Her new career? Musical artist according to google

That'll be successful, given how tone deaf she has shown herself to be.

FannyCann · 28/11/2022 22:08

We'll have to set up a Rota.

Unless something has been uncovered about volunteers contacting minors from the forum or helpline. I wouldn't put it past them not seeing how utterly inappropriate that could be. Munroe Bergdorf was a prime example of not understanding how asking kids to DM was incredibly dodgy even after the outrage so it seems to be a thing in these circles. Safeguarding - what's that?

Happylittlechicken · 28/11/2022 21:50

Ooh yes. I’m gonna get the job, get settled then bam! It’s all DBS (enhanced). And no discord or chat, watchful waiting and compliance with the cass report. @Boiledbeetle wanna be my minder? It’ll be fun. We can make mermaids a force for good and a resource to help GNC youth.

Oh yeah, I'm up for the mindset job, I'd be good at that, I used to work in construction I'm good at making grown men cower.

Boiledbeetle · 28/11/2022 22:21

Minder f'ing autocorrect

Happylittlechicken · 28/11/2022 22:24

Yay! You can be head of security and safeguarding lol.

Erm....I won't need a DBS check will I? I mean I can explain the drugs possession charge, but I'd rather not.

Birdsweepsin · 28/11/2022 22:27

Those drugs were just resting in my account

Boiledbeetle · 28/11/2022 22:28

@Birdsweepsin how did you know?

They're utterly clueless. They tweeted they were giving away sweets at Pride and for trans kids to come and find them, and they'd also get hugs from a soppy Labrador.

Are they actually stated an another tweet that they were looking for youngsters without any parental support.

Hadley Freeman makes some good points

I’m not waiting for celebrities such as Emma Watson to own up to their foolishness, mainly because I don’t care what Emma Watson thinks about anything. But all the journalists, teachers, editors and activists who endorsed Green’s obviously ludicrous ideas and shouted down anyone who didn’t, they really need to take a long look at their judgement, their motives and themselves. Because Green never once hid who she was.

I suppose it could be the good old ‘financial irregularities’ that afflict many a charity. Suddenly someone realised that there really shouldn’t have been twenty grand ‘resting’ in the petty cash tin after all, that kind of malarkey.

Igmum · 29/11/2022 07:47

She was kept away from giving evidence in the LGBA case, interestingly by people who weren't experts and hadn't read anything. This might have been brewing for a while.

CIN removes Mermaids...but replaces them with Proud Trust

Hmm that's interesting in its own right. It is curious that she did not contribute to the court case. Other people trying to clear up her mess and keep her from putting her foot in it further. That's almost worse because it demonstrates they knew she was a liability if that's the case.

And yes, I wouldn't surprise me if the downfall comes about due to a Al Capone type undermining because the authorities cannot take head on.

I think the first clue was the Director of Legal jumping ship back in June

Bloody fantastic article. The bit quoting poor Jackie Green saying they wanted the girls' toys, then pointing out SG sorted hormones and surgery to make it possible, is so chilling.

That's interesting - I assume the Director of Legal and Policy might have given their opinion (or even been asked for their opinion) regarding the advisability of taking another charity to court.

WarriorN · 28/11/2022 20:54

That's striking. Striking projection of her own homophobic ideology too.

Yeah I've come to this view as well. I read where she said her husband didn't like the idea of a gay son. I bet there were many men - and women - who were were unhappy about having a gay child. Although we like to think we live in enlightened times now.

But not many drug their kids for years and fly them 8000 miles to be mutilated just to keep their partners onside. For that you'd have to share your partners Jurassic opinion of gay people - at a minimum.

WarriorN · 29/11/2022 08:24

Hadley, you're amazing 🤩

AutumnCrow · 29/11/2022 08:24

Maybe the Dir of Legal and Policy said, ‘if you persist with this case against LGBA, I’m off’? And there was much stamping of feet and lo, they resigned forthwith.

Sounds likely. It was such a bad idea from the start. I know he’s not big on common sense but I’m amazed even Jolyon didn’t have better judgment on this one.

Her partner wasn't even on the scene at that point - they divorced when Jackie was at primary school. The husband sounds like a homophobic twunt, but Susie is wholly responsible for medicalising Jackie.

ThisIsMyGCname · 29/11/2022 08:45

I have been wondering why boy playing with “girls” toys= gay child. I have seen this idea out in the wild of various stay and play activities but isn’t it just as homophobic and misogynistic as transing the gay away?
