Oh gosh ladies I never thought it would happen (especially as they have constanyly refused to put graham linehsn on the dick of the year despite massive pressure from the trans lobby )but it did.

In what appears to be a new producers anti women statement.

They made the denigration of jk rowling, the promotion of stone wall and complete pasting of the studio with the anti female trans heavy "pride" flag. A supposed response to the world cup being held in quatar a country that has significant human rights abuses and anti gay laws

I feel shaken by it. To see that flag and all it represents for lesbians in this country, for safeguarding and single sex spaces for women, being waved and draped over everyone was deeply sickening,

This program is no longer a friend to women or girls or gay people.

Can they really have not understood how terrible the optics and realities are?
Have they not understood what's just happened between mermaids and LGBA?

Yes! I was shouting that at the TV. They just don't see the hypocrisy, do they?

Got me an eye roll from DH, but quite frankly, he can go fuck himself.

This week they announced the start of the process for their dick of the year awards - send in nominations so they can create a shortlist. At the end of the show, Adam Hills read out a few of the incoming suggestions which included “oh, JKR gets a mention”.

They can bog off now. Used to love the show, but I’m not watching anymore.

It’s odd for Adam hills to be constantly singling jkr out for criticism. Do he or Josh/ the other one not pay any attention to the news and the discussion in general?
It’s moved on significantly since 2020.
I can only assume they do not as jkr may very well be considered to be on the right side of history very soon. What will Adam hills say then? she’ll be owed a big apology.

I made it part way through Fridays edition then switched off.
They like to present the show as respecting diversity but there's too many miss steps.

Haven't watched it for ages. In fact, can't remember when I last watched anything on Ch4 and I used to watch it a lot.
Watch quite a bit of Ch 5 now which seems to have rebranded into an old style BBC1 channel. I imagine it's very successful.
I couldn't care less about Ch4 any more, so much sexism in it's programming.
So many grubby programmes. I don't want to see sparkly vaginas and knobs .. they scrape the bottom of the barrel again and again.

Adam Hills has a dog called Albus Dumbledog.

I remember thinking at the time that they didn't mention the jk Rowling row at all, and they must know about it. I also remember the episode where Adam had his prostate checked on live telly, they said 'all men must have their prostate checked', 'men shouldn't feel embarrassed about going to the doctor' etc.... None of this 'identify as men, prostate havers, ejaculators' bullshit we have to put up with.

And there on the sofa not saying a word about how 'men' is an exclusionary term, what about women with prostates etc was Sara pascoe.

Did they get a new TRA producer or something? To shift from years of silence (? - idk, I haven't watched since 2014) over this issue to snide remarks about JKR every week is an unusual volte face when TRA-Land is rapidly descending into utter chaos.

Has anyone contacted the show/Adam Hills, or considered doing so? It's not diversity, it's grimly hanging on to a dogma that never made sense, and increasingly people are starting to realise it. AH should be asked, does he have a problem with JKR, would he like to say what?

That’s exactly what I was thinking - they’ve either got someone in the production team or someone they know is close to the issue and they’ve jumped on the bandwagon very late. Although Rosie Jones is TWAW isn’t she, and she used to be on the production team before she stepped front of camera herself.

I’ve loved Last Leg in the past and think they did a brilliant job 10 years ago by basically being a Top Gear for people with disabilities - trouble is, the format of three (white) blokes cocking about does eventually grow stale If you’re not careful. The best bit for a while has been Josh’s “would you like to see” funny animal videos at the end.

Maybe they saw no need to speak up while womens rights were being eroded. Now its looking like there's a sizable backlash, they feel its time to put their weight behind TRA?

Perhaps. Their sudden support seems to coincide with the backlash over the C4 piano-playing penis-haver so maybe they're trying to stick up for a fellow C4 fella (did they ever support poor Rosie after her mad angry cry?)

I don't have a TV, (since boycotting the licence) but these little nobodies have a big influence on the culture. They need to get some education on what TRAs are really doing and how their 'humour' degrades women, just as the old stand-up comedians did decades back.

I’m not going to tag everyone, will take up too much space, but I agree. It seems really odd how they’ve suddenly switched to making digs at JKR this season - it’s only 3 episodes in! Plus the Peter Crouch/Paul Potts album promo supporting Stonewall. And I feel really shit for saying that - but Stonewall, to me right now, gets my back up.

Am pretty sure that, a few years ago, they had a raft of nominations for Glinner re the DOTY Awards - and that they made some kind of quick statement that they weren’t going to be influenced by a coordinated pile-on?

Am really puzzled as to why they seem to be covertly shoehorning stuff in - especially this far down the line. I’m almost tempted to nominate flipping Mermaids for the award.

On a lighter note, I loved the cockatiel playing hide and seek behind the coke can - too cute!

I’m seriously considering sending an email to them - I’m really pissed off about their comments this series. I totally stand behind, and have absolutely loved, the ethos of their show as it’s grown. But a panel of 3 guys casually mocking women’s rights has got my back up.

Please do. I can't really send an e-mail complaining about how bad their stance is ... since I gave up watching several series ago due to how bad their stance is. Therefore, unfortunately, my comment would be based on hearsay. I've got no idea how they would convince me to start watching again (but that's not my problem, is it). Maybe a change of personnel might achieve something - it's been the same male trio for 10 years.

They indeed remove Glinner from their Dick of The Year nominations one year after the TRA pile on.

They were also one of the few programmes that picked up on the “rainbow butt monkey” story (after I tweeted them repeatedly about it).

I was a fan of the show, and the individual presenters. Not any more.

I would suggest straight is a minority there.
