Oh gosh ladies I never thought it would happen (especially as they have constanyly refused to put graham linehsn on the dick of the year despite massive pressure from the trans lobby )but it did.

In what appears to be a new producers anti women statement.

They made the denigration of jk rowling, the promotion of stone wall and complete pasting of the studio with the anti female trans heavy "pride" flag. A supposed response to the world cup being held in quatar a country that has significant human rights abuses and anti gay laws

I feel shaken by it. To see that flag and all it represents for lesbians in this country, for safeguarding and single sex spaces for women, being waved and draped over everyone was deeply sickening,

This program is no longer a friend to women or girls or gay people.

Can they really have not understood how terrible the optics and realities are?
Have they not understood what's just happened between mermaids and LGBA?

Upsetting.

And if the belief is that souls have a sex and exist separately to the body, where do they exist before birth? Who inserts them into a baby and gets it wrong? Where do they go when the body dies?

This is a religious faith. And I'm all for religious tolerance, people should be free to practice whatever beliefs they wish. The boundary is enforcing others to participate in a belief they do not hold.

Adam Hills is Australian so would love to hear his take on males in women's sports over there.
As I said above, TLL was woeful in its response to the Wheelchair RL. The result - which went down to the wire - wasn't known until very close to TLL's transmission time. But they would have known the date/time of the Final since day dot and would have known all week that it would feature England. You would think that they would have some package ready to go (preferably, two packages - one for a loss and one for a win). These things only come round every four years so you think that they would make the most of it.
They did have a piece on Disability RL (?last week?) because it featured ... a certain A HillsHmm. They explained some of the rules, including that specific players wear red shorts. Red shorts = do not tackle, they cannot take the physical force. Adam knows full well that some bodies are made differently.

See what everyone starts with is the error that many males think of us as sentient humans with rights and stuff. Many, many don't give a single shit. Like this for example.

The assault, rape and murder of women is 'theoretic shite'. And being concerned about this 'theoretical shite' is why men die.

But we're those male bodies? Aka the ones that matter?

Tsk. The 'body that matters' is Adam Hills.
But, yes, they were all men. Thankfully, Rugby understands and knows that men are men and women are women. The only time you get mixed teams is in Wheelchair rugby where it is the wheelchair, not the human being, that takes the physical force.

Fenlandia · 21/11/2022 09:16

Wheelchair rugby league is fully inclusive in that there are no restrictions on mixing males and females in your team. And yet throughout the whole tournament I only saw two women competing (Wales). Wonderful sport but let's not pretend it's great for female representation.

Where were all the trans people when you were younger? Do you ever think about that? You might remember some transvestites and tales of women finding out their husbands were cross dressers. Straight men in retaliation to accusations of feminine behaviour would joke “only on the weekends!”

Logically, looking at a timeline of human history, why do you think now is the time, after hundreds of thousands of years of existence, that thousands and thousands of humans were “born in the wrong body”?

Logically, looking at the science of how a baby is formed in the womb, how does a perfectly formed male foetus end up with a female brain in there?

What IS a female brain?

That sounds frighteningly like the arguments people put up about the increase in autism when they want to deny or minimise its existence. "Where was all this spectrum nonsense when we were younger?" And the explanation is similar. There is better diagnosis/recognition and less stigma.

nilsmousehammer · 21/11/2022 09:22

The 'oh but you can't say that because it's a bit like this' just tries to stop people from pointing out the Emperor is a wee bit chilly.

It's not helpful.

In theory Wheelchair RL is fully inclusive: you can have male and female; disabled and able-bodied (although only two on court at any time); young and old.

I, too, only saw the one female - the Welsh woman. You need long, strong arms to play well and guess which sex has those.

anybodyinthere · 21/11/2022 09:50

Has anyone actually watched this, what did they say about JKR?

AlisonDonut · 21/11/2022 11:50

Oujiawoowoo · 20/11/2022 21:10

Does anyone have any idea what it is that JKR actually said that was so upsetting?

Id like to know too! Does anyone know why she is so hated by the trans community and it’s followers? I’m absolutely stumped.

You sounds as if you are trying to be sarcastic.

Feel free to let me know what it was that she said that is so upsetting.

sashagabadon · 21/11/2022 11:53

Last leg is always like this. It is a very infuriating programme but I like the support it gives to disabled people, that’s it’s saving Grace imo.

That's so interesting, if only they would have talked to the team about it! Maybe the ladies should have red wheelchairs!!

@Bosky that picture of JKR is amazing. Any idea whether the artist is selling it or what it’s called? I want it framed on my wall.
(sorry everyone for slight derail)

They were doing a peice on Twitter being betterfor women now snd not so full of pedos terrible for blue ticks . Then used a barn owl to deliver a messege which adam acted refusing to read bc it was from jk. Standing in front of shit new unofficial pride flag .
No actual content or discussion just z throw away shit on her moment. Amongst many such as Peter crouch raising money for stone wall and the anti women new pride flag everywhere and not a peep about the Qatar regimes impact on women or uding actual pride flag that doesn't silence lesbians and try to remove single sex provision.

I was quite disappointed to see Russell Howard and James Acaster get behind the tra lobby lately as well. It seems to be the new way of getting on the telly for someone to tell a handful of jokes then spend the rest of their set ranting about politics.

Russell Howard I am surprised about but James Acaster is gay so presumably would date a trans-woman. Bet he wouldn't date a trans-man though !

HairyMcLarie · 21/11/2022 13:46

@BloodyHellKen I'm sure James Acaster will be interested to learn he's gay! He was in a long term relationship with Rose Matafeo until recently.

@HairyMcLarie 😂
I'm not familiar with who Rose Matafeo is but I'm assuming she is a (proper) woman. A few years ago someone (who is generally very reliable) told me he was gay so I never questioned it. Maybe he is bi ?

TBH it doesn't matter which team he bats for just that he is wrong about trans women being women.

FusilliFettler · 21/11/2022 15:03

The wheelchair competition has been the highlight of the Rugby League World Cup. They could have had any of the athletes involved on the show (apart from Fraench/English ones for obvious reasons) but no. They choose to ignore the people that used to be the shows raison d’etre.

The Welsh captain would have been great. He gives a good interview.

Except there was autism recognised back in the 1900’s.

Have a think about the questions.

SiobhanSharpe · 21/11/2022 19:55

Rose Matafeo is a New Zealand actor and comedian.
She's very talented but I don't know her stance on genderism.

Oh bloody hell. Inference that JKR is against whole LGBT community by standing in front of the flag.

Illustrates it well though, ignoramuses refuse to actually read anything she's said and offer no discussion.

So I'm watching the Last Leg tonight and finding it SO interesting how insulted they are and how laughable they find the FIFA president saying he feels disabled. They just don't get the irony do they?

I thought that! So they got that saying you're disabled when you're not is not right but saying you feel like a woman when you're a man is fine?
