Telegraph: Stonewall urges employers to give trans staff two email addresses so they can swap gender identities

Quite a long article, some highlights below:

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/11/12/stonewall-urges-employers-give-trans-staff-two-email-addresses/

"Stonewall is urging employers to let staff have two email addresses to swap gender identities on different days, The Telegraph can reveal.
The contentious LGBT charity has drawn up new guidance for hundreds of organisations vying for spots on its “workplace equality index” (WEI), one of the UK's largest benchmarking schemes.
This newspaper has obtained the form that employers must submit for Stonewall’s 2023 index, with each question marked by the charity in return for a ranking score on its “top 100 employers” league table or a bronze, silver or gold award.
But MPs have branded it “frankly absurd” and “extremely concerning””_, with an ex-minister calling on the Government to ensure taxpayer cash is not wasted."

How could this not be open to misuse and/or abuse?

"In guidance beneath the question, Stonewall says “you will receive more marks if at least one example is specific to gender fluid people, for example the ability to have multiple passcards with different forms of gender expression or linked email accounts/intranet accounts with different names and photos”."

Of course their new set of rules seeks to add to procurement:

"Other questions on the new 40-page form ask employers whether they "do not award the contract" or "require improvements as a condition of contract" to potential suppliers that "do not meet LGBTQ+ inclusion scrutinn_y".
If a contract is awarded to a supplier, Stonewall suggests they could "include a broad diversity and inclusion slot in contract monitoring meetings”."
Not content with procurement rules, there's further requirements for buildings and "allies":
"The document also asks whether bodies have a "formal commitment to introduce gender-neutral facilities in all buildings" and "support all cis employees (including lesbian gay and bi employees) to become trans allies through training, programmes and/or resources"."

And what would happen if you misgendered them, I mean really what would happen?

The company would have to spend so much time and money on disciplinaries that the result would be to never hire anyone with pronouns. So actually making themselves less employable in the first place.

Just fucking mental and I mean proper fucking mental.

The organisation I work for is SO woke that they boasted in a recent session on diversity that they have given someone two different security passes because they identify as different genders on different days../
ffs

There was a police officer who had two warrant cards.

how much management and HR time is spent pandering?

DuncanBiscuits · 13/11/2022 11:14

Why did my comment get deleted?

ffs

ReunitedThorns · 13/11/2022 12:04

The technical reality of this is minimal as you just select what email address you are sending an email from, and most email accounts allow aliasing so everything goes to the same inbox.

I no doubt expect to see various articles in woke media from trans individuals going through so much pain and torture of accidentally sending an email from the wrong address. Because being trans is about being in a constant state of victimhood.

Just another thing from Stonewall to make it unachievable to ever be the gold standard and to keep paying Stonewall money for consultancy.

Crouton19 · 13/11/2022 13:38

It’s this one that puzzles me. Presumably pronouns in emails are gender markers? So are they pro or anti pronouns?

NeverOneBiscuit · 13/11/2022 13:39

Reunitedthorns the “constant state of victimhood” is spot on.

I was with a pupil recently (1 to 1) who trotted out the “trans people are the most persecuted group” trope. I couldn’t let it go, and said that statistically it wasn’t true. I said there was some, like all minority groups, but they were not “the most”. I gave some statistics about male violence against women.

They had nothing to come back with, and I could feel them internally seething. It may have affected the relationship, but so be it, the truth will always out. They’re being lied to and I’m not colluding in it.

That seems to contradict the idea that people can be different 'genders' on different days. If all gender markers are removed then someone who is gender fluid will just be like everyone else, and nobody will know their gender so they won't need 2 (or 3 or 4 or ...) different emails and IDs for their different gender days. To be consistent they should also ban pronouns on emails.

MagpiePi · 13/11/2022 15:59

But how will everyone know who the most special people are if gender identifiers are removed?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/11/2022 16:06

Goldsmiths was ahead of the curve here, as you would expect. This is from four years ago: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6145781/University-researcher-asked-Facebook-group-circulate-list-academics-disagreed-her.html

Goldsmiths University confirmed Ms Kennedy was an employee, but did not confirm to the Times why she appeared in the staff directory twice, once as Mark Hellen in the department for education and once as Natacha Kennedy in equality and diversity reports.

The University also did not clarify why one academic paper appeared to cite Mark Hellen and Natacha Kennedy as co-authors on a paper, when they appeared to be the same person.

"The document also asks whether bodies have a "formal commitment to introduce gender-neutral facilities in all buildings" and "support all cis employees (including lesbian gay and bi employees) to become trans allies through training, programmes and/or resources"."

Is that 'support' as in, coercion and compulsion?

JellySaurus · 13/11/2022 16:31

"formal commitment to introduce gender-neutral facilities in all buildings"

If TWAW, why are gender-natural facilities needed? If TWAW, surely it is very important to retain women's toilets so that TW can use them? Gender-neutral facilities are invalidating to TW.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 13/11/2022 16:45

The Emperor Caligula used to ‘identify’ as a male god (usually Jupiter) on some days , carrying a pretend thunderbolt and wearing the crown of the gods. On some other days he dressed up as Venus, the Goddess of love ( think diaphanous robe, blonde wig, false breast etc). Courtiers were expected to recognise which god he was embodying that day, and behave accordingly. Failure to do so was not a good career move.

It didn’t go very well for him. Stabbed multiple times in a corridor by his own bodyguards.

Lampedsomeoiks · 13/11/2022 16:48

If only there was 8 days a week. There can never be enough pronouns.

The recipients are going to need to be on the ball otherwise a good old fashioned witch hunt of not respecting pronouns will be rained down up them.

Essentially. In central government, you have to do a quiz displaying your ally credentials (including a question about what you would do if you saw a man in the women's toilets - the 'right' answer is of course smile and welcome him). If you answer any questions wrong, you are sent for reeducation further training

The trouble with this statement is that it uses logic and reason. That won't do, @JellySaurus. Do Better. Angry

FrippEnos · 13/11/2022 18:17

Its an interesting journey that they have gone on.
From sex is a spectrum.
and children now their gender from a young age as its not something you chose.

To give people two emails so they can chose which they want to use that day./

Does this also mean that everyone else has to guess which email to use? or will the gender fluid person email out which gender they are that day?

ResisterRex · 13/11/2022 18:27

Does this also mean that everyone else has to guess which email to use? or will the gender fluid person email out which gender they are that day?

In a team where there are multiple people with multiple IDs, would I - in one of my IDs get the memo about my colleague's ID but not read it because I'm in a different ID that day? If so, would I mis-ID my colleague? But if it's picked up the next day when I'm in the right ID with the message, and I email my colleague my days and IDs, and they see it on the wrong day because of their ID days, and they mis-ID me, do we have counter complaints?

Who does it go to in HR and how do they resolve this?

Etc

The people with DID/ "systems" of multiple identities will surely say this is appropriation of their struggles?!

I’m awaiting the day the secret tapes are released, of Stonewall top brass rolling on the floor in hysterics of laughter — “They fell for it! Again! Come on, someone’s got to come up with something these idiots won’t agree to!”

Re-education. Persistent offenders will be sent to the gulags until they’ve seen the error of their ways and truly repented.

What a pile of shite.

This

What the hell is wrong with these over woke idiots it seems like there is a new ask every week, how does having 2 email addresses help them anyway

paintitallover · 13/11/2022 21:43

It is a foolish idea but the word "woke" is a stupid and meaningless insult.

Dreikanter · 13/11/2022 22:00

I’m going to use my man identity email every time I ask for a pay rise, sportier company car and uprated annual bonus.

If you consider the word woke to be a meaningless insult that’s your take on it. The fact is that the phrase ‘over woke’ is used often to describe where people or organisations go too far to be ‘supportive’ of one group or another. In this example to the point where a ridiculous suggestion such as gender fluid people need 2 email addresses is given air-time and being recommended.
