Gender affirming haircuts

It's Trans Awareness Week and I've just received a work email advertising these for free. 🙄

I could do with a haircut - do you think I could go and say that I identify as a woman and need my femenine gender affirmed?

Hair is dead and doesn't have a gender, or a brain to 'identify as' anything in particular.

Next week, let's have a non gender coffee in a non gender mug, eat non gender cake and vacuum the non gender stairs. Or how about admitting that 'gender' doesn't actually exist in any meaningful way?

I saw an advert for a coffee that came in a tin with lots of different pronouns on it - because viability of pronouns was important or some such waffle. I think if your sense of self is so fragile that you need your coffee to affirm them then you probably should seek professional help rather than rely on the coffee

Based on this thread I've decided to grow my hair long (after 30 years of short cuts including a variety of hairdressers and barbers and even a seat in someone's street food cafe when travelling, rusty scissors, top salons and clippers)...I don't want people to think I have a 'gender affirming haircut'
Although I'm quite middle aged so they'd likely not notice either way.

I google imaged it and am seeing a LOT of bobs. Bobs!!! I get how people with short hair, long fringes and undercuts can pretend to themselves that they have some sort of groundbreaking haircut. (They don't, lots of people had those in the eighties.) But fucking bobs! Those haven't been anything special for literally a century!

Did you identify as whichever was cheapest?

Googling images I can see my haircut in non gender haircuts. I never knew I wasn't a woman because I have short hair. I did get called sir once from a distance when I was behind the wheel so I guess I should've known! In the 80s I had my hair like John Taylor from Duran Duran and later like Rick Astley!

My work is doing a gender affirming clothes swap. I think my jeans are probably non binary but I do have a jumper that may well be cat-gender

Is dying your hair blue included? This seems to be an important component of non-binary hair.

It’s the inherent sexism. If bobs and short hair are somehow non binary or trans hair cuts then the ladeez must have all long flowing locks and be all rapunzel then?

Do you remember in downtown lady Mary got a 1920s bob and it was a scandal. We are back to that. But it’s worse cos now she’s a man as determined by her hair, not just a flapper.

A friend's teenage daughter says that you have to have the set long hair or you don't fit in. Any girl with a bob or short hair gets asked if they are trans.
