Yes, I really feel for this woman's child. Who has quite possibly been rendered sterile. And will never be able to reach the promised impossible ideal of 'changing sex'.

This has been very interesting so far. What a shame for the parent of the trans child, she's bought completely into the delusion. There's no rowing back from here really, she has to completely go along with it. What a mess this terrible ideology is. Makes no sense, and messes up these poor children's lives.

I know it sounds nicer to say to the child 'you can become a woman', but it's not actually kind. Saying bluntly 'you can't change sex, you will always be male' is in the end the kind and brave thing to say.

I think this is why Maya is so brilliant. She is tactful and respectful, which is so much more effective on media platforms than telling it like it is.

There's a time and a place for the unvarnished truth, but a lunchtime phone ins aren't necessarily it.

Some empathy for the child would have helped. Personally, I would have focused on the impact on other girls - I.e. absolutely, let your trans daughter dress and socialise how they like - but it’s not fair on the other girls for them to be on the girls sport team.

However, I understand how emotions take over and how hard it is on the spot! I don’t trust myself to talk to friends let alone the radio.

If transwomen were attacked with the same numbers as the rest of us, let alone more, there would not be many left.

Exactly. When the storm around Kathleen Stock was at its height the trans activists were hunting high and low for any dirt and their failure to find any really helped in getting Stock's story picked up all across the media.

I agree Yogi, it makes it look like there’s a hidden agenda of dislike. Let people live their lives as they like, including trans people, but there should be balance - no access by TW to single sex spaces there to protect women and girls and the ability of WAG fully to participate. No bullying of gay people to accept the opposite sex. And no requirement to readjust the world’s language and refer to us as bleeders, vagina havers etc to “be kind”. Surely it should be enough?
