Sorry I can't share the article, but liked this:

What is the funniest thing that has happened in your job?

As a result of my work in this area, apparently becoming an object of admiration on Mumsnet [the Internet parents' forum] - improbable in many ways.

😁

"Only a fool would think this is truly a win."

Allison Baily won the case against Stonewall in the same way Donald Trump won the US Presidential election.

Would you not rather that she had won the case?

I am very glad that Allison won her case. I am very glad that Stonewall was their typical selves during the case. I mean, that was a very enlightening performance!

That you don’t seem to be able to engage on anything but superficially with any analysis and continue to show that, is also an enlightening performance hearache.

I fully encourage you to continue to be yourself and keep on posting. You are a great live demonstration of the inanity of the tactics and arguments of supporters of gender identity ideology.

She lost her case against Stonewall.

I hadn’t followed the court case in real time but it sounds like there were some real comedy gold moments! I donated to the case and have a direct debit set up to sex matters and am so glad that I can help support women brave enough to stand up for us in this way, even if it is only through donations.

Pyjamagame · 07/08/2022 18:12

Funny how so many publications published articles in favour of Allison after the judgement that Stonewall 'won'. Are they ALL perhaps wrong in this assessment? Was the court case a resounding success story for Stonewall?

Tell me you're not a lawyer, without telling me you're not a lawyer.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/08/2022 19:30

It would be a much bigger endorsement of his skills as a lawyer if he had actually won the case against Stonewall.

Stonewall weren't Allison's employer, it was always going to be hard to win against them directly. Read the threads here at the time. We knew this, we felt that if she didn't win that part we just wanted them to be held up to scrutiny which they were, magnificently. And that's why BC is such an impressive lawyer.

TheBiologyStupid · 07/08/2022 19:31

As Sex Matters noted:

"Employers should ensure that their policies about the expression of religious and philosophical beliefs, including beliefs about gender identity and about Stonewall, are even-handed.

If individuals are free to express their allegiance to Stonewall with rainbow-coloured lanyards and pronoun badges, they should also be free to express their gender-critical views with lanyards that read “Women: adult human female” and badges that say “sex matters”. If the workplace encourages, facilitates and engages with an LGBTQ+ Forum, it should be willing to provide a Gender-Critical Forum with the same level of encouragement and access.

Employers may find that it is simpler to discourage the active promotion of any kind of belief in the workplace, and ask employees to concentrate their efforts on doing their jobs.

To avoid being sidetracked into fractious debate about sex and gender issues, employers, schools, universities and other institutions should ensure their policies use the language of the Equality Act – such as sex (man, woman, male, female), mother and transsexual / gender reassignment – and the generalised protections against harassment and discrimination, and avoid trying to go “beyond the law” into promoting areas of contentious belief. "

So I struggle to see Allison's case as a "win" for Stonewall.

TheBestBitch · 07/08/2022 21:22

I ❤️ Ben and I’m so glad he won Allison’s case against her employer

TheBestBitch · 07/08/2022 21:23

Why the need for quotation marks? Stonewall won against Allison Bailey, it's fact. They won, she lost.

"Stonewall had a much better lawyer".
👋 at our old friend.
When I'm looking for a barrister, I'll choose a team who can work paper, and knows how to mute their mic before insulting the Respondent.
And who writes textbooks that state the actual law and not stuff they made up.

Ben's performance was a masterclass in skill. He showed humanity and kindness to witnesses who in many respects didn't deserve it. All while GCC and Stonewall's barristers tried to goad and inflame Allison on the stand. He absolutely deserves all praise and respect, whatever your opinion of the case.

And shout out for his support wren- the posters here were a funny, incisive bunch of fuckers. TRAs round here are as po-faced as they are delusional.

Allison Bailey: "I have a good arguable case with more than reasonable prospects of success."

Guess you guys were all smarter than she was.

At it is her most important claim against Garden Courts (loss of income) was thrown out. Had she won that she would have been entitled to substantial compensation whereas she spent 500k to win 22k - and she could well have to pay Stonewall's costs as well.

"Ben's performance was a masterclass in skill" - but not a masterclass in winning. That accolade goes to Stonewall's barrister.

That's not how Employment Tribunals work, Hearach.

Not always.

"Occasionally, though, an Employment Tribunal will order that you have to pay your employer’s costs if you lose the claim."

I hope there's an appeal and even more money get thrown down the drain.

Runs hands together with glee

LK1972 · 07/08/2022 22:27

Ye, @Hearach15 , Stonewall has won and its reputation shines bright as a star (only slightly dimmed by the luminosity of its lawyers). I'm glad we agree, and sure your glee is fully justified.

Goodnight, you've proved us all wrong once again (walks away muttering 'those pesky kids') 😘

LK1972 · 07/08/2022 22:31

And I'm sorry for being overfamiliar there @Hearach15 , I kinda get attached to our most persistent botherers on this board, got to give you the kudos for perseverance Wink

"Stonewall has won" - never was a truer word spoken on this thread! 😎

Datun · 07/08/2022 22:45

Well Hearach, stonewall have certainly won at being sexist, homophobic, complicit in threats against women, detrimental to women and severely detrimental to lesbians.

They win at all that for sure. Hands down.

Stonewall's "campaigning on gender theory is sexist and homophobic" and it is "complicit" in "threats against women (including threats of violence and sexual violence)". "Gender theory as proselytised by [Stonewall] is severely detrimental to women for numerous reasons" and is "severely detrimental to lesbians [...] This is inherently homophobic [....]".
