Sorry I can't share the article, but liked this:

What is the funniest thing that has happened in your job?

As a result of my work in this area, apparently becoming an object of admiration on Mumsnet [the Internet parents' forum] - improbable in many ways.

😁

There is no LGB without the T.

Of course there is! What on earth do you mean? Plenty of LGB and B people are not transgender.

Hearach15 · 13/08/2022 12:47

"'Giving trans people some basic dignity through the use of appropriate language cost absolutely nothing.'

"Another emotionally manipulative statement."

Misgendering is bad, it's not "emotionally manipulative" to say so.

Here's why Harvard Medical School says it's bad:

"When people are misgendered, they feel invalidated and unseen. When this happens daily, it becomes a burden that can negatively impact their mental health and their ability to function in the world."

www.health.harvard.edu/blog/misgendering-what-it-is-and-why-it-matters-202107232553#:~:text=When%20people%20are%20misgendered%2C%20they,to%20function%20in%20the%20world.

Right. A good thing that trans people tell us constantly that they don’t deny their biological sex reality.

sanluca · 13/08/2022 16:30

Helleofabore, you have the patience of a saint.

Hearache, transmen are female human beings. Otherwise they wouldn't be trans, they would be men. Denying the sex someone is, is dangerous when it comes to healthcare or prisons or sports. Can you please get of your cult high horse and get down to reality?

JacquelinePot · 13/08/2022 16:52

But anyway, Ben Cooper QC is fab, isn't he?

Some of my best friends are massive BLOKEY GEEZERS and they demonstrate their masculinity by having a beer baby or two. It's all the rage down the Nags Head.

I'm so glad we frequent the same local! I bloody knew you were a TERF!

Oh dear… again?

Are you ever going to read what you post? Did you look at the ‘Harvard’ and think ‘this has great credibility’?

A) it is non a trans person writing this. B) says absolutely FUCK ALL about using correct sex for discussing the medical needs of females .

That article (not any authorative source at all) is irrelevant in the discussion for medical situations where life or death decisions are made.

Can you EVER post a link that is relevant to the discussion instead of just generally preaching at people or is a discredited study?

I am now thinking you are deliberately making activists look so bad and uninformed.

He's an excellent lawyer and achieved a fantastic win for Maya, he never had a chance with Allison's case agaist Stonewall unfortunately - although if anyone could have won it would have been Ben 😀

Datun · 13/08/2022 19:26

Hearach isn't convincing anyone of anything. Not even one person. Nor are they helping those they profess to be defending. Quite the opposite.

Incoherent arguments, blank repetition of refuted points and repeated links to irrelevant sites, aren't really on the list of competencies you'd require in a transactivist. Or anyone speaking on their behalf, to be honest.

So you're just left with the odd, but very common, hobby of irritating women on the feminist section of a largely female only website.

ItsLateHumpty · 13/08/2022 19:45

Ben has been amazballs and I want the tie!

Hearach15 What is your skin in the game? If you’re trans you really need to step back and listen, if you’re not, you really need to step back and listen.
Your posts on here are not helping us at all.

AlisonDonut · 13/08/2022 19:54

I'm wondering the financial impact on the NHS of having to do a pregnancy test on every man before treating them in specific instances, like they regularly do on women.

Or the impact of females who might be experiencing a heart attack but because their sex marker is male, they are treated for heartburn as the symptoms are different for males and females.

None of this is good for trans people, the NHS or anyone in society to pretend people can change sex. It is total madness.

Helleofabore · 13/08/2022 20:59

Well. I am also thinking of the dire consequences of a transitioned female who has been pregnant donating blood and not disclosing their sex! I mean. That could cause the death of some patients.

But it seems none of that matters in some posters minds. Just collateral damage it seems so that some people don’t feel the need to face the reality of the effects of their choices on others.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 14/08/2022 12:53

some people don’t feel the need to face the reality of the effects of their choices on others.

It's not quite the irregular verb here but I think the Sacred Caste declension is approximately

  • Collective responsibility for, and adherence to, my choices for thee.
  • Supreme individualism and autonomy without consideration for others for me.
Datun · 14/08/2022 12:58

I'm wondering the financial impact on the NHS of having to do a pregnancy test on every man before treating them in specific instances, like they regularly do on women.

I wonder how many men, of the kind who wear prosthetic pregnancy bumps, try to lactate, and use 'period kits' would thorough enjoy being asked to pee on a stick before they get their prostate checked.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 14/08/2022 13:10

I wonder how many men…would thorough enjoy being asked to pee on a stick…

According to Dara O'Briain there's a subset of men who'd enjoy it for very different reasons.

There is no LGB without the T.

This is such a sinister statement.
The implication that LGB exist only due to the largesse of T. It is a very pure taking control of LGB politics- if there were mutuality, you could swap out any of the letters but nowadays it only ‘works’ when T is the dominant force.

The rage at disconnecting LGB makes it pretty obvious to everyone that it's needed in order to provide legitimacy.

Helleofabore · 15/08/2022 14:49

Yes, but I don’t think those who passionately berate or denigrate LGB people who want representation without the T realise the sinister nature of that mantraing.

Helleofabore · 15/08/2022 14:58

I think they think they sound kind and super tolerant and are ‘leading by example’, when the reality is they sound exactly the opposite. And very indoctrinated.

I can’t imagine anyone undecided being convinced by Hearaches gleefully tone deaf and totalitarian posts. But maybe someone will.

Maybe they will come and tell us what was convincing about them.

The creation of the ‘us and them’, the absolutism, is recognised as the opposite of inclusive. But the ‘inclusive’ evangelists cannot see that.

"Did you look at the ‘Harvard’ and think ‘this has great credibility’?"

I see 'Harvard', realise it is research published by the most prestigious university in the world and know the conclusions expressed within it are much credible than those of someone who in their own words is "not an expert" in LGBT matters.

Hearach15 · 15/08/2022 19:58

Not all all sinister to call out transphobia among from members of the LGB community. I would also call out any homophobia and biphobia expressed by members of the trans community.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 15/08/2022 20:29

Lol yeah sure course you would

you think a fully intact man who self identifies as a woman can be a lesbian

Homophobia is rife among TRA
