Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

On trans periods and changing sex at menopause

MauisLeftNipple · 31/07/2022 10:26

My friend is on a women's discussion group and has been observing the education of women by some transwomen (and sending me screenshots...).

Apparently the effect of estrogen on transwomen's bodies (mood swings, bloating, cramps) is an actual period. It is the same thing as expelling menstrual fluid from your person. You can use "period" to describe any or all of these symptoms, and even doctors do so.

There are multiple types of sex including chromosomal, gametic and hormonal. And get this, when a woman goes through menopause her gametic sex changes. Wow!

Health information such as that on NHS pages re cervical cancer is actually clearer since it removed references to sex because "people with a cervix" is the correct descriptor over women. Information on men's cancers has been subject to the exact same treatment.

Anyone who disagrees with this is following their feelings and not the science. Oh yeah and they are also a t* and want trans people to die.

And there endeth your lesson....

To all those that have taken the time to post detailed explanations of the menstruatal cycle...thank you. Genuinely thank you but....we dont need to!
We all know males cannot and do not experience periods. We don't need to explain it but we find ourselves having to because the social media generation belive everything they read on line and lack the ability to think critically.

CharlieAndTooManyCharacters · 31/07/2022 17:42

While this hasn't been explored heavily in research, feminizing HRT can and often does cause at least 2 steps of a typical menstrual cycle: Ovulation and Premenstrual syndrome.

How, exactly, do people with no ovaries experience ovulation?

@ScreamingMeMe sorry, just read your post again and can’t tell if it’s your own opinion or just posted from the Twitter thread - sorry if it’s just a repost!

It's a repost of the twitter thread.

Think ScreamingMeMe was just reposting the Twitter nonsense.
I'm so glad I'm not on Twitter, it would not be good for my blood pressure.

Ah sorry then @ScreamingMeMe , I didn’t quite twig you were just reposting. Like @Boiledbeetle and other pp, this subject just makes me see red…

For @Truthlikeness and others, if you ever want a very sex-based charity to donate to, the Fistula Foundation is based in the US but does fantastic work in the developing world on fistula repair. I haven’t looked recently at their website in detail but last time I did they hadn’t yet been taken over by genderism and I hope they still are holding out:

This must mean that I can literally get an erection? The hormones responsible don't actually originate from the penis, they come from the pituitary gland, surely? I've definitely got one of those.

I'm very much enjoying the comments from women who take hormonal contraceptives at a constant dose, and no longer ovulate, menstruate or experience PMT.

Hell why not. Knock yourself out...after all anything goes these days!!

You also might want to ask the doctor next time you are there wether the reason you wake up in the night to pee frequently is because of a problem with your prostate rather than the ten cups of tea you drink.

Boiledbeetle · 31/07/2022 18:14

I just feel like it's all got really silly.

You know that point at a children's party where they've consumed way to much sugar and they are running around screaming like, well, children! And it's ramping up and ramping up and you just know that in five minutes Kenny is going to push Mark and Lucy is going to fall over and simon is going to be sick.

I feel like the last couple of years we've been suffering the consequence of those in charge consuming to much sugar at the party.

This week feels like we have reached the Simon being sick stage.

Which means its time for the grown -ups to clean up the mess!

BoredofthisCrap7 · 31/07/2022 18:20

If any of my male relatives start bleeding from their penis I will immediately tell them it definitely nothing to worry about.
Abdominal cramping? Perfectly normal.
Milk from their nipples? Normal.
Sore / tender breast tissue? Normal.

Definitely NOT bladder or prostate cancer, kidney stones, a UTI, abdominal mass, digestive issue, or a prolactinoma brain tumour in the pituitary, or a hormonal imbalance causing gynecomastia.

Just lady symptoms.
(because sex doesn't exist and we are all the same).

MisgenderedPaul · 31/07/2022 18:30

God. Wish I hadn't looked at the twitter. How many people follow and like these ridiculous articles! I'd give my left bollock for it all to go away 😀. Local paper a couple of days ago had some article about birthing people, never mentioned women once, but had a quote from a spokesman.... I went on to comment but first comment I saw was saying do not rise to this, they are just doing it for clickbait. So that did help.

ChanceEauFraiche · 31/07/2022 18:32

I just don’t have the patience with this nonsense Abs increasingly I am willing to say so outright even if it offends.

Trans periods? Oh please fuck off.

I think it's safe to safe we have all reached our point of enough!

Enough of the be kind
Enough of no debate
Enough of the lies.

it's time the other side put their money where their mouth is and:

Prove this shit with verifiable, replicable data.

or shut up.

theclangersarecoming · 31/07/2022 18:52

I just read some of the Twitter thread - OMG so many narcissistic, attention-seeking people and so many enablers desperate to “100% believe” them. I just can’t be doing with the utter nonsense! Plus — so these men are constantly complaining that they are so triggered by hearing about female biological processes they will never have? And yet given the opportunity they will complain like billy-o about fantasised pains and mood swings as if they’re being massively hard done by.

If you don’t like the bowel cramps and mood swings, don’t take the hormones then, chaps! Just say no! It’s all your choice and you can stop any time! Don’t pretend you’re having a “period”, when it’s abject nonsense — because we all know that if you even were, you could just choose not to any time you liked.

MingeofDeath · 31/07/2022 18:57

One transwoman on one of the Reddit subs actually said that since being on hormones their hips had rotated and pelvis had widened 😂

I do hope they've visited a doctor to get this verified. Did they post the xrays to prove this marvel of modern hormone treatments?

No need to respond i can guess the answer🤔

Mennex · 31/07/2022 19:14

As any woman that has tried HRT for peri or menopause will tell you, it's the progesterone you take in the second half of the cycle to mimic the natural pre-meno levels and protect you from uterine cancer that gives you uterine cramps and bloating, not the estrogen.

Do trans women get given progesterone? I can't see why they would.

Deluded men fetishising periods. Funny how none of them want menopause though isn't it?

BoredofthisCrap7 · 31/07/2022 19:27

Also funny how they all identify at young, nubile, stocking and heel wearing "girls", not post menopausal tracksuit wearing women .

VestofAbsurdity · 31/07/2022 19:29

Incidentally please can we expunge the term HRT from our vocabularies when talking about men taking cross sex hormones? It adds to the fantasy. They're not replacing anything because they didn't make them in the first place.

YES.

Really? All of them? The trans women I know at my work just wear normal work clothes, they certainly don't wear 'stockings and heels!' Wtf?!

windo · 31/07/2022 19:43

When my son transed himself my son told me that hormones can cause periods symptoms I asked my doctor if this is true he told me that it's impossible for a male to have a period and is most likely a tumour growing on a part of the brain causing the symptoms.

He said one of the drugs that “trans” people take can cause a brain tumour.

ancientgran · 31/07/2022 19:47

Datun · 31/07/2022 10:53

It's should say all women including women who identify as men, women who say they're non-binary, and women with a DSD.

hopefully, Liz Truss and/or Rishi Sunak will sort this nonsense.

Not all women. I am a woman and don't have a cervix, womb or ovaries.

puffyisgood · 31/07/2022 19:48

I suppose we can't say for certain whether this 'experience' is the same as the one experienced by natal women, given that no-one who ever walked the planet has experienced being both male and female.

But I don't think it's too controversial to say that the smart money is on it being risible BS that, to the limited extent that it's relevant, does 'the trans cause' more harm than good.

CrossStichQueen · 31/07/2022 20:02

Not all women. I am a woman and don't have a cervix, womb or ovaries.

And?
Did you have them? If so you are a woman.
If not then its very likely you are male.

Roseglen84 · 31/07/2022 20:12

This is so creepy, OP did the moderators in that group not kick this guy out? It's likely to have made many of the women really uncomfortable, and all they are doing is endorsing his sexual fetish.

I wonder if the women championing this shit know that they guy is probably jerking off to all of it later on. If he was a random guy named Dave they would likely call him a pervert and throw him out. But now that he has a special identity his creepy behaviour is somehow fine?
