What a wonderful accolade!

I'm so pleased for her. I know she'll do a phenomenal job - compassionate, kind and wise

Are you actually going to answer the question?

BellaAmorosa · 21/07/2022 18:42

@GoodJanetBadJanet

You have not answered the questions "What rights do trans people lack in the UK?" or "What rights do they fear will be curtailed?"

And your remarks about trans people being "scared for their rights" because of Joanna Cherry's appointment came before the Court of Human Rights was mentioned.

Artichokeleaves · 21/07/2022 18:43

You realise it could be your rights one of these days if you're lesbian, gay, or bi?
Plenty of people would want to discuss whether you have enough of those, or too much.

You're behind the times hon, the TQ+ lobby have already come for those rights and are doing their level best in shifting them posthaste. As a homosexual female my rights are under attack on two fronts and my existence gets debated on a daily basis. By the lobby you're wanting my sympathy for.

Conflictedunicorn · 21/07/2022 18:48

GoodJanetBadJanet · 21/07/2022 18:40

Yes, I know that's what you're asking - did you actually read my post?!

Yes and I’m still confused sorry. What rights are trans people afraid of losing?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 21/07/2022 18:57

Oooh dark chocolate Maltesers. Might have to try me some of those.

Why not just admit you can't actually answer the question instead of deflecting and avoiding it Janet?

Deliriumoftheendless · 21/07/2022 19:01

if You can give an answer we can all move on if you can’t admit you don’t know and we can all move on.

if you’ve answered can you repost then we can all see for sure.

PearlClutch · 21/07/2022 19:05

You realise it could be your rights one of these days if you're lesbian, gay, or bi?

Well ... what rights?

VestofAbsurdity · 21/07/2022 19:18

just to curtail rights of a group you don't agree with!

This is from your post the question being asked is what rights of that group are you suggesting we want to curtail?

Secondly, what rights are trans people worried about due to Joanna Cherry's appointment, you seem to think they have a valid case to be worried, why?

VestofAbsurdity · 21/07/2022 19:27

which is why how would us pulling out of the European Courts of Human Rights be a good thing?

To reassure you in the hope you will now answer the questions, I do not think it is a good idea to pull out of the European Convention of Human Rights, however I do think that there needs to be more clarity around the interpretation of those rights and an acknowledgement that with rights come responsibilities.

bellinisurge · 21/07/2022 20:02

@GoodJanetBadJanet at 15:10, I said this "ECHR is nothing to do with Stonewall other than them bleating trans demands are human rights at every opportunity.
They tried to get the UK Equality and Human Rights Commission delisted as our national human rights ombudsman because it dared to say trans demands need to be in balance with women's rights. And those of other protected characteristics in the UK Equality Act."
What part of that constitutes tumbleweed about ECHR. Coming out of ECHR is an ignorant dumbass move which I oppose.

Next diversion tactic?

GoodJanetBadJanet · 21/07/2022 20:34

What part of that constitutes tumbleweed about ECHR.
My tumbleweed comment was referring to where I said pulling out of the European Court of Human rights because it's against a group who's rights you don't agree with would be a ridiculous move, as there's nothing to say that it wouldn't affect others rights as well in the future like your own if you're lesbian, gay or bi.
Nothing about what you just posted

Conflictedunicorn · 21/07/2022 20:37

So @GoodJanetBadJanet any news on the rights the worried people are worried about or are you still dodging that question?

mrshoho · 21/07/2022 20:39

Come on now Janet. One poster as far as I read mentioned getting out of the ECHR. No one agreed and many pointed out the benefits of being in it. OK so feel free to move on and answer the pertinent question you've been asked please.

DoElephantsHaveWrinkles · 21/07/2022 20:41

There will never be an answer.

This poster always deflects and ignores anything they can't answer. There's a long history of it.

IcakethereforeIam · 21/07/2022 20:41

Ooh, am I too late for a dark choc malteaser?

<Sips tea.....and waits>

Conflictedunicorn · 21/07/2022 20:48

Maybe we could bribe @GoodJanetBadJanet with cake and maltesers then we might get an answer……

bellinisurge · 21/07/2022 20:58

Right, so most of us are against pulling out of ECHR. What else you got?

BoredofthisCrap7 · 21/07/2022 21:05

Radio silence.
As always.

It's a REALLY simple question.
It's always the simple questions that seem that hardest to answer for some reason.

bellinisurge · 21/07/2022 21:09

This was their big moment to show that they have the answer to that question- what rights don't trans people have in the UK?
I appreciate them engaging with people they disagree with. I recognise that takes patience especially when we're all having a joke that they don't share.
But answer came there none.

Conflictedunicorn · 21/07/2022 21:21

Not even the lure of maltesers worked. @GoodJanetBadJanet is a tough cookie for sure.

PearlClutch · 21/07/2022 21:26

Has anyone ever answered that question, out of interest?

bellinisurge · 21/07/2022 21:35

Nope. Not once. I mean, you'll get some hyperbole about a right to exist. But somehow that seems to mean cancelling single sex spaces. Because if you have them it means denying transwomen's existence.

Conflictedunicorn · 21/07/2022 21:37

PearlClutch · 21/07/2022 21:26

Has anyone ever answered that question, out of interest?

Not to my knowledge. It’s either tumbleweed, as in this case, or screams of bigot, tantrums and resorts to threats and insults.

Helleofabore · 21/07/2022 21:52

Another vigil. I am in! I can offer Tim Tams, Cherry Ripes and mini Picnics (The original without those devil raisins you Brits added!!! Wikipedia it if you need to)

Because I see some pretty twisty deflection and ignoring happening.

All this talk about ‘coming for rights’ and denial that there is any shaming of posters who support the exclusion of all males where appropriate is par for the course.

Didn’t we hold a vigil for an explanation about other comments in the past? Fake tan comes to mind .

VestofAbsurdity · 21/07/2022 21:53

I conclude that the rights that are required are:

Immediate subservient compliance to any and all demands irrespective of the negative impact on others, others may not voice any dissent, raise objections, point out damage of said negative impact.

Immediate granting of any and all demands irrespective of the negative impact on others.

Rights that are feared will be curtailed are:

Rights that are insisted to be but actually are not and are factually and legally clarified as not being rights.
