It's the other way around. Sunak, for all his dedication to the service of the rich at the expense of everyone else, does actually have some understanding of the underlying processes involved and how to do that without imploding the whole shebang.

Truss is a complete idiot saying what other idiots want to hear (when in doubt, cut taxes).

I don't necessarily disagree with you on who is in fact safer, but people's sense of who is safe isn't always about that.

Thank you @AdamRyan. I was convinced I was going mad for a while there.

Leeds is also not the heart of the red wall
It's northern is all

Bradford, Keighley, Stockton on tees, Darlington, hartlepool, Sunderland, Burnley, Blackburn, Preston, Stockport etc is the red wall

I'm happy actually cos I'm ideologically opposed to the conservatives and Truss is a conservatives own goal. But her saying she represents "red wall" is bollocks

Do you mean Keighley as a town or as a constituency?

The constituency includes Ilkley, Worth Valley and various rural areas that are consistently Conservative. Equally as a constituency it has not been consistently Labour before 2019, but tends to be more of a bellweather seat.

My point is not about what/where are "Red wall" constituencies
My point is that I can see why Liz Truss made the claim. She wants to differentiate herself from ultra wealthy Sunak and also appeal to red wall voters who switched last time.
The fact is though that she grew up in an affluent area and supported remain. So she's being extremely disingenuous to suggest she represents/understands red wall voters.

I have no axe to grind because I think it will be easier for the opposition parties to beat Truss than Sunak. I don't want a conservative government.

I'm also fed up of the lying "man of the people" "anti-elite" bullshit that's worked so well for farage, trump and johnson and as far as I can see Truss is just doing the same
