There’s lots of people I would be disgusted by giving a talk in my local library, and people are free to peacefully protest speakers (without intimidating or obstructing them or attendees) or hold counter events, but we all should be concerned about a council stepping in to override what a library offers and vetoing public events. If they can ban Bindel, another council could come in and ban talks against any issues like police violence, immigration, abortion, workers rights, socialism, etc etc. It sets a terrible precedent and even people who strongly disagree with Bindel and hate what she says should see that.
