It has to be said, from the evidence of RMW's performance today, the 'Transcard' has been made heavy use of.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 16/06/2022 17:39

Well, the sweetheart neckline does a lot of heavy lifting in that regard.

That's true maybe RMW used us all as a practise ground 😂

And overlooking the role of the moderators? Or did RMW expect the EJ to comply with similar pliability and adopt a comparable function?

I confess myself baffled by the references to Russian plumbers and shippers. I thought MNers were being a little giddy and parodic but it seems as if there were genuinely part of the questioning. 😲

Yeah, i see a resemblance there.

I reckon Naomi Harris as AR. I'm drawing a blank on EJB, though.

Tallisker · 16/06/2022 19:50

Oh I really wish I could see this, just to put faces and voices to names . Not just this one but all of them. Hearing people speak, seeing people move etc gives so much more weigh to their words on here and other platforms.

DeaconBoo · 16/06/2022 20:42

Can we not be dicks about anyone's appearance, please?

User76745333 · 16/06/2022 21:34

just to check - is this like a grand jury in that a decision will be made if the case can go forward

I’ve not dialled in and so don’t know the details (although I am interested in the substantive hearing since I have a couple of cases on similar points) but it’s a preliminary hearing only. A prelim like this is held when there are points that need to be determined in advance of the hearing. For example, in disability discrimination claims we often have a hearing first to determine whether the claimants condition amounts to a disability. This is because there is no point in hearing lots of evidence about alleged discrimination if they don’t have a condition that qualifies as a disability in the first place. This hearing was I believe about which respondents are relevant respondents. One or more might be removed as parties (although this is quite unusual unless it is really clear that there is a good legal reason for doing so).

Lovelyricepudding · 16/06/2022 22:13

But you can suffer disability discrimination with no disability if you are perceived to have a disability (same with other protected characteristics)

User76745333 · 16/06/2022 22:19

That’s completely irrelevant to the example I gave. In a perceived discrimination case (and they are very uncommon) it would be pleaded as perceived discrimination and so there would be no need for a preliminary hearing to determine the issue of whether the claimants condition amounts to a disability

How is saying someone bears a resemblance to another person, being a dick?

Thank you for this explanation

Chrysanthemum5 · 17/06/2022 09:09

Ah so that's why RMW made the joke about not being needed at the next stage - hoping RNW's client will be removed from the case. And I guess that explains all the weird questions about whether James knew what a feduciary relationship was and the business with plumbers and Russian grain. Still makes no real sense but I guess I can see what the attempt was

Pomtiddly · 03/07/2022 12:42

Anybody know when we will find out about the outcome of this preliminary hearing/when the next stage will be? It seemed to finish up in the air..

Howappropriate · 04/07/2022 19:25

Anyone else looking forward to future discussions with RMW here on FWR? 😆
