I imagine she probably is in real distress and thinking she's being persecuted right now (she isn't, but I can see how she feels that way). What she needs is someone close to her to take her phone away from her for 48 hours until she can see reason again. It's been morbidly fascinating seeing how she just hasn't stopped digging this whole weekend.

What do you mean "See reason again?" Anyone coming out with that batshit stuff without excuse of being pissed/stoned is not capable of reason in the first place.

littlbrowndog · 29/05/2022 22:48

Cripes she’s still going on and on

i mean at some point you would put your phone down and go,enough

but no.

I dunno why she would do this to herself

Redshoeblueshoe · 29/05/2022 22:54

I hope her children are not at home, sounds like one hell of a bender to me. She's just blocked Frances Barber

PrelateChuckles · 29/05/2022 22:54

Did she really post the Loretta scene?! Where the guy wants to be a woman so he can have babies, but they realise he can't, so they agree to fight for the right for him to have babies?

littlbrowndog · 29/05/2022 23:03

Aye she did

As far as I understand it, New Labour almost entirely purged the civil service when they came to power. Loads of people were made redundant, and new people brought in who didn't fully understand the way things worked, nor the implications of certain policy positions.

They lost so much experience with that strategy done because they thought the civil service was "Tory" and would stand in their way that they then had to bring some people back as 'consultants' to get the work done.

But it enabled to do certain things, like expand PFI practice into the public sector, without the civil service shutting it down because it would ultimately cripple the state, which is exactly what it has done. It's notable that the people who had significant reservations about the GRA in the HOL were former politicians that had worked at a high level within government. They understood the need to think about the domino effect.

Why would Labour need to purge the Civil Service to enact PFI? It was brought in by the Tories.

I don't know that 48 hours is going to do it. I think she needs to step away from Twitter for a good six months. I'm not being facetious, either, it's not good for people, that site.

I am boggling at this.

All of it actually.

It has been a Stella-r few days (chuckles at terrible joke)

Found this gem on Twitter - twitter.com/mocent0/status/1531026147424747521?s=20&t=DvFWfwdFGqlmF1YUo_XoQQ

Even so.....why would you take an axe to the civil service? They were literally queing up to applaud Robin Cook on the steps of the Foreign Office for example

TrailWhale · 30/05/2022 07:41

Is there a way to write a formal complaint regarding your elected MP?

tabbycatstripy · 30/05/2022 08:01

There should be somewhere people like SC can go to recover from the indoctrination. Just cups of tea, classical music and wildlife documentaries for at least six weeks.

Deliriumoftheendless · 30/05/2022 08:08

At this point I can hear Marlon Brando screaming “Stellaaaaaaaa!” from beyond the grave.

every picture of that scene looks like he’s been reading her Twitter.

SerotinaPickeler · 30/05/2022 08:18

Hole, digging, don't vote for Labour. Repeat until listened to.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 30/05/2022 08:27

I think she knows perfectly well. Honestly I think she's just getting a kick trolling then crying victim.

Quite.

RoyalCorgi · 30/05/2022 08:31

Stella has just delivered a masterclass in how to dig your own political grave. I'm sure it will be used in media training sessions for politicians for years to come.

There was much to enjoy, but some personal faves:

  1. Insisting that she'd met Labour Women's Declaration in 2018, and them gently pointing out that they didn't exist in 2018.
  2. Insulting all the women's groups - made up of people who are prospective voters - by comparing them to the People's Front of Judea.
  3. Taking umbrage at JKR's tweet about "luxury beliefs", which she decided was aimed at her, even though JKR didn't mention any names. As Lucy Masoud said, If the cap fits...
Bdragon · 30/05/2022 08:40

Just caught up with Creasy's tweets. She's coming across as someone who thinks a bit of glib surface knowledge goes a long way, and that everyone is a lot thicker than she is.

Posts about People's Front of Judaea as in her head it represents a silly faction bumbling around, not realising it actually reflects her own views.

Posts about being hysterical, knowing how offensive it is but expecting it to fly under the radar and not be picked up for its full meaning.

She's an embarrassment, and I'm one of her constituents. I've voted for her previously, but cannot do so again based on her current views.

TrailWhale · 30/05/2022 08:41

The really baffling thing about this is it was in Stella's constituency that one of the gender-neutral toilet assaults occurred. So assaults from shared-sex spaces have already happened "on her own turf" yet she has no intention of engaging with the issues that caused it.

NecessaryScene · 30/05/2022 08:44

It's just bizarrely dismissive considering her job - "I can't possibly meet with more than one group on a subject, or be expected to even tell them apart, and remember precisely who I've spoken to. I'm a busy politician! With a baby!"

Agreed. It is foolish of her. And of course it misrepresents the situation as if these women's groups are all squabbling with each other like far-left factions, when in fact they largely collaborate with each other, but just have a different focus. Woman's Place UK has happily platformed Maya Forstater, for example, and hosted a joint meeting with Fair Play for Women.

TrailWhale · 30/05/2022 09:13

"Hello. I have tried to respond to your points on here, and to those who support you. I have also said I will meet. Can I ask now that you stop copying me into your messages and ask your supporters to stop as well as my timeline still impossible to read? Thanks." - Stella Creasy.

Why should organisations ask women not to contact an MP?

IncompleteSenten · 30/05/2022 09:24

Does she not understand the job of an MP?
