Mary Anning Staue and Suffragette colours - they've removed them!!

Mary Anning Rocks campaigned for and have now successfully installed a statue to the amazing Mary Anning (love her as am into fossils and feminism). Hooray to that!

They have now apologised on the twitter for putting suffragette coloured ribbons on her as they 'didn't realise they were associated with anti-trans views' 🙄

I feel a bit sorry for them as there were clearly lobbied from one side and are now getting it handed to them on a plate about how ridiculous this is.

What the actual fuck? We’re not allowed to celebrate the fucking suffragettes now? 😧🤬

Don't worry - Katy Mongomerie is going to take them back for woman.

We really should be grateful that we have got her as a wonderful feminist..........

Why do people believe everything these lunatics say, and give into their misogynistic demands? It's all the time these days people need a bloody backbone.

I've left an angry comment on their Twitter thread and suggest anyone still on the Hell site, do the same. How fucking dare they! Angry

I'd imagine the ribbons will return.
Women will put them back.

Didn't realise they suffragette colours had been "co-opted" by anti-trans groups!

Speechless. Some heartening replies though.

I've got family at that end of the country. I think they're due a visit. Wonder how many ribbons I can fit in my overly large suitcase?

Why are these people so fucking desperate to give everything away to the first person who demands it? They do not get to say women now can't use these colours. No fucking way.

Are they saying that trans rights are incompatible with women's rights, then?

Would they like to relinquish the right to vote in case its noted that's 'anti trans' for women to do, by some randoms on the internet?

I hope this isn't a silly question but I've always wondered why the corporate rainbow and trans colours/flags are incorporated into logos that companies use on their signatures and social media don't contain suffragette colours? Why is that?

Because women don't matter?

Because there's a massively funded drive and push for the trans agenda (big pharmaceutical and big tech capitalists) which was conveniently added to the Pride rainbow colours? (Before they became toxic and didn't stand for actual gay people)?

As an oppressed group you'd think they'd be crying out to have the suffragette colours represented too.

Mary Anning does indeed rock Smile

Because women have got the right to vote and should therefore shut up and continue to centre the males, who are after all more important.

Don't be angry with the Mary Anning Rocks people though - the girl who made this happen was only 10 when she started the campaign and is now 13. Let's not make her lose her enthusiasm! She deserves all the 👏🏼 for her achievement.

It's a gorgeous sculpture, and a lovely campaign. They should be very proud. That's lovely to hear about the girl who made it happen.

We cannot offend males in dresses. Remember, they are the oppressed now 🙄

What on earth could be perceived as "anti trans" in that tweet that supposedly triggered the DM complaint about the ribbons??

I'd guess the "women celebrating being women"

Which makes no sense because TRAs think transwomen are women.

Ffs, just every little thing has to be about them; that tiny minority who try, and succeed way too often, to put fear into anyone who remembers our past or fights for our future. I just don't understand how they have controlled so many for so long yet holding no real power at all. It sickens and terrifies me.

And her tweet from 6 days previously complains about sexism and unfair treatment of women. Then she complains about a suffragette ribbon? I don't get it.

I agree - we catch more flies with honey than vinegar. An angry pile-on just gets people's backs up.
