Transwoman claims Tampax have offered sponsorship

Dylan, currently on 'Day 47 of being a girl' claims Tampax have been in touch.

www.instagram.com/p/CbiQWjUpXXd/

Why?

'Dylan was using a public restroom when a fellow woman called out if she had a tampon, Dylan shyly replying ‘no’.
Afterwards, she decided to buy some to keep in the house and in her purse for all her girlfriends, ending the video with “women support women.” It seemed that Tampax were quite interested in working with Dylan afterwards. What an incredible outcome!'

I have just binged on a few videos and I did wonder if it's someone trolling, however, I think not.

She seems very, very vulnerable.

Imissmoominmama · 28/04/2022 20:48

I wonder whether Dylan carries a supply of Tena Lady, for us oldies with knackered pelvic floors.

Perhaps that would mess with his romantic idea of the sisterhood- wrinkly and smelling ever so slightly of piss…

Mandodari · 28/04/2022 20:49

@AngelicaElizaAndPeggy
Why, because I pointed out the truth?

Vile and transphobic - congrats

Artichokeleaves · 28/04/2022 20:54

Oh for goodness sake.

No, men identifying as men do not carry around menstrual products in case suddenly they can be the hero for a woman in need. They really don't. This is pure fantasy, and I'd really rather it wasn't inflicted on women who didn't consent to be part of other people's personal experiences. Consent is a thing.

BonesJones · 28/04/2022 20:54

The one and only time I've ever been asked for a tampon was by a man! Not a pretending to be a woman man, man with a massive nosebleed. I didn't but I asked behind the bar for some tissue instead. Maybe tampax will want to talk to me now, since men and women sharing tampax experiences is an angle they want to pursue 🤣

catandcoffee · 28/04/2022 21:03

Well I am obviously just crap at "being a girl " as I've not cried once today, let alone three times. 🙄

Haha me either, I’m useless. I used toner for the first time last week…figured I should try to keep my skin in good condition before I get old and wrinkled

Wow…a lot of snidey bs on here today.

Dylan may not menstruate but by having a tampon on hand she is potentially not only helping a fellow woman out if they are in need, and probably feeling more included by being part of the process.

I’ve heard of many a cis-gendered male carrying sanitary products in their cars or bags, just in case one of their friends gets caught out…they always get talked about like heroes for their understanding. I don’t get why people are being so mean about a transgendered female doing the same…

Maybe a lot of people should take a look at themselves and remember the old adage ‘if you have don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.’

Pretty much every woman on here has said they've never asked for a tampon so do not require anyone's help- but you happen to know men who carry them round just in case they get asked??? Really??? Sounds fucking creepy to me. If women are going to ask someone then they're going to ask a women, it definitely wouldn't occur to any woman be yelling it out to all and sundry in the office......or to ask a man. But us silly girls would be very lucky to have men think about these things on our behalf and carry boxes of tampons round in their cars - what heroes!!

TBH I think if you can't say anything truthful then you shouldn't say anything at all.

It is NOT transphobic (which has lost all meaning anyway, as it's the battle cry of the handmaidens) to suggest that men who think so much about periods and period products, wonder who might be having their period and need products, like to hand out said products IN THE WOMEN'S bathrooms, have some kind of unnatural interest (unless they're a gynaecologist) in menstruation.
Why would that be?
As for the male "friend" who carries sanpro for their friends, while I would still suggest this is not the norm, the problem is that this "Dylan" person is doing it while women are in their OWN bathroom, at what is probably quite a vulnerable and potentially embarrassing moment.
Don't try to make out it's normal for men to frolic around with baskets of tampons for their female pals.
It's not.

Anyway, thread deletion imminent. The magic word has already been spoken.

GertrudeKerfuffle · 28/04/2022 21:18

I'm sure this thread will go the same way as others on this subject.

Anyway, my theory is that the person asking for a tampon in the stall next to Dylan was also a transwoman looking for validation. What a gender-confirming coincidence that would be!

WhiteFire · 28/04/2022 21:18

I am not here to make others feel included in 'the process', if I am in the loo I am there to do what one usually does there. Virtually everyone on this thread and the last have never been asked and have never asked, so there is no need for Dylan or any men to be carrying them around. I don't need a 'hero' to save me. As a PP said individually we have been dealing with this for many years, we know what to do, and that does not involve asking our male friends and random people in the loo.

BackAgain777 · 28/04/2022 21:21

Yes. Almost as if you're a bit-player in the role playing fantasy of someone else, no?

Noone asks their male friends for tampons or asks their " fellow women" for tampons in public toilets. It just doesnt happen.
Male fantasy.

HermioneKipper · 28/04/2022 21:23

Also never been asked for a tampon in the 25 years I’ve been having periods.

And they say it’s not a fetish

Are you also doing 'satire', Hutchy?

This comment says it all:

Growing up all I wanted was to be a boy, I was going to join the army and drive a tank. These days it's non-binary, back then was androgynous. I'm sexually straight, married and have a child. I still don't identify as female, nothing so called "feminine" about me

FGS! You do not have to be feminine to be a woman and if you’re a male person there’s nothing stopping you being feminine either.

Dylan says “That was back when I knew very much that I wanted to be a girl or some version of feminine”. I find it incredibly sad that Dylan and people like Dylan feel they have to find the right label in order to have permission to be feminine. Why on Earth is Dylan paying any attention to gender norms like that? It’s so regressive.

As for the tampons, I’ve never been asked for one either. It just sounds so sad - in both senses of the word.

TwoWayMirror · 28/04/2022 21:26

Never known a male in my life to carry tampons either, in fact many women consider themselves lucky if their partner in will even buy it for them without complaint which says it all.

DomesticatedZombie · 28/04/2022 21:26

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 28/04/2022 20:32

I have looked at a few more videos (I've not heard of this person before and am intrigued).

I just cannot believe this is real. The 'Day 1 of being a girl' video is just a total piss take. I wonder if this is someone trolling as part of some sort of experiment to see how batshit the ideology actually is and how captured people really are?

Conveniently, when confronted about sexist bullshit, Dylan says 'this video is satire comedy!'

WHAT? Like bollocks you have heard of that! 😂

I have had a couple of people ask for a tampon or towel when they have had an emergency, but these were friends not strangers in a public toilet. I use a mooncup now, so anyone asking me would be out of luck because guess what, people that don't use tampons don't tend to carry them round with them just in case someone else needs them. Especially not blokes.

This is straight up appropriation of womanhood. It would be completely unacceptable for any other class of people, so why is it OK for women?
