Transwoman claims Tampax have offered sponsorship

Dylan, currently on 'Day 47 of being a girl' claims Tampax have been in touch.

www.instagram.com/p/CbiQWjUpXXd/

Why?

'Dylan was using a public restroom when a fellow woman called out if she had a tampon, Dylan shyly replying ‘no’.
Afterwards, she decided to buy some to keep in the house and in her purse for all her girlfriends, ending the video with “women support women.” It seemed that Tampax were quite interested in working with Dylan afterwards. What an incredible outcome!'

😂 that’s hilarious LOL. I must remember to carry tampax in case my girlfriends need one. I can shout “ooh me me me me! I HAVE A TAMPAX!”

sorry but this is quite funny.

Rinatinabina · 28/04/2022 20:02

honestly if someone who didn’t have periods was carrying around a box of tampax a “just in case” I’d think it was a fetish or they were like poisoned or something.

Spectre8 · 28/04/2022 20:02

WTAF why IS Dylan referring themselves as a girl. They are an adult! Documenting girlhood whilst being an adult is crazy and bit creepy if I've honest.

And who carries tampons for other women! You carry it for yourself cos noone in all my years has ever asked. I mean most if not all public toilets have sanitary machines so you can buy it yourself.

I look forward to Dylan doucmenting all the sexism they've faced being a girl/woman. The glass ceiling they've encountered and how at work being woman means your often told your sensitive etc. You know the real challenges us women face

Jojoanna · 28/04/2022 20:06

Ridiculous! Stupid Dylan

Yep - I’ve seen it lots of times now - it’s a fantasy linked to a fetish

CompleteGinasaur · 28/04/2022 20:10

I've never been asked, or indeed asked, for any kind of sanpro in the women's. But I've got a theory. If you do indeed get caught short in this fashion (I never did before my menopause, was so indoctrinated into exactly how humiliating this would be that, like every other bleeding woman I know, I made sure I was more than adequately equipped at all likely times..) then you look round the loo and realise - hallelujah! - that you are in the presence of a bloke. Gender pay gap being what it is, you know that they are more likely to have spare cash for complete luxuries than actual women have for necessities and so you ask him first.

(The alternative would be that they are lying through their teeth in service of a very grubby fantasy, and I can't believe that that could possibly be true, could it...?)

AlisonDonut · 28/04/2022 20:13

Then real life eclipses any satire, then you know we are in clown land.

BackAgain777 · 28/04/2022 20:14

Guys, you're wasting your time on this thread.
In the nicest possible way.
This is the fifth or sixth thread (maybe more) about men and periods in the last two weeks which has been deleted (this one will be too).

We all know men don't have periods.
We all know transwomen (being men) don't have periods.

It seems that, however, we are not allowed to discuss that on a women's forum.
Also, we are not permitted to discuss WHY a man would be so "interested" in periods, period products, talking about periods and offering period products to women.

This thread is already on borrowed time guys.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 28/04/2022 20:17

Yeah have they bollox!

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 28/04/2022 20:19

This so bizarre - this stuff is so offensive I assumed it was spoof ('Day 47 of being a girl, and I'm hiking in a pleather skirt because you never know who you're gonna meet') but it's not spoof. But because this guy is so 'positive' and 'sweet' it's all fine?

A woman called Amala Ekpunobi has done a podcast on Dylan, making perfectly reasonable points about how this is offensive and demeaning for women. And all she has in the comments is a tonne of criticism.

How is this OK? Why the fuck do we have to accept this?

nepeta · 28/04/2022 20:23

Dylan's first day as a 'girl' certainly strikes me as a parody. She cried three times, puts lip gloss on and so on.

Mandodari · 28/04/2022 20:25

Sure you can't go near a woman's public toilet without being deafened by the cries of, sister can you spare me a tampon.

nepeta · 28/04/2022 20:25

That we are not allowed to notice that what Dylan posts is sexist and ill-informed about actual womanhood is a direct consequence of the 'womenz be kind and silence terfs' campaigns.

AnyFucker · 28/04/2022 20:25

Gawd, the handmaidens are out in force on that instagram feed

embarassing

MoiraQueen · 28/04/2022 20:27

I've seen their Bored Panda articles and video, they are cringey but the comments section is overwhelmingly fawning, unless they are censored.

Mandodari · 28/04/2022 20:29

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 28/04/2022 19:00

I dunno, I've just looked at Dylan's Instagram and she's kind of joyous; I'm finding it hard to hate on this, really.

I just looked at it too and she's kind of a 30+ year old male.

Scooby5kids · 28/04/2022 20:29

Anyone who has ever bled out their vagina is fully aware they're bleeding out their vagina without someone being their personal tampax caddy 🤣🤣🤣 Jesus Christ! Whatever next? Is this real?

I mean I get it, if it makes someone feel more feminine to carry tampax in their purse for their own confidence, go for it, it's not harming anyone. But don't start advising bleeding women on how to work their own bleeding vaginas. We've had to deal with it since high school, were professionals 🤣🤣🤣

echoechoechoecho · 28/04/2022 20:30

the things people do for attention!

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 28/04/2022 20:32

I have looked at a few more videos (I've not heard of this person before and am intrigued).

I just cannot believe this is real. The 'Day 1 of being a girl' video is just a total piss take. I wonder if this is someone trolling as part of some sort of experiment to see how batshit the ideology actually is and how captured people really are?

PlinkPlankPlunk · 28/04/2022 20:33

Mandodari · 28/04/2022 20:25

I know it’s totally not funny but this made me laugh. You just have to laugh really. Or cry (like a girl)

Musomama1 · 28/04/2022 20:38

Lol in 25 years of menstruating never asked or been asked for a tampon in the bogs.

Like every other woman caught short, you just roll the available loo roll around your knicker gusset until you can sort yourself out properly.

Although my properly these days is just to use a flannel folded in half. Sod it.

IsItShining · 28/04/2022 20:44

using them as a face for tampons
…umm
…that’s an image I’m not sure I wanted

Isitcake · 28/04/2022 20:44

I was asked for a tampon once, by my SIL, in my house.

Don't think I would ask for one in the toilets, just use toilet roll like a normal person?

Hutchy16 · 28/04/2022 20:45

Wow…a lot of snidey bs on here today.

Dylan may not menstruate but by having a tampon on hand she is potentially not only helping a fellow woman out if they are in need, and probably feeling more included by being part of the process.

I’ve heard of many a cis-gendered male carrying sanitary products in their cars or bags, just in case one of their friends gets caught out…they always get talked about like heroes for their understanding. I don’t get why people are being so mean about a transgendered female doing the same…

Maybe a lot of people should take a look at themselves and remember the old adage ‘if you have don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.’

Mandodari · 28/04/2022 20:45

@PlinkPlankPlunk

If you can't laugh at the absurdity of the situation you would go mad. I joined these boards this week after being patronised about the menopause by a bloke who says he is a woman. Then you see crap by some male flitting around with pigtails making out he is some hero by carrying tampons around with him. Wonder if he carries other things in his purse to help his fellow women in need, things like, tights, cigarettes, crack cocaine etc or does he just confine his sisterly concerns to period products.
