The twitter account for the theatre group behind the Family Sex Show (@ThisEgg_) has revealed that there are performances planned of the Family Sex Show despite the cancellation of the national tour and they are looking for more venues to take them on.
It seems that the Bath performance(s) is/are running.

The site about the show also smells of prioritising male concerns and male sexuality. We are reminded, in bold print, that not only women have vulvas and that not all women haved a vulva, but we are not reminded about anything in the discussion of penises (penii?). So men get to keep the penis and also get the vulva.

And clitoris in this song is described by someone who doesn't have one.

technically there is no such thing as an alto voice. an alto part can be sung by a male or female with the appropriate vocal range. In context, my guess would be that the "alto voice" would actually be a mezzo soprano ie a female

namechange9357 · 21/04/2022 14:40

I reluctantly taught my DD the name for the clitoris when she was about 2 because she kept asking me what it was called. She already knew she had a vulva.... but I didn't relish the thought of her telling my mother in law she had a clitoris. She couldn't remember the word anyway and called it her "willy vulva".

she was fascinated with it for a few weeks and now hasn't mentioned it for about 4 years. this seems pretty normal to me - I shouldn't think she'll need a name for it for a few more years?

tabbycatstripy · 21/04/2022 17:03

‘I shouldn't think she'll need a name for it for a few more years?’

Well exactly. Children (like they do with nearly all learning) move from the general to the specific in terms of their understanding of their bodies. It’s not that it’s intrinsically disgusting to tell a child what a clitoris is. It’s that a 5 year old female doesn’t need to know. And she REALLY doesn’t need to a detailed mental schema of a penis.

It’s about age-appropriateness. If you don’t get that, and you insist on presenting young children with material about “pre-cum” and the “shaft” of the penis, it’s probably because you’re a porn-sick creep.

I have reported the website content, past and current (as opposed to the stage show) to:

NSPCC
CEOP (part of National Crime Agency)
Avon and Somerset police
Internet Watch Foundation
Stop It Now

And, as they have been supporters, I have asked about the continued involvement of:

Arts Council
National Lottery
Theatre Royal Bath

theDudesmummy

Excellent.

theDudesmummy · 21/04/2022 18:34

Nine people so far have reported to CEOP (well the social worker there told me that at 1pm today, so there may be more by now, she was also the one who said to contact Avon and Somerset police, which I had already done). Some are definitely Mumsnetters.

tabbycatstripy · 21/04/2022 18:36

Good. One should be enough, it’s not meant to be a referendum.

theDudesmummy · 21/04/2022 19:00

Just to remind you (apologies for the sickening nature of this), we have been here before. Listen to the end. TFSS are THE SAME PEOPLE, just in more colourful clothes! The arguments are exactly the same.

Thank you Dude, I'm now thinking of reporting a couple of online school resources belonging to art galleries to ceop. I've complained directly to the gallery but got no response.

The arts council need to get their act together. I'm aware that galleries are also starting to widen their bandwidth of what is classed as diversity, and jumping on the queer bandwagon.

Also, the arts council run Artsmark for schools as well as art awards. The arts mark requires a detailed analysis of a project against set criteria, one of which is diversity. They like Artsmark to include arts awards.

Arts awards require children to find out about artists, arts venues, visit and even interview artists (of all sorts.) since the pandemic it can also be online research, zoom etc . I can well imagine an extreme type of teacher not seeing an issue with asking these performers to chat to kids.

theDudesmummy · 21/04/2022 19:07

Great. As we all know here, this has fuck all to do with diversity and eveything to do with MAPs and child sex abuse. (unless and until the MAPs become a protected group...)

WarriorN · 21/04/2022 19:11

They don't specify what "diversity" is but you have to demonstrate that "diversity policies" are embedded throughout the school and the arts.

PonyPatter44 · 21/04/2022 19:16

@theDudesmummy you are doing a sterling job here. Brava!

Which I think is far more imminent than previously expected.

@theDudesmummy thank you Flowers

FrancescaContini · 22/04/2022 10:01

Very well done, @theDudesmummy

Datun · 22/04/2022 11:40

That Benjamin Boyce video is good. He analyses all the contradictions, not least of which is how they claim it's a small minority of extremists who are objecting, while simultaneously asserting that they are pushing back against 'society and societal structure'. So that'll be everyone then.

And the constant reiteration of touching and pleasuring, connected to sex. Even what to do if someone feels sad - straight to the touching!

And I understand the conjecture as to whether they are useful idiots, or just predators. There are dozens of them, apparently. And I'm willing to bet that at least some of them know exactly what they're doing.

Bloody well done @theDudesmummy

DomesticatedZombie · 22/04/2022 11:49

I had a look at the show's cast and people associated with it.

ThisEgg is two women, Josie Dale-Jones and Gayathiri Kamalakanthan; the latter also works for The School of Sex Education.

There are another two men who are associated with lyrics/writing and production. One of them, Laurence Cook, works for the BBC and has toured a show about pornography. The other, John Biddle, seems to have written many of the lyrics.

A core of four people, basically. Lots of others associated, but these seem to be the main people involved.

Liveliferun · 22/04/2022 13:49

Is that why the BBC isn’t reporting this in an impartial manner?

nauticant · 22/04/2022 14:23

Here's one of the relevant archives:

web.archive.org/web/YOU NEED TO REPLACE THIS TEXT WITH AN ASTERISK, NO SPACES/schoolofsexed.org*

nauticant · 22/04/2022 14:23

Here's another one:

archive.ph/schoolofsexed.org/*

nauticant · 22/04/2022 14:27

In case the second of my two posts is deleted, if you go onto the ph archive site and paste in schoolofsexed.org/* you'll be presented with a list of archived pages.

FrancescaContini · 22/04/2022 16:10

So it was a man who wrote the lyrics to the song about finding and touching your clitoris?

🙄 quelle surprise

The School of Sex Education came up here some months ago. They teach sex education within the gender identity ideology only. I remember noticing the erasure of the female sex on their site then. So schools which hire them get only one particular belief system (the gender identity one) but it will be taught as facts.

Cheekymaw · 22/04/2022 18:34

Thanks to those who have reported this. Yep it's PIE back and seems more tolerated scarily enough than they were years ago. Why are these people not under arrest for attempting to show children pornographic material ? Surely grooming as well? And why have their hard drives not been raided??

theDudesmummy · 22/04/2022 18:49

I am hoping against hope that they will be arrested (not the performers/the creators). I have made two reports now to the police, two to CEOP, two to the NSPCC and two to the IWF. (One each about the show/website material, and about the Tweet/podcast material).
