Those photos are so joyful and full of care for each other. I guess that's why certain people are absolutely full of rage on Twitter.

Not a lesbian but I've had a crush on Liane ever since that demo where the iconic picture of her was taken.

MalagaNights · 11/04/2022 19:38

These photos make me really happy and quite emotional.
The bravery and tenacity of those women, doing this for all women.

I keep hoping there'll be some event, a call to all women where we can converge and celebrate and chant "JK Rowling" and thank these women and all women.

I was with my 75 year old telegraph reading mother at the weekend who said "I've never marched for anything in my life but I'd march for the definition of a women."

I'd love something to be organised!!
A very big lunch 😁!

FOJN · 11/04/2022 19:41

I love how public they have been with the pictures, they know the message it sends. It's wonderful to see them being joyful whilst sending such a powerful message.

buckeejit · 11/04/2022 19:42

These photos have totally made my day. So happy to see these great women together.

I would have been happy just to be a fly on the wall. Solidarity!

FunnyTalks · 11/04/2022 19:45

Oh wow I bet they're really fun to hang out with, as well as being brave, intelligent, and genuinely progressive. Huge crushes!

LuckySantangelo35 · 11/04/2022 19:56

Fabulous women ❤️

musicalfrog · 11/04/2022 20:02

It's really bringing out the worst in some on Twitter. Clearly touched a nerve with India W. And have you seen Rosie Jones' reaction? Actually shocking. Shock

Waitwhat23 · 11/04/2022 20:04

What, Rosie's 'angry, mad cry'? 🙄

I hadn't seen the photo of Liane until yesterday. She's utterly brilliant - in that photo she gave absolutely 0 fucks.

Some genius on Twitter was citing that as evidence that Liane was an ex-TRA.

CervixSampler · 11/04/2022 20:16

The page is down so I can't access the glorious tweets. This makes me wish I'd not taken down my GC post on SM yesterday. I need more of their bravery.

I agree, I’ve never seen a picture of JK looking so informal. They really do send such an important message, she’s not shutting up and she’s going nowhere.

What are they saying @musicalfrog I am not on Twitter
Rubidium · 11/04/2022 20:22

@EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn

Could you not send one of your little wingéd cherubs with a message, Datun? It would be a bit like owl post. Grin Suzanne Moore’s said she’s going to write about it in the Telegraph tomorrow.
Suzanne Moore's article is here: www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/truth-raucous-lunch-jk-rowling/

They were at The River Cafe apparently - very nice!

(I can't access the article, unfortunately, it's paywalled)

Maya Angelou reading Phenomenal Woman has you covered without a march.

@LuckySantangelo35 this was one of India's most spiteful,nasty tweets - mobile.twitter.com/IndiaWilloughby/status/1513542899367137282

LuckySantangelo35 · 11/04/2022 20:38

Thanks @Waitwhat23

It’s is absolutely disgraceful, like you say such a nasty tweet

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 11/04/2022 20:57

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

This is the wonderful picture of Liane.
Damn, I wanted to show the picture of Liane again. It needs to be a poster, and if I were a young feminist again it would be blu-tacked up in pride of place on my wall.
RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 11/04/2022 21:00

Great photos of great women

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/04/2022 21:03

Here's Jess de Wahls' embroidery of it. I wonder who was lucky enough to buy that!

That's embroidery?!
CervixSampler · 11/04/2022 21:08

It's payday soon, I think I'll pre-order the latest Robert Galbraith. I'm currently reading her third and have her fourth waiting on the shelf. Ds is 7 and the right age for starting to read the Harry Potter series to him. I did it for his sisters when I was pregnant with him. I feel the need to buy supportive feminist items. JKR and covers just fecking awesome.

MamaSaidTheredBeDaysLikeThis · 11/04/2022 21:20

@LuckySantangelo35

I’ve attached a picture. There’s been some horrible misogyny and lesbophobia but this is just bonkers.

Wish I was at this lunch
littlbrowndog · 11/04/2022 21:20

India what a tube she is and so jealous she wasn’t invited. So green with envy

ScreamingMeMe · 11/04/2022 21:22

The TRAS and allies are going quite nutty over this. Crying??? Really???

At least one of them had a stab at telling others "maybe don't be misogynistic" and tbf she did get some agreement, but also some disagreement. It's a start I suppose.

twitter.com/TouchMyTeapot/status/1513496275349557251?s=20&t=lZ8r0wehgGCUoQ8u-HAHTA

"Cannot be bothered to call out people individually, but some of you are far too comfortable making fun of the way gender critical women look. It's literally misogyny, guys. I know you're better than this."

Hate to say it, Rin, but a lot of them are not better than this.
