Yep, Roses, I think we all agree it's politically savvy. No one here is naively saying, "Ah, aren't they wonderful, I didn't realise," you know. So how should women vote, if this is the hill we'd die on? And please don't say choose another hill.
It’s not about choosing another hill to die on.
It’s about choosing what the least bad.
For me Johnson has all the hallmarks of someone who is slowly but surely implementing a dictatorial system, erasing all form of dissents (see Chanel 4 , right to protest, justice system on its knees etc…) whilst keeping the population poor so their concerns are about putting food in the table/surviving rather than ‘rights’.
LD and Labour have their own issues but at least I’m holding the hope that things can be changed with public pressure. Whereas I don’t with BJ.
I also don’t believe women’s right will be anything but protected if our human rights charter is being disbanded.
Basically I’m choosing not to ignore the consequences of supporting someone who has proven how ruthless he is and how little care he has for us, the population (let alone women).
Plus if I’m honest, is he not going to do yet another U turn, like he has done on so many subjects? Can anyone rely on him doing what he said he was going to do?
