A male Tory MP has released a statement on Twitter that they are transgender, and also that a couple of years ago they were raped.
It's a brave statement.

I hope Jamie is getting the mental health support that Jamie needs.

MangyInseam · 30/03/2022 12:22

Sounds like an unreliable person who shouldn't be an MP. And I would tend to keep an open mind as to whether he's being truthful about anything he says.

Thoosa · 30/03/2022 12:22

According to this he wants to continue to be referred to as he/him/his for the time being anyway.

Trans ideology belongs on the right just as much as it does on the left. Strip away the oppression Olympics aspect and it is grounded in old fashioned sexist stereotypes, preaching individual identity, individual choice and consumerism over an understanding of class analysis.

Wouldn't it be funny if Labour realised the force of ordinary public opinion and found a way of dumping it at the Conservative's feet? Not beyond the realms of possibility. After all the GRA was under a Conservative government and the Equality act 2010 is Labour's.

‘Otherwise the order of events and the blackmail don’t make sense.’

Otherwise I need a refund from the optician.

SirVixofVixHall · 30/03/2022 12:24

@PronounssheRa

The Sugar-Daddy.net business offered people introductions to wealthy individuals, saying: "We can introduce you to your very own sugar daddy and solve your money worries.

"Whether you're a boy, girl, straight or gay, there's a sugar daddy for you."

Pimping dressed up as something else.
The idea that someone who was involved in this kind of thing will ever care about women's rights is laughable.

This. Very sleazy man. The rape is a separate issue and obviously I have sympathy for anyone who has experienced this, but he isn’t remotely suitable as an MP due to his behaviour.

Jamie does not seem to be in a good place in his life at the moment and I hope he gets the support he needs to deal with the ongoing effects of the attack he endured.
I don't think anyone would begrudge him stepping down from his role as MP while he gets himself in a better place mentally.

I wonder whether the people aiming to be the first trans MP will be congratulating him on his announcement and offering him support? Any news from Heather and Eddie yet?

EndaDay · 30/03/2022 12:29

Rishi Sunak refused on Talk Radio to define a woman, despite being asked several times. He shit talked that Boris Johnson had earlier given a great answer to that but couldn't recall it enough to repeat it.

Yvette Cooper-Labour- was asked on Times Radio what a woman was and she shit talked that "(she) wasn't going down that rabbit hole"!

Don't vote for any of these fuckers.

Spoil your ballot paper with I AM A WOMAN BORN written across it in red.

thewatermeloncarriedbybaby · 30/03/2022 12:30

This all really bothers me - the plaudits online and from so many politicians saying how stunning and brave he is; most are not applauding him for being open about having severe mental health problems and getting help with them (gender dysphoria and PTSD), they are praising him for saying he's trans, ie, is really a woman. It's appalling.

He knew this is how people would react, that's why he's done it.

SmellyOldOwls · 30/03/2022 12:33

Keir Starmer should seize this opportunity to turn his ridiculous policies around and begin the business of promising to protect women and girls. The Tories now have a trans person right in the heart of government and I'd be surprised if that doesn't eventually result in an influence on policy regarding self id and protected spaces.

OrdinaryWoman · 30/03/2022 12:35

@AlisonDonut

A woman says they were raped and they get ripped apart, and told they are weaponising their trauma.

A man though. What a totally different world they inhabit.

You are absolutely right.
oakleaffy · 30/03/2022 12:36

@springtimeishereagain

Hmm, another man coming out as trans and then we find out he's been involved with sleaze. Sticking to the script so far.
Sounds par for the course. More Tory sleaze- A sugardaddy site for students is just gross. Profiting from students trading “ Company” for cash.
BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2022 12:36

@dworky

If he's been raped, I wish him the best but I also take what he says with a pinch of salt. He's an exploitative, misogynist liar.
Yes.

Also, Jamie has posted on Twitter
"For the time being, I will continue to present as I always have and will use he/him/his pronouns."

So, no change there then. Jamie will continue to be his true self.
One wonders what the whole point of Jamie's stunning and brave confession could possibly be?

No, actually, one doesn't.

Unformidable · 30/03/2022 12:37

aahhh, 'the other definition of biological", good point!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/03/2022 12:38

It's an odd one. He's 'coming out' as trans but continuing to present as male and use him/he? He's not really coming out then, is he?

And agree that anybody who's lied about dodgy business dealings, or indeed has dodgy business dealings, shouldn't be allowed to be a MP.

tabbycatstripy · 30/03/2022 12:41

Would Wallis claim the protected characteristic of ‘trans’ applied to him going forward from this statement?

Thoosa · 30/03/2022 12:42

The “detransitioning” once his civil (business) and criminal (car crash) legal troubles are over will be a cinch, eh?
tabbycatstripy · 30/03/2022 12:42

(Of gender reassignment)

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 30/03/2022 12:42

So to sum up - he will use he/him/his & present as a man

But he’s trans

I’ll just wait for one of our visitors to explain to us how we tell the difference between Jamie who is apparently TW & any other
man

WouldBeGood · 30/03/2022 12:43

A man. Who presents as a man and uses male pronouns, but is really a woman??

Cuck00soup · 30/03/2022 12:43

@beastlyslumber

I wonder what he means by he wants to be trans?

I suspect it means that if he ends up in trouble for his criminal activities, he wants to go to a women's prison.

I'm not holding my breath for any criminal charges to stick...
But if he were to be found guilty and faced the prospect of jail "no debate" would be over.

WouldBeGood · 30/03/2022 12:43

Ahhh!
