Judging by one of her Linkedin articles she is fully aware of the difference between men and women in business is seems. I hope she can take the feedback and adjust because there is a huge need for better sanpro products.
Fundraising as a female founder
According to Just Entrepreneurs, “in 2011, female-founded companies received just 1.2% of all European VC investment. By 2020, this total had grown to 2.2% before falling to 0.7% in 2021.” There’s no doubt the pandemic has negatively impacted funding for female entrepreneurs and FemTech, but this is already rising to come back stronger.
The majority of decision-makers in FemTech are men, and currently, only 14% of VC investment goes to women-led startups. However, there has been a significant increase in funds (often championed by women) allocated to fund women's health enterprises.
As a female founder, I refuse to be viewed as a charity investment. No one should be investing in female founders in order to fill a quota. There is a real opportunity in backing the frontrunners who are tackling the massively underserved space of female-specific problems, from healthcare to hormones and beyond - and yes, many founders in this space will be women because we face these issues every day.^
