[quote FOJN]I've just seen this little jem! Stella was attacked (I'm calling full hose) on MN for talking about having a baby (face palm) and MN have "work to do". I don't think she could enrage me more.

FML. She's full-time ridiculous

SirVixofVixHall · 03/02/2022 21:48

It is making me feel embarrassed for her. So cringey all of it.

RedToothBrush · 03/02/2022 21:57

Creasy attended Magdalene College, Cambridge where she read Social and Political Sciences before pursuing postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics.

Money clearly well spent.

FOJN · 03/02/2022 22:02

Someone needs to tell Stella she's had enough internet for the day, her Twitter is, to use an Americanism, a dumpster fire. She just keeps digging, despite tweeting outrageously offensive nonsense she somehow feels she's the victim.

DH has this saying that if characters in soaps were honest with each other, then there would be no drama.

I think we should do a variation of this an ponder what would happen if a politician offered a sincere apology and said 'fucking hell i really did misjudge this one didn't I? I was in the wrong', rather than the typical double down and non apology, sorry I was caught apology.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/02/2022 22:07

I am also wondering about why politicians agree to do MN webchats, and am suspecting it might be a form of hazing or a forfeit or part of an archaic and elaborate dare game:

'Either run round Parliament Square stark bollock naked on a Friday afternoon, or do a Mumsnet webchat'

I bet Grin

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/02/2022 22:17

If she'd had enough respect to do a little research she would have known that "be kind" is like a red rag to a bull on MN

I think that's why they said it. It felt very contrived, and almost immediately hostile.

FOJN · 03/02/2022 22:24

That's an interesting point of view. I was surprised to see two experienced parliamentarians deploy "be kind". Clearly it's not how they handle differences of opinion in the HoC, nothing would ever get done.

Do you think they wanted to cultivate a hostile atmosphere? Why?

ScribblingPixie · 03/02/2022 22:29

I see Caroline Nokes has kept her head down. Not a peep from her about it on Twitter. While Stella Creasy is having a mare.

FOJN · 03/02/2022 22:35

While Stella Creasy is having a mare.

Of her own making. The more she posts the less respect I have for her.

MiladyBerserko · 03/02/2022 23:22

God Im so sick of women being told to be kind. I am being kind, to women. Not males who want to colonise womanhood.

The baby on the lap was so cynical. Did she think MN would coo at the baby and nod in womder at her feat of combining motherhood and public office?

Mollyollydolly · 03/02/2022 23:44

Same, her latest tactic is to retweet anyone who's rude to her, tweets very much in the minority, while ignoring all the hundreds of polite questions asked in good faith. Cynical and manipulative.

Same, and I had almost none to start with.

DH has just said the same thing, so contrived .

What do we pay MPs for if it's not to take the time to fully consider important issues like this. It makes me so angry that she is being paid a handsome salary by us, refuses to sort out child care and then is so ignorant on such an important issue. It has made me reconsider my views on our whole parliamentary system. I had quite a serious conversation last night about the merits of a randomly selected parliament. People would be called up to parliament like we are now for jury service. The current system is simply not giving us the calibre of people that we need.
Totally agree on the calibre of people. The main thing stopping me getting more involved in politics is that they are all so bloody awful , imagine having to work with them. Two elected Members on here and they can’t even listen to women, then one of them goes on Twitter and makes herself look even more self obsessed and clueless. She went to Cambridge ! What did she read , Patronising ? With a post grad in Egotism ?
chilling19 · 04/02/2022 01:40

So Stella - a rite of passage for me was being allowed to go to the loo on my own. Before lockdown in 2020, my female granddaughter (13] wanted to do this - and we tagged teamed as a family in case there was a man(no matter how he identified) in the loo. Are you honestly telling us you wouldn't do the same for your wriggly baby? Or is your female child going to be immune to this threat? Once the safeguarding door is open we are all at risk.

ScreamingMeMe · 04/02/2022 06:52

This is worse than Biscuitgate, isn't it?

334bu · 04/02/2022 07:00

" Biscuitgate" ? Sounds interesting. What Mumsnet scandal was that?

Because they both knew they were going to get eaten alive once they did their Stonewall-mandated early pledge to the Holy man-women, and that by doing so the webchat would cease to be about This Mum Votes, so they had to tell everyone afterwards all about how mean women are (which, of course, the anti-women activists will love, and will team up with Stella to join in with, eg Felton) rather than their own inadequacies.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2022 08:05

Yes, that's the lines I was thinking along, Pear.

DomesticatedZombie · 04/02/2022 08:36

While I agree nobody should be rude, it's no use trying to throw a few rude tweets up like a kind of smokescreen/distraction to protect you from the terrifying polite questions.

DomesticatedZombie · 04/02/2022 08:37

Ah, was this maybe an exercise to demonstrate how terrible and nasty and vile women are? Or, women who aren't the naice kind and compliant types?

DomesticatedZombie · 04/02/2022 08:42

Hm. s women's views become more and more reported in the press and more and more people realise what's happening I daresay a huge dose of both sides-ism and 'be kind' and tone policing is about to be another layer of defence.

'No debate' is over, but we can still be criticised on the grounds of not being nice enough. This will work. Ingrained sexism is keen to condemn women who aren't playing the correctly submissive and smiling passive role.

It very easily slides into 'shrill screeching feminazi' accusations, and all the insults are sitting there ready made and delighted to be recycled.

Waitwhat23 · 04/02/2022 09:09

The whole 'both sides as bad as each other' is just such crap and is clearly the new anti woman tactic now that people are waking up to this whole thing. One side are asking questions, the other are doing stuff like this www.terfisaslur.com
