@CompleteGinasaur

It never fails to impress me, the huge range of subjects and specialties which Barley has mastered. (Mastered in its generic, not sexed sense, obviously. Perish the thought.) A week or so they had decades of experience of safeguarding at an extremely senior level, and now here they are offering expert opinion on sentencing protocols. Earlier in the thread they even offered a quote for specialist cleaning services.. Is there no end to their (soi-disant) talents...
Look I couldn't care less, although I never claimed to have senior safeguarding expertise, I was a front line worker, so don't make things up eh.

But by all means go into court with people boasting all over the internet about how she won't have to pay any fine because it's been crowdfunded and see where it gets her. It's already pretty clear the gender critical movement has decided to martyr this woman regardless of the impact on her life. I just hope those expensive lawyers you are paying for aren't so callous.

TurquoiseBaubles · 28/01/2022 21:47

Barley, can I ask you a question please?

Are you one person, or are there a series of you tag-teaming? Because if you are one person, are you ok? Would you like some hobby suggestions, or do you need a job?

I'm really hoping you are job-sharing posting on here, because if you aren't I'm really very worried about you Sad

Jack of all trades. Master of none.

Ssshh, MrBlobby, we can't say "master". Or "jack", obviously. Might be misgendering. (I don't know why we always seem to use masculine terms for Barley, really I don't..)

It's almost as though they think our tiny ladybrains are too small to think of Google. Technology is too complicated for us, I suppose..

More information from The Glinner Update

Am I reading DID as a rape defence now? Just when you think some people can't stoop an lower....

Oh, barley 🤣

TurquoiseBaubles · 28/01/2022 21:51

As an aside, the fundraiser went up by almost £3000 while I was catching up on the thread Grin

ItsCoachBombay · 28/01/2022 21:55

Honestly even if she is found guilty, a fine and a slap on the wrist from magistrates is hardly the end of the world. And I hope she knows this. I'm sure the anger and outrage to even being charged would outweigh any ramifications on her life of such a minute offence.

The conviction will become spent eventually, and unless she's planning on having a DBS in the next 9 years it's the only time it will show. And even then some employers or volunteering organisations will not care about a non violent offence such as "criminal damage" it's not a "safeguarding issue"

Hence the thousands of people in employment with drink driving offences, driving whilst disqualified, criminal damage, public order offences such as "intoxicated in a public place" and other minor offences.

MrBlobbyLivesNextDoor · 28/01/2022 21:57

Look I couldn't care less, although I never claimed to have senior safeguarding expertise, I was a front line worker, so don't make things up eh.

Not a front line worker with any knowledge of safeguarding at all.

So, erm, what sort of front line worker are you?

FOJN · 28/01/2022 21:57

although I never claimed to have senior safeguarding expertise, I was a front line worker

It's fairly evident you are not a safeguarding expert to the extent that it's quite worrying your "front line" work may have required you to have some knowledge of it.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 28/01/2022 22:00

I have no idea. But it is not a defence against a crime to say well someone else did it too. That wouldn't even wash in most playgrounds.

Talking of playgrounds, do you know the quickest way to get an otherwise nice kid loathed and resented by their peers? Making it obvious that they are teacher's pet and that they will never get in trouble for breaking the rules.

The denizens of the average playground don't like it when they see it's one rule for us and one rule for them.

I'm surprised you're not more concerned about the repercussions here. When one group's stickers are a hate crime, and the other group's aren't, it seems liable to cause ill-feeling.

NitroNine · 28/01/2022 22:02

I would be very cautious about discussing or even offering money to pay fines. If it goes to court and the magistrate gets wind of it then they are quite likely to impose a heavier, and non financial sentence.

Always hearing about rich people getting banged up because it’s too easy for them to pay their fines. One of the great scandals of our age. Ditto people getting banged up because some random says online they might give the individual facing charges an unspecified sum of money. Dealing with people more harshly on that basis would of course be super-sensible & realistic because i. we control what others say to & about us; & ii. nobody ever has lied/would lie online & they DEFINITELY wouldn’t massively abuse something like that. Particularly not people who participate in, for example, brigading of Reddit subs or “helping” Watford’s local paper get more votes in its poll about the girls’ indie school’s single sex policy than live in Watford. No. Perish the very thought.

Artichokeleaves · 28/01/2022 22:03

Particularly when the favoured child is foolish enough to rub in everyone else's faces that they can do this and others can't.

barleybadminton · 28/01/2022 22:03

It's interesting to me how the trans supportive posters here generally stick to discussion of the facts and rarely post personal attacks. Only to be met with post after post of personal attacks. Almost as if one side is happy to debate, but the other side prefers bullying.

CompleteGinasaur · 28/01/2022 22:03

@Sophoclesthefox

Oh, barley 🤣

Exactly. I'll be happy to provide some evidence, of course. But considering the huge volume of unsubstantiated rubbish statements I've seen Barley make on here, I think it's only fair they go first.

Not personal attacks, from where I'm sitting. Simply requests for information, surely?

(And as for allegations of bullying - well, I don't know how you keep a straight face sometimes).

MrBlobbyLivesNextDoor · 28/01/2022 22:08

Almost as if one side is happy to debate, but the other side prefers bullying.

That's very hurtful. I feel sad, unsafe and offended. 😢

Artichokeleaves · 28/01/2022 22:09

Disagreeing with you and pointing out increasingly inconsistent approaches and arguments is really not bullying. Facts are not hate. Other humans are not props. Saying no is not violence. Feelings do not create reality.

You spelled 'generally' wrong Wink
CompleteGinasaur · 28/01/2022 22:17

Is that generally spelled n-e-v-e-r, titchy ?

FOJN · 28/01/2022 22:18

Hello DARVO my old friend.

TurquoiseBaubles · 28/01/2022 22:18

If that was aimed at me barley, it genuinely wasn't intended as an attack.

I've seen posters on here get really dragged in to the detriment of the rest of their lives. It happened to me a few years ago as well, on another topic and it's really not healthy

CompleteGinasaur · 28/01/2022 22:19

Grin Grin Grin

TurquoiseBaubles · 28/01/2022 22:20

I mean, there are a lot of posters on FWR in particular who care deeply about women, but I can't think of one who posts so continuously for days at a time on any topic.

@barleybadminton having recently fallen down this rabbit hole and looking at Twitter I don't see threats of rape, gun violence, stalking women, and threats of physical violence from one side of the argument but there seems to be plenty on one side.

I'm sure you know which side seems to be far more abusive and threatening, and it isn't women, who do not possess a penis to rape people with or threaten to do so.

I'll be honest, I was shocked, it definitely didn't feel like an "inclusive and safe" environment. 🤷🏻‍♀️

CompleteGinasaur · 28/01/2022 22:20

Sorry, that was for FOJN, I've never heard that one before. Mint.
