Making a malicious report is still illegal, isn't it?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 25/01/2022 22:54

Oh, that person.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 25/01/2022 22:56

As an officially working class person, I'm not mad keen on people who feel entitled to treat retail staff like shite.

Rightsraptor · 25/01/2022 22:57

The police statement talks of taking posters and stickers from her home. And who sprays stickers on? Not that I've ever stickered anywhere Wink but I imagine you just peel the backing off and stick the sticker in situ.

BeyondShrinks · 25/01/2022 22:57

"She can think about how to gender people properly"...

...

Fairly certain the person working in the ice cream shop will be thinking less 'oh no! I'm a terrible person for accidently using the wrong pronoun!' and more 'well, that person's an arsehole'.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 25/01/2022 23:04

Funny how that one was so sure that a member of staff was a she and a waitress. I guess our customer from hell knew the staff member was a woman the same way they knew she was the kind of person they were allowed to treat like shit.

Funny how the AFAB she/hers always have to defer to and clean up after the AMAB she/hers.

What was the title of the book removed from Jennifer’s home? Or am I confused?

This coupled with the thread about the woman who was strip searched makes me think that more research needs to be done on state sanctioned violence against women. But of course if we become people with uteruses or no one dares speak our name that’s one step towards dehumanisation and invisibilisation - a bit like killing the meat rather than slaughtering the cow. No one will notice the violence against us.

I think it was "Transgender Children and Young Peoole" by Heather Brunskell Evans.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 25/01/2022 23:51

Based on the description, I think it's
Transgender Children and Young People: Born in Your Own Body, edited by Heather Brunskell-Evans

www.waterstones.com/book/transgender-children-and-young-people/heather-brunskell-evans/michele-moore/9781527509306

quote

This book is a collection of essays about the current theory and practice of transgendering children. Essays are written against the grain of the popularised medical definition of 'the transgender child' as a young person whose 'true' gender lies in the brain, or pre-social 'identity'. Contributors contest this diagnosis from a range of perspectives, including as social theorists, psychotherapists, persons living as transgender, individuals who have de-transitioned, and parents of adolescents identifying as transgender. They argue that medicine, social policy and the law build ideas about 'the transgender child', and contend that it is politics, not science, which accounts for the exponential rise in the number of children diagnosed as transgender by gender identity clinics. They conclude that today's medical and social trend for transgendering children is not liberal and progressive, but politically reactionary, physically and psychologically dangerous and abusive.

On the ice cream incident, I'm imaging passing something to a man, referring to him as a man, to be told he's a woman and I should know that.

How exactly do women read a man's mind to know that he thinks he feels like a woman, when he is male? I'm a woman, I don't even know how other women feel.

On the subject of mind reading... What if my cat identifies as male should I know this and change her name and pronouns?
Conception made her female, but how do I know her genderID now? Confused

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 26/01/2022 00:06

Well, well, well.

Here we have a man from Gwent, on twitter, who finds the posters he has seen around offensive to men. He is very clear about that.

I've never got past my feeling that a male has no way of knowing whether he "feels like a woman" because all his experiences are as a male, he has no way of knowing what "feeling like a woman" would feel like. All he can know is that he doesn't feel like he thinks feeling like a man should feel. That doesn't make him a woman in any sense though.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 26/01/2022 00:15

Here's that man.

Enough4me · 26/01/2022 00:19

How's that attacking all men as not all men are rapists/abusers to be sent to prison, men have male prisons so have a place to be sent if they do commit a crime plus when has it been discriminatory against all men to tell them a women's prison isn't designed for them?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 26/01/2022 00:24

As we said earlier in the thread, before being accused of faux naivety, we really are in a society where women are being punished for thinking men shouldn't kill us!

It is offensive if women don't meekly accept a murder rate of 3+ women a week.

Enough4me · 26/01/2022 00:31

We have to remember the 3 murdered women a week may have asked for it though...he was stressed, she served him the wrong food, it was a sex game she asked him to do to her. It was out-of-character and his boss says he's a hard worker and his mum says it wasn't his fault, he just needed space and was nagged too much. His dad blames social media and porn because his son isn't a bad person. His mates say banter turned into an argument, it was just misunderstanding.

So it's not all men, and men who kill women don't need to be counted, because it's just misunderstanding.

The "spraying stickers" in their statement is really bothering me. How the hell do you "spray" sharp objects to a fucking lamppost?

And the rest of the statement...

While she was in custody, a mobile phone and stickers were seized as part of our enquiries.

Following arrest, officers attended the women’s address and conducted a search after arrest. Further items, including stickers and posters, were also seized.

Can they actually hear themselves? 'We searched her home and SEIZED stickers and posters'.

Pat on the back for you. So brave.

I'd be fucking mortified if I had to announce to the public that I'd raided a woman's home for some stickers, it's pathetic.

NitroNine · 26/01/2022 01:07

The stickers sounds even worse when you find out she’s a retired teacher. It makes it sound as if they’ve carried off rolls & rolls of “good work” “excellent work” “well done” “you’re a star” (etc) stickers.

That said, given the absolute mockery they’ve made of any pretence at doing their actual job, perhaps they did “seize” any still in Jennifer’s home & awarded them to the key players in this farce due to their unaccountably not having been instantly showered with medals for their bravery & brilliance.

Barbarantia · 26/01/2022 03:01

Important question : did they find any razor blades or glass in their search or did she have it in for that particular lamppost or whatever suffered her stickering? They might need to check the playdoh too if they need ideas! They might find ribbon coloured ones or flag shaped cutters!

Yes it's a common lie from TRAs, which has never, ever been proven to have happened. One TRA used a photograph of Frank Ocean's finger - it became a bit of a meme.

That Neko person seems really unwell, and potentially dangerous. If they have been pulling the police's strings in this case, that is really embarrassing to say the least.
