Judgement will be here on Monday, finally. It's been about 9 months since the appeal.

This was a good article by Sarah Phillimore if anyone needs a recap.

Oh excellent. Fingers crossed!

To add, if Harry loses, then Sarah Phillimore and 'Miss B' will proceed with their own similar case, but this time focusing on Article 8.

From Sarah's article:

I have a very personal interest in this as I have my own application for judicial review against the same guidance, as I am recorded as “a barrister posting hate” by Wiltshire Police – which doesn’t strike me as very “neutral”. My case will be based primarily on breach of Article 8 and data protection laws, issues which were frustratingly touched upon before the Court of Appeal but not canvassed in any depth.

Ooh! Fingers crossed here too.

Manderleyagain · 16/12/2021 13:09

Any clue as to what time? Is it being sent out by email or is the court sitting to hear it?

What happens when a judgement takes so long to be handed down that higher courts have handed down relevant judgements in the interval? Does the judgement have to be altered to take account of them?

Time will be 10:30am. Looks like it's in court, too.

I am always suspicious of important judgements being handed down just before e.g. Christmas

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/12/2021 19:57

I wonder whether the top secret "trans training" that the judiciary received will have any impact on the outcome?

Signalbox · 16/12/2021 20:08

Oh brilliant. It's been such a long wait!

Signalbox · 16/12/2021 20:10

So does this mean Harry has already decided he won't appeal if he loses?

Manderleyagain · 17/12/2021 11:37

Thanks OP. Nothing in the faircop twitter as yet. Suppose that means they're in court listening.

Manderleyagain · 17/12/2021 12:25

Oh sorry its on Monday not Friday. Will hold my horses!

yourhairiswinterfire · 20/12/2021 10:49

Harry won!

Court has ruled that the recording of non-crime hate incidents is an unlawful interference in freedom of expression.

Very good news. Shame it's been rather co-opted by Laurence Fox, but a great and deserved win nonetheless.

Will we get to find out who Ms B is now?

Manderleyagain · 20/12/2021 10:51

Really good news. The recording of non crime hate incidents against people's names id unlawful. Because it interferes with article 10 rights and will have a chilling effect on public debate.

Well done FairCop and Harry Miller.

Datun · 20/12/2021 10:53

Good. Well done Harry.

Yes I was thinking the same. Is faircop still a separate entity from the reclaim party?

Anyway, I look forward to reading the judgement.

Mumsnut · 20/12/2021 10:55

Well Do e and THANK YOU to Harry and Co

Hoardasurass · 20/12/2021 10:57

🥳
I bet the TRAs will be kicking off over this as they have now lost 1 of their biggest weapons Grin

OvaHere · 20/12/2021 10:58

Great news. None of this idiocy should ever have got this far.

eurochick · 20/12/2021 10:58

That's great news!

littlbrowndog · 20/12/2021 10:59

Well done Harry 🙌🏽🙌🏽🎉🎉🎉

VestofAbsurdity · 20/12/2021 10:59

Yes, yes yes!

Brilliant news.

PronounssheRa · 20/12/2021 11:00

Great news, will this apply retrospectively and will the police now have to update all records where non crime hate incidents have been recorded
