I feel so upset about this, and my DD isn't even in Guides, she does Scouts for various reasons.

I just cannot believe this, can this really happen?

As a PP said, I really feel like the end game in this is to destroy Girl Guides altogether. I mean, an organisation for girls that doesn't allow creepy men and their pervy fetishes? Can't have that can we?

TheBeardedVulture · 23/11/2021 23:10

I wish I was surprised.

However Girl Guides got advised on their trans inclusive policies by extreme porn advocate and professional Skeksis lookalike Jane Fae so what else would we expect?

TheBeardedVulture · 23/11/2021 23:13

Also why are male non binary people excluded from these roles? Seems awfully discriminatory…

averylongtimeago · 23/11/2021 23:18

@Manderleyagain

How is this going down in the Facebook groups for guides leaders? Has it been noticed?
If you try to broach the subject- posts are removed (some groups pre-approve all posts). If you push it by making comments on other threads then your comments are removed and you are banned.

The same admins are on several groups and I understand this ban on the subject comes from gghq

LittleWingSoul · 23/11/2021 23:19

@RedDogsBeg The end goal of the TRA/Genderist agenda is the complete removal of anything and everything that women and girls have for themselves - spaces, services, language, clubs, associations - you name it they want it, women and girls must have NOTHING exclusively for themselves

This made me well up.

Every now and then this battle makes me feel so low I have to take a break from it - that's happening again after reading this thread. And I am not even a vocal activist, too scared to be.

It becomes much easier to cope with when you start getting mouthy about it imho.

Learn not to apologise for caring about women and children’s rights before anyone else’s.

LittleWingSoul · 23/11/2021 23:39

@RedCarpetRebellion as a fellow Distillers fan you think I'd know that too, right?!

I've found it's people I care about most - my siblings for example - I can't discuss this with. I've put my name on petitions and quietly broach the subject when it comes up, but I am not on SM (other than here!) and work in a university. So I feel limited. Which further reinforces my fear! 2 of my 3 children are on the spectrum and I am hoping this has all gone away by the time they are old enough to be swayed by any of this madness.

PriamFarrl · 23/11/2021 23:43

I hate the Mail and I hate that I agree with it.

Both of my girls are also.

But I only care dh understands and he does. Snarky loner that I am I don’t care about trying to persuade friends. Which has resulted in them all agreeing with me Grin

I think when we stop apologising for what we think and stop putting disclaimer about caring about transwomen also, we become much more persuasive. Not giving a fuck seems to make others start giving a fuck.

I am spending more and more time with stomping boots on and Brody blaring in my ears while I walk dogs though Smile

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/11/2021 23:59

It's in the Mail
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10235539/Girlguides-launch-probe-trans-Commissioner-58-saucy-dominatrix-style-picture.html

Challenors get a mention
As does Helen Watts

I've definitely been here too more and more, recently Smile My Do I Give A Fuck feminist teen self would be proud of this much, at least!

I have a bikini kill t shirt with girls to the front on it.

Frequently this on and Distillers playing.

My girls keep asking about both so I get to be ranty about women’s rights, but they listen because they were the ones who asked Wink

MrsFionaCharming · 24/11/2021 00:17

ARRRRGHHHHH

Sorry, but that’s just how angry this whole thing makes me.

I’m a Guide Leader. I’ve been in Guiding for 25 years, and it’s been such an amazing influence and shaped me as a person.

Safeguarding comes before anything else in my eyes, and I hate the idea that parents would withdraw their girls from my unit because of stupid decisions being made by HQ (that I’m ignoring anyway).

Not to mention that each one of these stories that comes out, we’re going to lose more and more members until the entire organisation crumbles. And then future generations of girls will be denied all the opportunities I’ve had.

LittleWingSoul · 24/11/2021 00:23

@MrsFionaCharming

I'd be so gutted if I were directly involved with gg now, like yourself.

Pp have been saying vote with your feet, but gg is clearly so important to so many girls and women, this isn't necessarily a very helpful call to action.

MrsFionaCharming · 24/11/2021 00:24

Also, I hate to break it to those with daughters in Scouting, but the DM article about this person also showed photos of them in a Scout Leader uniform.

Smokeahontas · 24/11/2021 00:29

Why am I unsurprised to hear a connection to Aimee Challenor?

Scraggythang · 24/11/2021 05:30

I hate the Mail, but a lot of people read it. Anyone shining a light on this is a good thing. Just relieved it’s been picked up and we’re not up against a wall of totally indifferent silence.

I'm so glad I came across this thread this morning. DD was asking about joining the GG as she saw a group at the hall she goes to ballet in.
I can't believe what I've just read. No way would I now even entertain the suggestion of joining.
I'm actually speechless

Bogeyes · 24/11/2021 06:19

Speechless

WholeClassKeptIn · 24/11/2021 06:21

MrsFiona I fear that destruction of gg is what they want. I loved the guiding movement as a space for girls and women to grow and develop. But I've taken my girls out too. It literally isn't a girl space anymore.

FindTheTruth · 24/11/2021 06:27

Helen Watts on the shocking lapses in safeguarding within Girlguiding since they adopted the concept of 'gender identity'.

Girlguiding has been around since 1910 and always a single-sex organisation.Girlguiding has always been quite steadfast and said that no we are a single sex organisation we think that being in an all-female environment brings particular benefits to girls um and also having a female leadership as well gives the girls the chance to see sort of women in charge having female role models around. periodically there'll be something in the press like a boy who's said that he wants to join guides and yeah it's so unfair that he's not allowed and girlguiding have always said no we're not doing that we are going to stay single sex and they're entitled to. they use the single sex assumptions in the equality act to lawfully stay a single sex organisation.

this was changed without any discussion with girl guide leaders or or anyone involved in the girl guides
this was just someone sent a round robin email saying that we're doing this now we're admitting we're admitting boys and men if they identify as women

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 24/11/2021 06:38

Girl guides is a women’s organisation.

WholeClassKeptIn · 24/11/2021 06:48

Well that's the whole point isnt it? If you literally truly believe transwomen are women then this is the result.

Charley50 · 24/11/2021 06:53

I don't think people should withdraw their daughters from GG. But don't let up about this. It's out in the open now, GG need to address their infiltration by this ideology. It's currently non-inclusive and not fit for purpose.
