In my last employment that would have been instant dismissal, bringind employer into disrepute and being a menace to vulnerable young adults, aka students. Instant, out of the building with contents of desk drawers in a cardboard box.

And I worked in social care for over a decade and a half thanks, including working with vulnerable adults and young people with high support needs. Safeguarding was a pretty important part of that.

No way! Nope. Your constant defence, minimising of some actions that seriously ring safeguarding alarm bells suggests this absolutely cannot be true.

Could you confirm @barleybadminton that you have NOT seen any other pictures than those in the mainstream articles? Because if you have NOT then you need to shut up and go search out the others. Then you will see what it is we are talking about.

Good luck with that. I have searched after being told I could not have seen the in the bath shot and there is only a small selection now available from screenshots. It is probably to feminists credit that people have not republished them all.

So, unless you saw the social media account when they were open to the public, they are long gone.

And you've not had safeguarding training?

I have had safeguarding training as it happens. The key question in this case is whether they "behaved or may have behaved in a way that indicates they may not be suitable to work with children."

The example given in government guidance on this is someone being involved in an incident of domestic violence. The key point here is does the incident represent a 'transferable risk' that is is there a liklihood of this activity taking place in a setting with children. In this case that seems unlikely, it was a fairly benign post on an instagram account under a false name. She doesnt seem very likely to be about to turn up at a Girl Guide meeting brandishing a crop and wearing a corset. I verymuch dout any tribunal or safeguarding expert would consider that photo meets the threshold.

There is also provision to report a 'low level concern'. This is much more likely in this case and would not usually lead to loss of job, although it would be recorded and depending on the incident may invoke disciplinary action. There is certainly nothing in typical safeguarding policies or practice that would suggest this person should be fired and prevented from working with children again. Mostly likely, if the Girl Guides felt this met the threshold of a low level concern it would be recorded confidentially and dealt with by additional training, increased supervision or low level sanction.

There was between 5-10 photos with guns posed in the lounge room and I believe a sword.

Further, you forgot the picture with the gun in around 10/12 previous posts trying to minimise what was there.
Also the in bath shot I saw before the whole lot was locked.

Reading about Billie Eilish, her story has connections to this thread and the push to normalise ‘kink’ and ‘fetish’ by some posters.

Do those posters also agree then with the normalisation of porn for children? Because it seems that ‘everyone is doing it’?

Do those posters agree with Peter Tatchell that porn is a good educational source for sex for children. Remember that he has publicly said some of his friends were sexually abused as children and we’re not harmed by it and those boys felt it was ok to have been preyed on at 9 odd years old. And on the news this weekend told of a 15 year old girl telling him sex was good as it showed her how to make her boyfriend happy and her too! (Yes, as it showed Billie what she should find pleasure in too that was harmful to her).

Lowering of children’s sexual boundaries is happening everywhere. 11 year old girls are watching porn, and Riverdale is depicting 15 yr old dominatrixes and their GG leaders are posting sexual content, if you cannot see the connection, cannot see how where this leads then that is on you. If you persist in framing your progression of such a highly sexualised society onto our children, at least acknowledge where it is stemming from.

Those 14 year old girls and boys from France who were preyed upon by adults in the 1970s are only now speaking out. We all acknowledge it is not right for underage marriage. We have been here before. It seems some of us learned, and others did not.

It seems ultimately the question needs to be asked, exactly who benefits? And I mean, specifically?

Just a quick reminder of some of the photos we are talking about. Nice shot of Monica in the bath, superimposed on a picture of them with little girls(whoever faces were not obscured), plus one about "boobs". These were on the public profile, easily visible to anyone doing a quick Facebook search, alongside pictures of Monica in guide uniform at guiding events.
