The police are involved and all three have locked their accounts.

I hope their agents will take note.

@MargaritaPie

There are videos on Youtube of fans who have uploaded videos of JK Rowling's mansion. Or at least one of her mansions.

Doxxing JK Rowling is almost like doxxing the Queen.

Can you just imagine if someone took a photo of themselves outside Buckingham Palace?

"One of her mansions"

What point are you trying to make? That JKR is very wealthy and owns more than one house? And how is that relevant to anything?

ArabellaScott · 23/11/2021 10:56

Well, I'm confused by the 'cissy' sign, now.

'Don't be a cissy' - what, being 'cis' is a bad thing? They are encouraging people to not be 'cis'? Why? Is that not a version of conversion therapy? Or is it okay to convert cis people?

Or - don't be a 'sissy' in it's older sense, an emasculated man? Are they protesting against 'sissy' porn?

Are these people aware of the 'sissy porn' culture? What are they on about? I would really like to ask them.

KimikosNightmare · 23/11/2021 10:58

MPie, I'm probably one of the posters who is the least sympathetic to the gender critical cause, yet virtually every post by you makes me think, hmm , they do have a point.

Are you actually a (not terribly well concealed) 5th columnist ?

Redshoeblueshoe · 23/11/2021 11:00

For any one who wasn't on Twitter on Friday night I would just like to point out that the Edinburgh 3 didn't get threats, but post after post telling them to take the picture down. I'm sure thousands of people reported them, but Twitter did nothing. Someone from Twitter should be explaining why doxxing JK Rowling, sending her death threats is acceptable. Only a few MPs have spoken up.

Well, I did try explaining it, but someone reported and MNHQ deleted it.

John Boyne has well and truly reached the top, hasn't he?

"The best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing & threatening us."

Common sense by the great & compassionate

.

Those who harass others online - & God knows, I've had my share of stalkers & trolls - should read this thread.

This is an absolutely shameful state of affairs. Who the hell do these people think they are?!? #IStandWithJKR

ArabellaScott · 23/11/2021 11:03

I see that, Floral. Hmm

Franca123 · 23/11/2021 11:06

Floral. Can you try and explain again or signpost me somewhere where I can find out?! It's really bothering me. What ARE they trying to get at?!

merrymouse · 23/11/2021 11:06

Emma Barnett has turned out to be excellent. I wonder if she was always secretly terfy or peaked recently?

I think she is just asking questions. I don’t think she has been easier on e.g. Kathleen Stock or Raquel Rosario Sánchez.

HoardingFloralBuntingInACervix · 23/11/2021 11:11

I've asked MNHQ why they deleted it. I pointed out that 'cis' is claimed to be a neutral opposite of 'trans' but is consistently used in a pejorative, deprecating or submissive way like this, so it's clearly not a neutral term.

I make the case that it's religious language in a belief system I term 'Genderism'.

So they have combined the scornful term 'sissy' with the dismissive term 'cis' and demonstrated the hierachy in Genderism.

This may get deleted too. Who fucking knows with the arbitrary nature of the 'guidelines'.

Franca123 · 23/11/2021 11:13

Thank you. I suspect that that is probably what they were going for. 'Cis' is certainly a derogatory term in my opinion. Bonkers!

LangificusClegasaurous · 23/11/2021 11:16

I saw that, too, and suspect that may be one reason they decided to stop (pause?) their accounts, as well as to make themselves look more martyrish.
I do think this will pay off for them in the long run in woke cookies and name recognition amongst their kindred spirits.

On the "cissy" thing, I had a feeling I'd seen it recently as an insult to some non trans person, I ran a little twitter search, and found these in fairly short order...

The one about mocking people by using "cissy" transmisognystic is puzzling but I guess it makes sense to someone out there...

Thanks again. Totally off the wall. This must surely be the zenith of the insanity?

ArabellaScott · 23/11/2021 11:19

From Wiki:

'"Sissy" (derived from sister), also sissy baby, sissy boy, sissy man, sissy pants, etc., is a pejorative term for a boy or man who is not traditionally masculine, and shows possible signs of fragility. Generally, sissy implies a lack of courage, strength, athleticism, coordination, testosterone, male libido, and stoic calm, all of which have traditionally been associated with masculinity and considered important to the male role in Western society. A man might also be considered a sissy for being interested in traditionally feminine hobbies or employment (e.g., being fond of fashion), displaying effeminate behavior (e.g., using hair products, hydrating products, or displaying limp wrists), being unathletic, or being homosexual.[1]

"Sissy" is, approximately, the male converse of tomboy (a girl with masculine traits or interests), but carries more strongly negative connotations. Research published in 2015 suggests that the terms are asymmetrical in their power to stigmatize: sissy is almost always pejorative and conveys greater severity, while tomboy rarely causes as much concern but also elicits pressure to conform to social expectations.[2] '

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/11/2021 11:20

The first three letters of the word "cissy" on the sign were a different colour to the final two, iirc.

Clearly to make some point or other.

LangificusClegasaurous · 23/11/2021 11:21

uh, I meant being transmisogynistic, I puzzled myself that time

ArabellaScott · 23/11/2021 11:21

Er, I do encourage caution if googling 'sissy', though. There are quite a lot of websites on it that are NSFW.

CruellaDeVilla · 23/11/2021 11:24

It’s a completely made up word and if we accept it we accept that the word “woman” isn’t enough to describe an adult human female
ScrambledSmegs · 23/11/2021 11:29

Re: 'cissy'. Urban dictionary doesn't disappoint with its usual offensive and inconsistent definitions.

'A derogatory term for non-trans people.'

I see.

Dear KimikosNightmare. I think you used to be able to get Tshirts that said "Radicalised By Mumsnet". Perhaps you could get one that says "Peaked By Pie"?....
LangificusClegasaurous · 23/11/2021 11:43

Wow, that urbandictionary page is quite an eyeful... (worth scrolling all the way down.) So I guess self identified "cis" people can use it for those of us who reject the label.

Rightsraptor · 23/11/2021 11:48

And I am wearing my 'Radicalised by Mumsnet' T shirt as we speak Grin

Rightsraptor · 23/11/2021 11:50

Though 'Peaked by Pie' conjures images of a lemon meringue pie with clouds of fluffiness atop. Hmmmm ...
