The police are involved and all three have locked their accounts.

I hope their agents will take note.

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

Right, I'll start a separate thread with the details.

If nothing else, we get to write down en masse about why we think she is worth defending and championing.

Excellent stuff 👍
Mollyollydolly · 22/11/2021 18:26

Oh yes, start a thread. It sends a message if nothing else. Anyway to support her.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/11/2021 18:26

Good stuff. Please post a link @vivariumvivariumsvivaria

GO, VIPERS, GO!

Man, I fucking love this place. Justine's next, right?

Nanny0gg · 22/11/2021 18:36

@littlbrowndog

I saw that spindle. You were just trying to help let people know where to send cards and stuff

It’s a P.O. Box. She doesn’t live there

TBF you could probably just put JK Rowling, Edinburgh and it would get there
FemaleAndLearning · 22/11/2021 18:38

Can she sit next Professor Winston in the House of Lords, that would be great!

It seems from that Crewe article that Holly likes turning up outside places with a placard, like old school, MPs office which are public places. But this is pure spite.

ChinstrapBobblehat · 22/11/2021 18:55

It’ll be interesting to see whether these three specimens get taken down for perpetrating genuine hate crimes half as fucking quick as anyone tweeting the dictionary definition of ‘woman’.

JKR, if you’re reading this, and I hope you are, thank you 🙏. We stand with you, and our daughters and granddaughters will owe a debt of gratitude to you and the brave few with a public platform who choose to use it to speak up for the silenced majority.

FranceTeam · 22/11/2021 18:55

I’m not surprised one of the “actors” is a drag queen. The rise of drag queens in our culture, pushed by the BBC, has led to a large increase in misogyny and a push against sex based rights.

Mumsnut · 22/11/2021 19:01

"A drag queen from South Cheshire returned to her home town where she was once given death threats.

Now based in Soho, former Crewe student Holly Stars revisited her home, where she says a group of boys once shouted at her 'We’ll kill you'. "

(My emphasis)

And apparently, it affected her so badly, she needed to go back 20 years later to 'reclaim the narrative'.

No insight or empathy then.

Bearsinmotion · 22/11/2021 19:07

Nothing to add to this thread except that I have just ordered the Christmas Pig!

CaptSkippy · 22/11/2021 19:16

I saw on Twitter they are calling her: The Woman Who Could Not Be Canceled.

She is so much like the character Harry Potter from her books (not the movies).

DaisyNGO · 22/11/2021 19:18

Oh I thought only one was a drag queen.

Ordering book for DC. I look forward to reading it 😂

ChattyLion · 22/11/2021 19:18

What an absolutely disgusting thing for those three people to do. What an excellent tweet from JK Rowling. Sending her all the best. She is great and I am so grateful she has everyone’s back on this and that she isn’t backing off. Despite these and many other arseholes attempting to intimidate her.

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/11/2021 19:24

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

Absolutely @vivariumvivariumsvivaria. Justine would make a great Baroness alongside JKR. She's continued to let women to speak about these issues on Mumsnet in the face of the worst the TRAs and MRAs fling at her and the site.
doublemonkey · 22/11/2021 19:32

Adding my voice of thanks to JKR. She is super amazing.

Also, I'm sure she's on Mumsnet so..

Thanks JK! 💋

HandsOffMyRights · 22/11/2021 19:32

Harassing women is never a good look.

Reframing it to paint yourself as the victim is textbook male pattern violence towards women.

This sinister and bullish behaviour shows a massive amount of sex based privilege.

Can you imagine if it were the other way round?
But it's never the other way around.

I stand with the legend, the woman that is JKR and I'm sorry that she's still dealing with all the TRA rage and intimidation just for asserting our rights as women.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/11/2021 19:32

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

DP is a well known actor in Scotland, very talented. Also a gay man who has selflessly taken on the role of making sure that every woman in Scotland understands the importance of Right Think and Be Kind and Shut Up.

He manages this despite his crippling fear of ribbons. A true hero.

#hatefulHaberdashery is worth a read.

Indeed!

A True Hero of the TRA cause.

They'll probably name a pasty after him After The Revolution.

Or a Bus Stop.

Thefartingsofaofdenmarkstreet · 22/11/2021 19:42

@QueenSue

I'm also confused by the "don't be a cissy" sign. What did they think would happen? Did they think Rowling would see them and instead of calling the police, would think yes I need to change my feminist views and stop being a cissy, whatever that means?
It wasn't meant to change her views, it was meant to intimidate her into shutting up completely about this issue. It's essentially what terrorists do - force someone to come round to your way of thinking by scaring them into it.

This was straight up stalking and harassment wasn't it? I mean even the Prick News twisting it into 'Trans Day of Remembrance protest'.....but outside her house? Why? Why would they go to her house, where she and her family live?

Given what the police in Scotland have arrested women for in recent times, I would expect arrest and charge for this sort of stalking to be sharp and swift.

girafferafferaffe · 22/11/2021 19:43

I wonder what Daniel Radcliffe etc think about this...

DaisyNGO · 22/11/2021 19:47

@girafferafferaffe

I still can't believe none of them have spoken up for her - or have they and I missed it?
Lakelandterrier · 22/11/2021 19:48

I am going to send a card too

DdraigGoch · 22/11/2021 19:52

@Gardeningcreature

Can anyone say who these 3 actors are. They have done what they have done so surely naming them is fine.
Well I've seen their names but I'm still none the wiser as to who they are.
BlueMongoose · 22/11/2021 19:55

As someone who used to work in the theatre, I would not have wanted to work with an actor who did anything so stupid or nasty as to reveal someone's home address. Actors don't put their own addresses into programmes, and theatre staff are not allowed to reveal actor's home addresses to fans- and for good reason. It is no different for authors.

Peach01 · 22/11/2021 19:55

Their behaviour is disgraceful and disgusting. Attacking a woman is how they want to get their point across? They can't see past their own nose.

The "don't be a cissy" statement. Am I way off or is that a direct insult?

DaisyNGO · 22/11/2021 19:58

Are they meant to be in productions at the mo? I wonder if they will continue?
