Starting the new thread

@FissionMailed inevitably, but that's fine. That's partly what the process is for - to declare and uphold proper standards, both to Harrop and to the rest of the profession.

I think the vice article has the potential to put him in a difficult position with regard to this newly developed insight, mind.

All of this declared insight and remorse is viewed through the lens of his advice to a Dr in a similar position though, isn't it. As I said before, it's a hard corner to be in.

RD: just want to look briefly at the issue of 'insight'. You've said your insight was partial in 2018/2019
AH: yes
RD: when do you think your insight has begun to develop
AH: to a significant degree in the last 6 months

AH: My org is fantastic org and had some xonvis with senior members an dlooked at why I conducted myself in a certain way. Looked at triggers in situs and why that was a maladaptive way of viewing the situation. Only ever wanted to do the right thing

AH: it was maladaptive and it was wrong and I was point scoring and gaming idea. It felt joyous scoring these points.the likes, the retweets, I was given awards for it. It made me feel a rush of adrenalin and dopamine. I thought I was doing the right thing. I realise now

Having done that work ...(getting upset) sorry...I've learnt since then and I understand it all in such a different way and that's only started to hit home in last 6 months.

I'm struggling to see how a medical professional admitting to getting a dopamine hit from bullying people online is going to help him in a fitness to practice tribunal.

What next? "I knew she was a terf so I got a dopamine hit from giving her a painful smear"

AH: wouldn't say contempt but I'd say arrogance

AH: I deleted my twitter a few days later. Can't think of better word but not contempt. I think it's important to conceptualise this tweet. This is a response made to a much more junior colleague who'd spoken in jovial and light hearted terms about his own problems.

AH: certainly from an optics point of view and it demonstrates my incomplete insight at the time.
RD: you say junior how many more years junior?
AH: I don't know this person but they say they're a first year.

I wonder what caused things to become crystal cleat six months ago. Meeting with his legal team for the first time?

He's in trouble now, they've brought up a tweet proving he's now faking any emotion he's showing.

When I was writing these tweets I was a fully qualified GP in my first year. I'd say he was 6 years my junior.
RD: want to deal with one final matter in to insight.

RD: in your first statement. Page 4 para 12, refs modules completed online in relation to various matters. You produced certificates and haven't reflected any learning or certificates in regards to those.

AH: no not as such, not a specific reflective statement but of course these course have had an influence

RD: would you say your insight has only been developed partially?
AH: I wouldn't say that. (Too fast) I suffer from low self esteem and body image

Exactly my thoughts. He’s saying all the right things, giving the impression of being contrite. The Vice article makes him saying, I’ve been on a personal journey and learned that I was wrong really hard to believe.

Riiiight. Did it ''hit home'' before or after his Instagram post talking about spraying women he disagrees with with some kind of disinfectant fluid (that he calls 'terf repellent')?

That tweet, when he already knew he was on the GMC's radar, is arguably even stupider than the Vice interview.

Personal growth is not a single event, you don't arrive at personal growth, I believe my insights regarding these events in relation to last couple days and SM activity over last 3.5 years. I've been through an immensely stressful and challenging period of time. I'm approaching

..the end and I feel I've done whatever necessary for my professional and personal development. As much a speeds to be developed in relation to these events, I feel I've got there. I understand why I'm sat answering questions and those lessons have been learnt

All I can do is make my solid assurances that I've learnt some unforgettable lessons from these events and these events will never rear their ugly head again or happen again. I'm not saying it's implausible the situ would never arise again...

GP: just that last point about reflection where you are now. You told us around the time of the tweets in the bundle, September 2020, that you deleted your twitter account. Why did you do that?

AH: these tweets are only a glimpse of the extent of the abuse coming from the other side. It got to a point the level of abuse and harassment, both online and IRL, became unsustainable. Benefit of my own mental well being j can't continue to engage

Sorry, but this is all nonsense. Three and a half years, two written warnings, practice meetings and meetings with his tutor(s) and it's only now started to sink in?

And he feels he's done whatever necessary? He understands why he's sitting there?

Too little; too late. He's trying to be contrite but it doesn't wash.

...in this profound toxicity...even if meant I was trying to make steps to be jovial, educational, lighthearted...it was always met with a barrage of abuse. Got to a point i can no longer achieve any of the goals I set out. I needed to redirect and efforts elsewhere

My focus on what is important and effective has changed dramatically since then as I say in my statement. The nature of the work I do has changed, am able to directly deal with people in the trans community. As a real life doctor.
