And a stethoscope worn at all times, even in bed with jammies on.

Artichokeleaves · 19/11/2021 09:44

@Personwithrage

There would be lots of front on, eye contact with viewer, shots. With really emphatic and slightly emotional statements
And the entire script drawn from previously shared tweets.

@Redshoeblueshoe I've been mainly reading this board for a few years, it gave me the confidence to speak up with friends and Labour canvassers. I donate, write letters etc Winecheers all!

spondoolikay · 19/11/2021 10:02

@pollywollydoodler same with me. I was always a feminist but this board really clarified my feelings and helped give me confidence. I'm an activist now - would never in a million years have done it without the mumsnet feminist community.

I think it's not looking all that good for Harrop.

Anyway, even if they let him off with a slap on the wrist, who's going to employ him in future? Prospective employers always google people. I think the only people who will give him a job will be the charlatans peddling hormones to children.

This^^

Whatever the sanctions this week has got to have been humiliating for him and anyone googling him gets content that can’t be dismissed as a load of harpies anymore

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/11/2021 10:33

I'd ask PWB to do Harrop The Film.

All that 4th wall stuff where we get Fleabag's inner monologue is joyful. I'd LOVE to see what AH's inner monologue is.

Though, "me me me me" might be hard going for an hour and a half.

Terfasaurus · 19/11/2021 10:34

It’ll be difficult for any hot pink lingerie clad flumps to play the “he should never have been in front of a tribunal” card, when Dr Harrop has had to consume such an enormous portion of humble pie and admit that it was right that he found himself in front of a tribunal.

Won’t stop them from trying, nevertheless. Interestingly Harrop’s main supporters have now either gone silent or protected their accounts having realised that the VICE article was a very bad idea indeed.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/11/2021 10:36

Re people changing their minds because of this board.

Without this place, this tiny chunk of the internet, our rights would be sunk in the UK.

We are not safe yet, but we have come within a baw hair of being second class citizens in an industrialised, wealthy democracy.

Fucking terrifying.

I sincerely hope AH's legal team finds this thread. It's an impossible task, mate. He's impossible. Your job is impossible.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 19/11/2021 10:38

Won't he have the right to have those entries removed (GDPR)?

And, bear in mind the known biases of Google personnel.

PronounssheRa · 19/11/2021 10:39

@Needmoresleep

Joanna Hogg as Director.

Fixed camera essentially framing a group of people, and allowing for lots of silence and facial expressions.

I initially read that last line as farcical expressions 😂
2Rebecca · 19/11/2021 10:39

At the moment with the UK shortage of GPs unless he gets struck off or suspended he will easily find work as a salaried GP or locum. Many female GPs will be reluctant to work with him however.

nauticant · 19/11/2021 10:44

That's his stated career plan: twitter.com/tribunaltweets/status/1461350325168705541

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/11/2021 10:45

What is the state of the Wobbly case? Because I assume that is where medics with a poor grasp of critical thinking and an ego to feed will go.

If she is allowed to continue to practice I guess he'd go there?

(That name is an autocorrect error that can stay)

EgoSumFeminaNaturalis · 19/11/2021 10:48

I wonder if the two doctors on the tribunal panel see what I see, an inadequate man stuck in a phase of arrested development that focuses on 'showing off' and seeking validation from an audience.

It doesn't surprise me he mentioned his mum.

If he cannot learn self-validation his behaviour will not change.

That's what he has in common with certain activists - this demand for validation from others, rather than any desire or ability to find peace within themselves. As they age, they become unstable.

Jeeeez · 19/11/2021 10:51

Wobberley's case is in recess (not a legal term obvs). They ran out of time to make the determination so the panel will reconvene and is due to report in April 2022

I really hope that at some point in the near future there won't be any career opportunities for the charlatans in this country.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/11/2021 10:59

Gosh, ego - that describes the peers of my teens.

this demand for validation from others, rather than any desire or ability to find peace within themselves

No resilience, no ability to think for themselves, just an amorphous blob of people trying to out special each other whilst all using the correct language, wearing the correct clothes, getting the correct piercings and self harm scars and hair dye.

I'm so worried about them. The older lot are on testosterone and I can't bear it. I want them to live long lives and not be 20 with vaginal atrophy. I honestly can't bear it.

I'm not convinced that your statement is transphobia, ego. Concern about people's wellbeing is not hate.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 19/11/2021 10:59

@MissFenella

A god complex is an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility. ... Someone with a god complex may exhibit no regard for the conventions and demands of society, and may request special consideration or privileges.
I don't think he's got a god complex (though there are plenty of medics who have). He certainly has an arrogant and misplaced confidence in his own judgement but, at the same time, he craves external validation. Like a lot of inadequate people, he is hitching himself to a cause, as a way of achieving that validation. As PPs have noted, it's currently trans rights, but in the past he has sought attention via other causes.

If he had a classic god complex, he wouldn't give a toss about women disagreeing with him - he would feel utterly assured of his own rightness. He is threatened by disagreement because he is weak.

It's also interesting that, as a gay man in the still very homophobic world of medicine, he isn't advocating for other gay men but for a group of which he isn't a member. I would say that suggests low self-worth, albeit teamed with arrogance - the two quite often go together IME: presumably the arrogance acts as a shield for the quivering jelly inside.

Lovelyricepudding · 19/11/2021 11:00

One thing that may come out if wobberly's case is whether a GP is qualified to prescribe hormones. If AH was really keen on this in a responsible way then he would train in endocrinology.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/11/2021 11:00

Thanks, Jeeeez.

Didn't realise they'd run out of time.

Bet those poor sods who have to make the decision are having to revise lots of things as the wheels fall off the gender bus.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/11/2021 11:01

I just googled "adrian harrop tweets" and clicked on Images

Good grief!

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/11/2021 11:02

He did say in the evidence that he suffers from low self esteem and body image problems, LucyEye.

LatinforTelly · 19/11/2021 11:02

Just catching up. Thank you to Motorina and others on this thread as well as the live tweeters for giving and interpreting the information.

Have I understood this right - did the tweet where he "coaches" the junior doctor in (false) contrition get discussed, then AH paraphrased it when questioned at the end of his own hearing? Shock

Zilla1 · 19/11/2021 11:06

@Lovelyricepudding in England, shared care protocols or arrangements.
