Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Hung out to dry in Ireland

I just feel like self ID was introduced with zero thought or consultation. So now we're all supposed to sit here and pretend that biological sex doesn't exist? I'm fed up with it and I'm fed up with men encroaching on my space. I really admire the fight back in the UK.

Tis nonsense, sneaky fuckers.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 06/11/2021 23:47

I feel for you. This seems to have been introduced very covertly in Ireland and the consequences have not been reported or the discussion has been discouraged.

You have The Countess, of course, and the women there are splendid.

Yes it was vv quiet.

The govt behaviour around b Kardashian was/is to me just. Really scary tbh. The lengths they went to, to suppress info, vanish everything, hide it. From a western, European etc country I was genuinely shocked.

What is the b Kardashian case? I hadn't heard of it?

Have a good look - nothing is going to change for ppl who are not trans.

I'm currently in Ireland, just tried to watch Rose of Dawn's video and it says: Video unavailable - This content is not available in this country domain due to a court order.

Udouhun · 07/11/2021 00:09

Thanks guys - I'm going to be looking at all of this now.

I've put a few links up but Gript, who broke the story iirc, were forced by Tusla to delete it and a lot of the BK stories are blocked in Ireland. You might even need a VPN to read them, I don't know. The individual had a very troubled childhood, the father was very abusive to the mother and engaged BK then known as AG in the abuse. BK attacked a social worker at one point and ripped her eyelids, and has made threats to kill women in the past. I think the reason behind the original injunction or ruling (I don't know Irish law at all sorry) was that BK was under 18 at the time the story broke. BK is an adult now though
Joolsin · 07/11/2021 00:12

Yes, I'm ever more shocked by all I'm reading and most people I've brought up the subject with have no clue about what was brought in by stealth, the consequences and pitfalls. I also admire the visibility of the kickback in the UK.

FlyingOink · 07/11/2021 00:12

The documents relating to BK being put into care were available online for some time but I can't find them now.

Udouhun · 07/11/2021 00:12

Wtf! That B Kardashian case is crazy! And I'd heard nothing about it. What a fuckin psycho.

OP posts:
Joolsin · 07/11/2021 00:15

And the BK case is horrific. I can't see Rose of Dawn's video either.

Udouhun · 07/11/2021 00:15

I'm definitely not happy to just sit on my ass about all of this. I want to be more proactive. It's a worldwide attack on women's identity and safety. I want more to be happening against it in Ireland.

FlyingOink · 07/11/2021 00:16

This is the story Gript was forced to take down, it isn't on their site at present, this is an archived version.

From my own personal experience, OP, I'd say that the legacy of the church wouldn't have left Ireland in a great position to recognise the misogyny and the dehumanisation of women in all of this.

It's shit.

Masdintle · 07/11/2021 00:27

That story gets to the heart of the problem with enforced pronouns

TurquoiseBaubles · 07/11/2021 00:39

@CatherinaJTV

I bet you don't live in Ireland. Everything has changed here for women.

Right down to us not being able to talk about abortion (which was only allowed a couple of years ago) as a "women's issue".

TurquoiseBaubles · 07/11/2021 00:42

And I'm not surprised that we can't see the Rose of Dawn video. We are all expected to just accept there are no problems here - it's very important that the rest of the world can say "look, there's self-id in Ireland and there are no problems".

Of course there appear to be no problems if no-one is allowed to talk about it, or write about it, or even think about it here [bitter]

KimikosNightmare · 07/11/2021 00:43

@Joolsin

That's quite worrying. Regardless of one's views on trans issues, it's concerning the Ireland should be imposing censorship, if that's what's happening.

Here's Blaire White on the same subject
