These are meant to be clever young people...

Every time I see this stuff, I just feel more and more bafflement and despair.

Do these people really think that a male-bodied person can have PMS?

Who are these young women rushing in to 'be kind' and share their own experiences?

I found the relevant bit from the Dominic Cummings substack. I don’t agree with him on many things and he doesn’t cite any research here but it’s still worth looking at:

‘ The best educated people think they are rational and not susceptible to illusions and stories while the public are irrational and therefore should be corraled by the priests of the ‘cathedral’ (i.e Harvard, Oxbridge, NYT, Guardian), but the truth is that the best educated are more susceptible to illusions and stories than the general uneducated public. (E.g look at how elite graduates fell for Stalinist propaganda in the 1930s, and how elite graduates were the suckers for conspiracy theories on Brexit/Trump/Russia/Facebook. Nobody is easier for a propaganidist to fool than an elite graduate confident in their own moral superiority, because if you get your mesage right they do most of the work for you.)’

It's getting ready for the pantomime season.
Wish very hard boys and boys and you can all have a uterus.
(but it's still handy to have a penis)

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/11/2021 11:54

I don’t believe that the young idiots who are play acting here REALLY want one.

I'm not sure that I agree. Education was one of the major contributions to people not voting for Brexit, IIRC- ie the more education you had received, the less likely to vote to leave. Don't know enough otherwise to have an opinion on the rest of it.
BaronessWrongCrowdRex · 04/11/2021 12:17

@Waahingwashingwashing

That person needs to seek urgent medical advice.
This.

If a male person is feeling pain such as they state then I would recommend them going to see a Doctor as it could be a sign of something quite serious.

flashpaper · 04/11/2021 12:29

Do you have to be a Cambridge student to "confess"? Can anybody message them saying something along the lines of "I got hit in the testicles today and I'm in absolute agony, signed trans man who didn't sign up for this"

flashpaper · 04/11/2021 12:29

And see what replies they get?

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 04/11/2021 12:32

@Bunnyvenom

Someone has suggested they look into endometriosis GrinGrinGrin
Oh to be a fly on the wall when they walk into the GP, "doctor doctor, I think I have endometriosis" Grin

But then I'd think about the strain on the NHS with such BS. But then again if they're in that much pain I suppose it gets their bum onto a GP seat. But then again the surgery might have to deal with the ensuing hoo-ha when the doctor suggests this is a gastric issue or hormone side effects, resulting in a sob story to the local press where the patient cries all the way home because their menstruation fantasy wasn't validated 😐

No shedding uterus lining, no period. Period.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 04/11/2021 12:44

Go James Wilde.

And did you see the one a few above it?

You can try, but I suspect they heavily moderate those allowed through!

I think Cummings' post is that a lot of highly educated people were ready to believe that Brexit, Trump etc were conspiracies without evidence because they didn't want it to be true.

I saw it time and again "well nobody I know voted for Brexit so it must be fake" or best of all "well on Twitter...". All discounting the fact that their circles and Twitter were made up of people like them and were not at all representative, and of course the quiet-Brexiteer phenomenon.

sashh · 04/11/2021 13:12

@Bonnie90x

Oh for goodness sakes, they're taking our bloody PMS from us now aswell!!??
You have not heard of the beetroot juice then?

Yep I have argued this on twitter that you cannot have menstrual cramps if there is nothing to cramp.

MarshmallowSwede · 04/11/2021 13:12

Interesting how a male narcissist flags for attention and how quickly women will give it.

Dick pandering 2.0.

This man does not have PMS. He needs counseling. The women playing along are just giving him narcissistic supply and he is eating it up.

I’ve never been so disappointed in women as I am now. The levels of dick pandering and bending over backwards for men who are attention whores is Pathetic.. with a capital P.

The weak spirited women would rather have a head pat and a Scooby snack from a man over their dignity. What a shame.

lottiegarbanzo · 04/11/2021 13:21

Top trolling.

Those men who believe that women are inherently less intelligent than men really are having a field day, while women fall over themselves to provide the evidence.

That type of man usually has limited social and emotional awareness, by definition - or he'd have noticed and admire many women's high social and emotional intelligence and the problem-solving advantage this often gives them. Thus would not hold the view that women are inherently less able or intelligent. Therefore he will not notice or recognise as important, the social phenomena that underpin these women's smoothing, including, de-escalating behaviours.

QueenSue · 04/11/2021 13:44

A man has replied stating biological facts.
The replies to him are very confused:
My understanding of PMS type pain in trans women is that it is due to side effects of hormone treatment, but perhaps I’m wrong and there are other causes of this? Especially the way they said “didn’t know this was part of the deal” I thought that that sounded like it was an effect of a treatment of some kind! Obviously if this is a trans woman with a uterus and it is that kind of PMS pain, then a doctors visit is also recommended!
A trans woman with a uterus?!

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 04/11/2021 13:48

As the OP said.. .and these are supposed to be clever young people, our future is in their hands!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 04/11/2021 14:02

To be fair, when a senior Labour Party politician advises the nation that men can grow a uterus via hormones, we shouldn't be surprised when the younger generation mirror his profound ignorance Hmm

Well that is very true.
SheldonesqueTheBstard · 04/11/2021 14:12

You would wonder if they’ve been watching *Aunt Irma visits’

And also if they want to print up some Moss and Roy t-shirts.

Glinner bet you to it cherubs. Think on.

LaForza101 · 04/11/2021 14:12

If the side effects of taking estrogen are as similar to PMS as this article indicates then I can see why that term is used. Obv it's not menstruation but the original poster doesn't imply they are menstruating just having PMS -like symptoms, which apparently does include cramps

Erm, surely if a man says "Does anyone have any tips for dealing with PMS" that means that they claim to have PMS?

If this dishonest man wished to be honest he would have used the term "PMS-like symptoms" not "PMS".

I can see why, if your aim is to gaslight women and steal their sex based rights, you would dishonestly claim to have PMS when in reality you have "PMS-like symptoms".

Obviously this post assumes that the male-bodied trans-person in question is taking oestrogen AND suffers PMS like symptoms, neither of which are things we know to be true.

AssassinatedBeauty · 04/11/2021 14:31

Not uterine cramps. Gastrointestinal cramps, caused by taking cross sex hormones. Nothing like the normal complex combination of hormones experienced by women who have a functioning menstrual cycle. The best people to ask for advice on that are other transwomen or their HCP who prescribed the cross sex hormones.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 04/11/2021 14:52

It's all self hypnosis, what, in real women, would be called hysteria. Let's see if anyone wants to coopt that term!

CandidaAlbicans2 · 04/11/2021 15:47

I know there’s some male posters here - I wonder if you can help me boost my sperm count?
I’ve heard diet can improve it.

You need to eat Brazil nuts every day brah

Yup, the selenium will definitely help. You'll need a prostate too so don't forget to stick a walnut up your arse. It's near enough and should work a treat.
