She sounds a struggling mother to a very disturbed child, and I wont even get into her lack of empathy for the victim of the first attack, but several points stand out to me , and I dont think her intervention changes anything about the situation

1. It doesnt matter if her child is trans or not - any confused, disturbed and predatory child like hers, (violent, overtly sexualised, playing about with clothes and presentation for attention) will be validated in any gender identity they choose, signaled by declaration and/or superficial presentation. There will be no questioning of this, and no consideration given to the rights and safety of others.

1. School facilities like gender neutral (mixed sex) toilets and changing, normalize and give opportunity for behavior that has no place in school eg meeting up for sex

(and yes, I'm sure there have been teens having consensual and non consensual activities at school in all eras, but it wasn't exactly made easy by many methods, including facilities design, sex segregation and supervision)

1. There is evidence that the school board knew about and therefore lied about not having had any problems or incidents when trying to pass the gender neutral bathroom policy, and they chose to attempt to silence this being aired and publicized

The mother's not helping anyone, including her child, but I'm not going to assume she is malicious so much as desperate and not coping.

The DM article says 'next year his world imploded'. This was when he committed the crime of rape. And it's HIS world that imploded??? Nothing he did caused it, naturally. He was just the poor victim of the whole thing.

Well, this definitely illustrates the danger of teaching everyone that 'gender' presentations should never be questioned.

If this boy was able to freely visit the girls bathroom purely because he put on a skirt & this was how he got the opportunity to rape a girl on more than one occasion, then it just proves that letting any male wearing female clothes into girls safe spaces is a serious safeguarding issue.

It doesn't matter if he thinks he is transgender or not, the wearing of girls clothes meant he was treated as such & that allowed him to commit crimes.

Is there any evidence at all he identified as a girl? I have also read in some versions that the toilets were not designated gender neutral or whatever until after the incident. Clearly a shit school, a shit parent, and a 15 year old rapist boy but I haven’t overly engaged with this story because it’s not clear it sells the dangers of trans friendly policies in the ways it’s being used, and we all look bad if we beat up incidents to fit the argument. It is a very very good reason for strictly single sex bathrooms, and more evidence of the dangers girls face from boys including in school.

My take-

1. In general with schools USA here etc sex offences are hushed up
2. This story would not be reported at all if not for the dad making a fuss etc

3.. Point 1 again- dad was fucked off because school said nothing happened go away etc and he wouldn't have it

1. Whole article based on mum interview? To what end? How is that news? She sounds at end of tether and protective of son. Random bit about ex husband wife in middle? She's all over the shop.. The interview is imo exploitative
2. Child has long history of inappropriate sexual behaviour, lack of understanding of consent, boundaries. (if mum words reflect reality). Has committed sex offences before and after the incident that got in the news.
3. Judge has said yep rape.

I can say that schools in the US are very much divided by state. After that, they are divided by school districts. They generally conform to county lines but not always. I was in a school district that didn't correspond to our county.

I've seen TRAs on twitter saying the same thing, so it's not outside the realms of possibility.

It looks like the Republican Youngkin is going to take the governorship from the Democrats. The reporting I'm hearing is that this is because of disenchantment with Biden, with no mention of Loudoun County. I wonder what the reality is?
