After the last 2 weeks have people told you "I get it now"?

I saw this on twitter. And similar stories in responses.

I’d like to thank the extreme trans activists who wrote that bullshit response letter to the bbc article on the cotton ceiling & held signs up at the filia conference saying “suck my dick cunt”. Senior manager seen both & called me this morning to say he gets it now.
He also listened to the Nolan podcast in full. Finally more people are seeing this insanity for what it is.

@NancyMK
comment “lesbians should examine their social prejudices” he flat out said “how can this woman be head of a gay rights organisation, but then stonewall aren’t anymore are they”. Yup.

@PatsArrow Sounds as though your son's friend was identifying with the Queen!

Appalonia · 03/11/2021 22:25

I'm in a real life women's group. Inspired by the Scottish Witches, we've been much more active lately, and we've been posting photos of our activism on social media, which has resulted in many more women asking to join us. Things are definitely changing!

I'd love to post photos of what we've been doing, but don't feel safe to post stuff like that here any more, sadly.

ForeverFaithless · 03/11/2021 22:39

WithLargeTableMouse - 😁 were you immediately blocked for telling the truth.

LobsterNapkin · 03/11/2021 22:41

@DiscontentedWoman

My dad, aged 70, ex-mining engineer tentatively brought up The Staniland Question a couple of weekends ago over lunch. I told him he didn't know the bloody half of it - he does now 😉 women won't wheesht indeed
My scruffy manly tradesman relative asked me over coffee recently if I was a TERF. I responded, tentatively, that I supposed so, and he leaned over and said, "don't worry, so am I". So far the only one of my same-age relatives that gets it.

I've taken great pleasure in reading comments from numerous men underneath articles in the Times identifying themselves as terfs! One says he's 'team terf' and all these other male names pop up saying "me too". It makes me chuckle every time.

Appalonia · 03/11/2021 23:28

I'd love a Team TERF T-shirt! Glinner was wearing one last week on his YouTube show. Smile

The tide really seems to be turning- I'm a Telegraph subscriber after getting sick of the Guardian, and every single day now the Telegraph carries something shedding more daylight on this sorry issue. The Nolan podcast was incredible. Huge thanks to the stalwarts of this board who have been saying the unsayable for years now, and finally, it looks like the rest of society is waking up.

TW9resident · 04/11/2021 09:14

Sorry not just the stalwarts of this board, also FPFW, LGB Alliance, JKR etc etc.

@GreyhoundG1rl

Both are very shy, vulnerable girls who now dress in 'boy's' uniform and have adopted (very unusual) boys names. They try to make themselves invisible I literally don't understand this. They announce that they're the opposite sex, dressing like boys and adopting stand out male names; yet are so quiet and shy they enshew all attention and try to make themselves invisible? Nope.
Neither do I understand... but it seems to me plausible that two young teen girls could wish to opt out of the attention and visibility of being pubescent girls, and that they feel that the best way to do that is by opting out of womanhood and by keep their heads down.

It would be good to try to collate ideas in terms of how to answer that question. If I was in a work environment where I felt vulnerable I think I might answer something like "I don't really understand all of the issues, but from what I can see pretty much everyone is a TERF - I saw someone online being called a TERF because she refused to agree that trans women are women in an absolutely 100% identical way to the way adult human females are women, and surely everyone understands that there are biological differences between men and women... don't they?"

Yeah, you could have something there...

JustFrustrated · 04/11/2021 14:20

Kathleen Stock did it for my DH. He saw about it, read up and yesterday pinged me the woman's hour interview.

People are slowly seeing reason.

GlowingGardens · 04/11/2021 17:02

To add to the litany of elderly dads who get it, Mine is heading fast for 80, was a Brexiter and is a Tory-voter.

He is also a strong feminist and always has been. He followed the Maya Fortstater case deeply from the beginning and can give chapter and verse on that case and the issues. he rang me this week demanding I turn on WH when Dr Stock was on and if only would access Twitter would be right in there with in the thick of it.

FindTheTruth · 04/11/2021 17:10

Glowing, your Dad sounds ❤️

He's brilliant. :) Several times a week he telephones me to draw my attention to another current issue.

Kenneldogsrock · 04/11/2021 17:28

@GlowingGardens your dad I’d brilliant. My dad is the same and he keeps saying to me ‘have you seen this?’. He and my mum totally get it and are appalled for me and my sis.

334bu · 04/11/2021 17:41

My son was in a conversation where something about women's rights came up and remarked that I would be up in arms about it. Cue question "Is your mum a Terf" Answer "Yes" Further response " Good for her" and nods of agreement all round.

zafferana · 05/11/2021 08:02

@refusetobeasheep

I was in a black cab last night for the first time in years ,,,, cabbie totally gets it
This stuff is in ALL the papers now - from the broadsheets to the tabloids - so people of all ages, political stripes and opinions and those who'd never read Twitter or online chat groups are getting a chance to find out all about it. And guess what? They are as appalled as those of us who've known about it for longer.
ikeairgin · 05/11/2021 08:56

My two young adult boys have known for a couple of years of my views. At first they were all embarrassed by it, to starting to slur me with the terf label, to now getting it.

One's at uni and he's proudly said he's standing up for "girls only in girls toilets"

The tide is turning

ditalini · 05/11/2021 09:14

It don't even believe that the ones that come on here and yell that we're the minority for knowing that sex is real and immutable actually believe that.

Tis all queer theory isn't it? Just keep saying what you want to be true and the rainbow magic will make it so.

Cailin66 · 05/11/2021 09:20

Told my eldest in a captured university that I'm a proud Terf, was told it was something I shouldn't be announcing, so I keep sending articles and today sent off some of your ladies proud Terf posts. Great to hear that many of your man-folk also get it.

zafferana · 05/11/2021 10:53

in a captured university

Are any universities not captured? I saw an article yesterday about an academic at my old uni and she was saying she's been removed as a teacher of gender studies because of her GC views. I despair that these institutions that are supposed to encourage critical thinking and debate are all trotting out lies and falsehoods without any kind of critical thinking themselves. It's an outrage! www.thetimes.co.uk/article/200-academics-tell-of-death-threats-and-abuse-as-battle-rages-for-free-speech-hp99fnzjh

Mine gets it and always has. He’s v much live and let live, until it harms me or our daughters. Never had to argue with him.

Any blokes I know who play sport got the argument about TW in female sports quickly. Especially if they play a contact sport.
