I’d like to thank the extreme trans activists who wrote that bullshit response letter to the bbc article on the cotton ceiling & held signs up at the filia conference saying “suck my dick cunt”. Senior manager seen both & called me this morning to say he gets it now.
He also listened to the Nolan podcast in full. Finally more people are seeing this insanity for what it is.

Things are changing, slowly but surely.

He brought up the subject with me of how she had been bullied out of her job by trans activists and compared them to the climate protesters blocking the M25 and said that everyone hates them.
I was quite surprised he was aware of the issue.

I agree. I have had 4 conversations with friends/family in the last few weeks - none instigated by me - where people have expressed unease about where gender ideology is going. Prior to this, it seemed nobody seemed to be particularly aware.

I think the Prof Stock affair has been the tipping point. Prior to that the debate was mainly online. When it discussed on mainstream news was the moment "ordinary" people have sat up and noticed. So yes, well done TRAs.

Yes I mentioned to a colleague about the Nolan podcasts and we had a great discussion about the safeguarding issues for women and girls with self id and sex based protected spaces and how we had felt unable to speak out because of reactions we’d seen to others who had. It felt really good actually being able to talk about it (and crazy that we hadn’t felt able to before but there we go, I’m very grateful to the braver women than me who have spoken out).

Yes, three people have bought it up with me unprompted in the last few weeks. Telling me it's mad and taking the piss out of it all.

I also hear my teenage niece is getting over it all. Realising her trans identifying friends are a drain on her and that she doesn't buy it all anymore from them.

I feel very differently about it all now. Next time I need to challenge something like this I will do so without trepidation. The winds have certainly changed.

This is something that I have noticed. My teen has moved away from some of the friends that were making their trans status the focus of their lives. All but one. My teen could simply not handle the constant drama around their lives.

DP went to football with his dad on Sunday. Came up in conversation. Very concerned with woke lack of nuance these days apparently. Thinks its insane how no-one can just come to a reasonable accommodate all solution (ie. Mens, womens, and mixed)

Both my teens and their friends have been doing a lot of eye rolling for a while. When I'm driving a carload of them around I like to eavesdrop 😉

The thing they're sniggering are most is non-binary. They have no truck with that.

My DS's friend who's a middle class heterosexual boy has stopped wearing skirts, pearls and twinsets to sixth form (claiming he was challenging gender stereotypes) and mansplaining feminism....I think he realised his friends were giving him a wide berth. He now back in jeans and a hoodie.

Things are shifting, slowly.

@Helleofabore I hear she is forming a friendship group with people who wish to distance themselves from the the drama of the trans and label type people. I'm really pleased personally. At that age we were just all having a laugh and getting drunk. Pure hedonism. If you can't have fun when young, when can you?

Dave Chapelle has done it for several younger people in my family.

He has a massive influence.

After overhearing conversations between a group of lesbian and bisexual young teens about how lesbians must accept males for sex or they are transphobic, I am very much against adults who have an agenda to push discussing this with children and teens.

I have 3 teens and sadly, 2 of minear eright int he thick of this.
One is non-binary. 16, has changed her name by deed poll on her 16th birthday. She is gay, and I am sure that she naturally just a butch lesbian.
One is 13 and constantly says she is trans depsite all the evidence to the contrary (she loves skirts and make-up and jewellry, and a crush on a boy)

I feel like my family has been torn apart by this.
My son is 18 and thinks the whole thing is nonsense. Sometimes I talk to him and it is like a breath of fresh air, normality. He likes clubbing and going to the pub, and is off at uni playing football and making friends to share a house with.
So. bloody. normal.
I despair for my girls, I really do.

@steppemum nothing to add but I do understand your worry and upset. Being a teenager has always been tough. Hopefully they just need some time to mature further.

It is very hard to know how to balance their needs and to know what is the best way forward. That is in addition to the love and support you give them, of course.

I have several friends also going through this with their families too.

Yup, my DS (21) has started distancing himself from some of his friends who are LGBT (mostly the B & T ones) saying they are just so obsessively one-dimensional and everything is a drama.
He's found some lovely new friends in a hobby-based club he's joined at uni.

Surely a boy wearing a twinset and pearls IS challenging gender stereotypes? Unless he also claims that makes him a girl.

I'm saddened whenever someone decides they're not trans and reverts to stereotypes associated with their sex. Instead of keeping their new, gender nonconforming look but no longer insisting it makes them the opposite sex.

I also think that many children have had enough. There have been some gender discussions in school and DS was initially interested and questioning about gender of his class mates.

But yesterday he went to school with some face paint left (around the eyes) from Halloween. I asked him if someone would think he was a girl as he looked like he was wearing makeup. He just laughed and said “nobody would be that stupid”.

Some of the staff at the Portsmouth guildhall told us they had learnt so much from the FiLiA conference and would be talking about this subject amongst friends and family. My MIL heard Raquel Rosario Sanchez on radio 4 and asked me about it, she was appalled and did a bit of digging for Raquel. It's reaching joe public.

We had parents bringing it up on coffee morning. They thought it was ridiculous and were very unhappy that gender was taught in school. I was amazed. I have usually been so careful with these discussions IRL but they went full in.
