After the last 2 weeks have people told you "I get it now"?

I saw this on twitter. And similar stories in responses.

I’d like to thank the extreme trans activists who wrote that bullshit response letter to the bbc article on the cotton ceiling & held signs up at the filia conference saying “suck my dick cunt”. Senior manager seen both & called me this morning to say he gets it now.
He also listened to the Nolan podcast in full. Finally more people are seeing this insanity for what it is.
On
@NancyMK
comment “lesbians should examine their social prejudices” he flat out said “how can this woman be head of a gay rights organisation, but then stonewall aren’t anymore are they”. Yup.

manatsu I would draw the same conclusion as you. I'd feel he'd explicitly allied against women, lesbian or not.

It's inhumane.

Fukuraptor · 02/11/2021 18:15

@manatsu I'm so sorry not only that that happened to you, but also that your 'friend' could know that and still not get it.

At my teens' school there are only two young people who are known to be trans. Both are very shy, vulnerable girls who now dress in 'boy's' uniform and have adopted (very unusual) boys names. They try to make themselves invisible and the student body and staff are supporting them well (quietly and without any spotlights being shone).
My children have no idea about the narcissistic personality disordered and self absorbed contingent and when they do this will definitely challenge their thinking/ understanding.

Mummyoflittledragon · 03/11/2021 09:07

@manatsu

And I'm sure the right side of history types will screenshot me and either not believe me or laugh about my rape as I found they did last time I talked about this. I can't take it anymore
Flowers These men are disgusting. Not you.
Mummyoflittledragon · 03/11/2021 09:09

@Threadbaretoe
I do hope the school are supporting them properly. My dd’s former school is totally stonewall captured and the ‘support’ would not be positive.

twelly · 03/11/2021 09:29

I hope the tide is turning - too many young people mostly girls have fallen victim to this ideology - it is my view a dangerous trend which can see them pushed down a road where they will find it hard to turn back. I feel that schools and colleges for the under 18 have in many cases been too willing to support their pupils and students just accepting what they say with no challenge.

ANameChangeAgain · 03/11/2021 10:04

I think you're right too. The more it's spoken about and the more both sides are understood the better and safer it is for everyone concerned, women and transwomen. A good friend of my DD's is a trans teen girl. Dd and her other friends made it clear they accepted her as her, but boundaries such as not changing with the girls were important. I was really proud of them.

Speaking of extremists, Joss Prior is threatening to infect feminists with Covid:

twitter.com/joss_prior/status/1455830953889345538?t=RJYwAhDm7N3sDtGFajNqkA&s=19

Is deliberately infecting people an offence? What about threatening to do so?

steppemum · 03/11/2021 10:31

Prof. Stock is on women's hour now.

Very good interview

Whitefire · 03/11/2021 10:45

Not going to stoop to your level Joss, hope you feel better soon.

FindTheTruth · 03/11/2021 10:55

I'd also like to thank Director General Tim Davie for his drive to facilitate a space where we can properly debate these issues. this article has links to some of the strategic moves made at senior levels, reprimands of tweets and impartiality rows....

@WanderingSoutherner

DdraigGoch None of the girls I went to sixth form with wore skirts, pearls and twinsets. Most wore jeans and hoodies, just like the boys.

Some of the girls in my sixth form wore twinsets, due to a brief resurgence of them circa 2000. But anyway, they are clothing stereotypically associated with women, not men, so a man or boy wearing them is breaking gender stereotypes, which is great (unless they conform to stereotypes by claiming it reflects an inner female identity).

Coyoacan I think it is sad that so many people think that the only way to be different is externally, in our clothes etc. In my humble opinion, the more people dress outlandishly the more conformist they are inside.

I agree, in the main. Although there's a difference between dressing outlandishly whilst surrounded by people telling you that's amazing, and dressing in a way that's outside of norms but doesn't come with extra special social status (and maybe even the opposite).

But anyway, I was referring to the situations where someone thinks they're trans, say a boy who starts wearing dresses, then decides they're actually a boy so stops wearing dresses. If he likes the dresses, isn't it sad that accepting his biological sex comes with not wearing them any more? Its just something I've noticed in some accounts and it seems a shame.
Perhaps I am biased after seeing one of the small children I look after being socially transitioned by his mother because he liked sparkly things and dresses.

In a lot of these instances I don;t think it has anything to do with some deep internal attraction to twinsets (or whatever.) The twinsets appear because they want attention.
BlackeyedSusan · 03/11/2021 12:13

@manatsu Flowers So sorry my lovely. The people laughing are the ones who should be ashamed and are definitely the wrong side of decent human beings.

daringdoris · 03/11/2021 12:29

So far I've had the opposite too Sad
Not with family but with some 'friends' who are obviously completely captured by the ideology, and who have quite dominant personalities so everyone else agreed with them too.
It made me feel quite down, and I've decided never to bring it up unless it's with someone I trust, or if someone gives me a 'clue' that they get it...

NotTerfNorCis · 03/11/2021 12:30

Thanks drinkingwine. Yes, Prior often wishes death on feminists and Twitter does nothing. Imagine the hysteria if a feminist acted the same way towards TRAs.

lanadelgrey · 03/11/2021 13:55

In a museum over half-term which was busily queering it’s ethnographic collection and was talking to a guide/conservator who thought the whole thing was BS. He reached peak annoyance at small cuddly toy that had been added to a display with explanation of why it was important to a trans/nb person

This stuff is awful. It happens to some extent with other identity issues too. Some people are so desperate to include some group that they will push forward anything, sometimes even things that aren't true. I had a class when I was about 16 where we were taught that Aristotle stole all his ideas from black Africans.

But things like this - the stuffy, people see through it when they go to look in the museum. They know it's trivial. It doesn't help the cause.

RepentMotherfucker · 03/11/2021 16:45

My Y8 DD at the dinner table with a friend just now laughing about the form they filled in for their CATs tests last year - 'Male, Female or other! There's no 'other'! You're male or female!'

She does the same about people with pronoun badges too 'She/her? It's a girls' school! We're all she/her!'

Love that kid Grin

Don't get me started on the CATs data being fucking worthless now though.

I literally don't understand this. They announce that they're the opposite sex, dressing like boys and adopting stand out male names; yet are so quiet and shy they enshew all attention and try to make themselves invisible?
Nope.

Unfortunately I have stooped and replied to Joss ‘I hope you don’t get too sick, apparently it’s worse for men’. Oops Blush

My dad, aged 70, ex-mining engineer tentatively brought up The Staniland Question a couple of weekends ago over lunch. I told him he didn't know the bloody half of it - he does now 😉 women won't wheesht indeed

DialSquare · 03/11/2021 22:14

I had COVID before Joss. Similarly with tits.
