Legal fictions are legal realities
There's no reason why trans women who are legally recognised as women shouldn't be free to use women's bathrooms
Yes, this

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/10/2021 01:41

"Legal fictions" are legal realities.

Which are fictional, on paper only. That's what the term means. Tesco is a person, but if I break the window of one I'm prosecuted for criminal damage rather than ABH. It's not possible to change sex; and GRC holding males can potentially be excluded from female spaces.

SpookySeason77 · 25/10/2021 01:41

@Ereshkigalangcleg

I'm literally a woman. By your definition. I don't see how trans women also being women forces anything on me.

So? You don't get to consent for me by proxy to males violating my privacy and my dignity. Why are you so invested in doing that?

Because other people's ability to use the loo isn't something you get veto power over. Public bathrooms aren't your property. You can go set up a personal bathroom in your mansion or something.
OldCrone · 25/10/2021 01:41

And here's the funny thing, no one cares what bigots consider disrespectful.

Define bigot.

"Legal fictions" are legal realities. There's no reason why trans women who are legally recognized as women shouldn't be free to use women's bathrooms.

How do we tell the difference between a transwoman and a man?

Are you just arguing for everything to be mixed sex?

334bu · 25/10/2021 01:42

Legal fictions" are legal realities. There's no reason why trans women who are legally recognized as women shouldn't be free to use women's bathrooms.

But most transwomen are legally recognized as men because they do not have a GRC.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/10/2021 01:42

It's all such an obvious dominance display, and more and more people are waking up to it every day.

PanicPrevention · 25/10/2021 01:43

it forces penis on people who don't consent to being in the vicinity of penis.
reminds me of something... hmm.

PanicPrevention · 25/10/2021 01:44

"It's disrespectful for any male to use a female only space, regardless of legal fictions."

And here's the funny thing, no one cares what bigots women consider disrespectful.

SpookySeason77 · 25/10/2021 01:45

Uh, I'm pretty sure no one is "forcing penis on you".
CorvusPurpureus · 25/10/2021 01:45

Just the GRC holders, then? No other males?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/10/2021 01:46

trans women who are legally recognized as women

That's about 3000 only then. And they aren't recognised as women in some circumstances as both the GRA and EA have exceptions.

Do you scream "rape" whenever a man stands in front of you in a shop queue because you've been "forced to be in vicinity of a penis"?

You're like a living caricature of what MRAs think feminists are.

When was the last time you actually saw anything like that in a toilet? I don't know where other people go to but in all my years we've always been in cubicles in public toilets. You wouldn't even know what the person peeing in a nearby cubicle had!
PanicPrevention · 25/10/2021 01:50

ha fucking ha. yes so funny. a joke we've not all heard before.
(dies laughing) not.
males keep out of women's spaces.
the ones who won't, the ones who will override womens boundaries, are exactly the entitled males we know we need to keep out, no matter the fuck what they're wearing, we don't care, we know you're men, and we know you're men with no regard for women's privacy or dignity.
we said no.
no.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/10/2021 01:51

It's just nasty, and misogynistic, and most people can see that. And that is why they are waking up.

SpookySeason77 · 25/10/2021 01:52

I mean, as @NoNotMeNoSiree pointed out, you do realize bathrooms have cubicles, right? That using the same bathrooms doesn't actually expose you to other people's genitals?

SpookySeason77 · 25/10/2021 01:55

Congrats on doing your part for the reactionary movement. Reinstating patriarchal theocracy to keep the transgenders out. Sure did wonders for women in Hungary or Poland.

Indeed. & those of us who woke up to it a while ago, are finding our patience a little frayed by the everlasting peacocking.

Women are about done with being polite in the general direction of silly, strutting numptiness.

OldCrone · 25/10/2021 01:55

@SpookySeason77

Why are you both obsessed with toilets?

Do you think male prisoners (with penises) should be in women's prisons?

NonnyMouse1337 · 25/10/2021 01:56

Do disabled women have a right to receive intimate care from female only carers or does that make them a bigot?

NoNotMeNoSiree · 25/10/2021 01:56

Much discussion, well done Confused Grin

NonnyMouse1337 · 25/10/2021 01:57

Do women who have been raped have a right to be intimately examined by a female medical examiner or does that make them a bigot?

A person should always have the right to be able to choose who they want to examine them.
CorvusPurpureus · 25/10/2021 01:59

Have we had a sneery & dismissive comment yet about how silly women worrying about willies in female spaces are just, like, paranoid about being raped?

Why yes, of course we have.
