200 million girls and women around the world are living with the lifelong health ramifications of FGM.

1 in every 130 girls and women is living her life in modern slavery.

22 girls under 18 get forced into "marriage" every minute. We don't know the figures for over 18s, because it's harder to count them.

60 girls die every day from complications of pregnancies that would never have happened, if they hadn't been raped.

Milo, congratulations on your white feminism.

LadyCampanulaTottington · 13/10/2021 08:47

It's a modern day witch hunt isn't it?

How to spot a Terfwitch and report it to Goody Jones who will call for her to be tested on Twitter where she will be "virtually" lynched then drowned. If she dies gets cancelled, she was innocent.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 13/10/2021 08:54

The conviction rate for rape in this country is so low, rape may as well be legal.

And if you want to murder a woman and get away with it, just rape her first. Then you can claim her death was "sex gone wrong".

Domestic violence is up, and women lost their jobs in huge numbers because someone had to look after the children. (Johnson's government and its last minute decisions made this worse for women whenever possible.)

There is a huge sex-gap in pensions.

But Milo will put some pads in the men's toilets so that fixes it all.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 13/10/2021 08:56

And women are being excluded from rape crisis centres after they've been subjected to rape

@Datun

Trans liberation is an essential part of feminism, and in the current climate any feminist organisation doing valuable work will have trans liberation and transfeminism integral to what they are doing

"Men accessing women's spaces is an essential part of feminism, and in the current climate any feminist organisation doing valuable work will have mens demands integral to what they are doing"

One could be forgiven for watching the evidence of what is being said, and how male people taking women's positions are treating that post and naming as their policies, and believe that the aim is that there will be the male resources and issues for males who identify as men; there will be the male resources and issues for males who identify as women.

But male people will own everything, control everything and everything will be centred exclusively upon their needs and experience.

Female people come nowhere in any of this agenda and are of no interest.

I think we've now explored whether someone male can represent female interests equally and adequately within a mix sex brief, or in a mixed sex version of women's services, and it's exactly what was predicted from the start. Witness male socialisation in action, and the absolute disregard and dismissal of female people as anything other than supporting helpers or sources of annoyance if they fail to provide this.

#nothankyou

Like the GRA - we tried. Male people made it clear they would not be fair or use that option responsibly. Female people need female only resources, services, spaces, provided and protected in law because they will not be equally shared or permitted otherwise. Demonstrating the inequality female born people live with as a sex based need.

I know I'm quoting my own post, but they can't help themselves. They are categorising the sort of work that they want feminist organisations to do on their behalf as 'valuable work.'

It's like they can't help promoting the status of feminism to 'valuable', as soon as it centres men.

Artichokeleaves · 13/10/2021 10:08

Which rule of misogyny?

Everything female people want to have, do, say or need must be useful to male people, otherwise it's worthless.

Yes.

Isn't Milo a woman who identifies as a they/he?

LonginesPrime · 13/10/2021 11:26

Isn't Milo a woman who identifies as a they/he?

I think there, the question becomes "how can a woman who denies the biological reality of their own female body be expected to advocate for the protection of other female bodies?"

I wouldn't want someone who doesn't believe in sex defending my sex-based rights, as they clearly don't have a sound understanding of my lived reality.

I was thinking more of the experience of Madigan and Wadhwa in women's roles, but yes, would extend that to a female person in this case who identifies as a man and equally prioritises male experience, voices, issues, needs over female ones.
areyoufinkiddingme · 13/10/2021 13:33

So why does Milo want to be the women's officer? Does Milo realise that Milo's biology is female and that fact can't be escaped?

But then in the leaflet Milo denies that biological sex has anything to do with anything.

So why does someone who believes they are man want to be a women's officer?

Artichokeleaves · 13/10/2021 14:42

In order to commandeer female spaces, resources, attention from govt, campaigns, and to re focus them on TQ+

Artichokeleaves · 13/10/2021 14:44

Females Having Stuff (ANY STUFF) Is Wrong.

The only righteous women are male ones.

Female erasure and subordination in law is necessary and good for the betterment of people born male and to a much lesser extent to those identifying as male a bit, and good female people don't resist it.

This is the extremist belief you're looking at.

foxgoosefinch · 13/10/2021 15:30

So, this student:

-Identifies as a man, but wants to be women’s officer representing women.

-Identifies as a man, but is at a women’s college (presumably by virtue of being female). (Despite the fact that changing gender is one of the few instances when it’s possible to make a case to transfer to another college, “he” doesn’t seem to have done so.)

So Milo wants both privileges. Being both female and being a man. Surely if you identify as a man you would be keen not to be seen to rely on your femaleness as a means of accessing places, roles, opportunities etc. intended fo be reserved for women?

I tend to think in cases like this, it appears like there’s less an adherence to an ideology going on, and more an apparent desire to disrupt and take things away from others. It bespeaks of a hypocrisy that knows quite well that it’s having things both ways but wants to enact some kind of destructive revenge on other people. I’ve never ever seen gay, bi or lesbian people (of whom I am one) doing anything comparable.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 13/10/2021 15:41

How old is Milo? 21 year olds are often massive idiots (I was and I’m bloody glad making a show of myself on the internet wasn’t an option for me then)
