I thought this was a parody but apparently not

This is a rehash of an old leaflet they produced a few years back. A complaint letter was organised by Cambridge alumnae, sent to the then women’s officer at CUSU plus a number of academic staff holding senior positions in equality & diversity roles. No reply.

Luxury beliefs for over privileged wankers...

senua · 12/10/2021 12:15

"As SU Women’s Officer I represent students of marginalized genders, and lead the SU Women’s Campaign".
The Women's Officer gives women second billing.

"Keep the Women’s Campaign accessible, anti-racist, and trans and sex worker inclusive".
Not even fourth billing this time.

Milo and their manifesto

Helleofabore · 12/10/2021 12:20

Milo seems to be very much more focused on trans rights than women's rights.

It then makes a mockery of having a separate women's officer.

Standstheclockattentothree · 12/10/2021 12:25

Indeed. At least Milo tells us that, as women's officer, Milo isn't representing women.

Jesus wept, however did it get to this?

Helleofabore · 12/10/2021 12:29

For those on twitter.

Here is the cure for accidental feminist contact.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 12/10/2021 12:36
  • marginalized genders
  • anti-racist
  • trans and sex worker inclusive.
  • student carers a priority

So... anyine and everyone, but not the people for whom thepost was invented?

nothingcomestonothing · 12/10/2021 12:51

I don't understand why a person of he/they pronouns with these kinds of views wants to be Women's Officer. I also don't understand why a trans man would choose to attend a women's college. Baffled Hmm

ArtemesiaK · 12/10/2021 12:52

Nothing to do with women, then.....

"Why did you run for this role

Most of all I want to make this University a better place for the marginalized students who study here. A lot of policy is made with no consideration towards how it will impact students differently on the basis of gender. This role is a natural continuation of the work I did with the SU LGBT+ Campaign and on my college’s JCR during my time as a student."

Angrysaurus · 12/10/2021 12:59

I wondered how long it would be before they called GC views ideology, we already have GC cult.

Hoppinggreen · 12/10/2021 13:05

I’m confused
If TW are women and TM are men then how can a TM be Women’s officer?

Hoppinggreen · 12/10/2021 13:05

And how can a TM attend a women’s only college?

Angrysaurus · 12/10/2021 13:12

Because 'TRANS'. Most oppressed can make the rules. Keep up.

RoastChicory · 12/10/2021 13:18

Because being a women’s officer and being at a woman’s college demonstrate male entitlement/living as a man?

2bazookas · 12/10/2021 13:30

What a load of crap that link was!

I'm appalled at the sheer lies and lack of awareness.

MistandMud · 12/10/2021 13:32

Oh goodness, he/she/they looks and writes exactly like any other slightly naive young woman.

He/she/they used to be on the university women's netball team. How very self-misgendering of him/her/them.

Why on earth does he/she/they need to identify as a man in order to live a happy life?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2021 13:57

"As SU Women’s Officer I represent students of marginalized genders, and lead the SU Women’s Campaign".

It's not the "'marginalised genders" campaign. There is already an LGBTQ officer presumably. Why is this person a woman's officer if they don't believe they are a woman? Have cake, eat it and I'll have yours too.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2021 13:58

It's all just a power trip, basically.

parentalhelpline · 12/10/2021 14:03

This was a recent Camfess. There are obviously some very confused young people at Cambridge, and that guide won't help.

parentalhelpline · 12/10/2021 14:04

Can't get the screenshots to attach. Confused

terryleather · 12/10/2021 14:04

Yup.
PartyStory · 12/10/2021 14:04

They forgot to mention the tails and horns.

parentalhelpline · 12/10/2021 14:05

Trying again.

It's been an ongoing thing for some years for women's officer posts to be targeted and taken specifically in order to turn the post into a TQ+ post that actively removes representation for women, and replaces addressing their issues with TQ+ ones.

Madigan as I remember would not represent or even engage with anyone about female specific women's issues as they were 'exclusionary'.
