I thought this was a parody but apparently not

Wow. Advising people they need to ask where the TERFY woman got her ideas from. Has she been looking in bad places online?

Because, of course, she couldn't possibly be thinking for herself. 😕

Helleofabore · 12/10/2021 16:35

Or newlygranny... you know understanding stable science....

merrymouse · 12/10/2021 16:39

@CovoidOfAllHumanity

'Women are not a homogeneous group and some people who experience misogyny are not women'

Now we know where Dominic Raab was getting his information

The strange thing is that somehow in societies where there is strict sex segregation (Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, the priesthood) there seem to remarkably few cases of women and men being accidentally misclassified. 🤔

ifIwerenotanandroid · 12/10/2021 16:56

How to spot terf ideology?

  1. It makes sense.
  2. It cares about women & girls.
  3. It knows what women & girls are.
  4. It knows what safeguarding is & why it's necessary.
  5. It's based on science & social reality.
  6. It's shared by most of the population, whether they'd call it that or not.
  7. It's usually discussed with passion & humour.
  8. Its proponents are fond of haberdashery & dinosaur costumes.

Not to mention that male humans have a fast way to ensure they don't experience the oppression, abuse and lack of rights that female humans have no way to escape.
Alekto · 12/10/2021 17:13

I am sure this was mentioned when the university's Cambridge Rad Fems were on the Filia podcast filia.org.uk/latest-news/2021/1/3/cambridge-radical-feminist-network-centring-womens-rights-in-academia

It's been a while since I listened though so I might have misremembered.

HermioneWeasley · 12/10/2021 17:18

“They refer to believing in “sex-based rights”, “LGB rights”, and “protecting women and girls”

Bastards

NotTerfNorCis · 12/10/2021 18:55

It hasn't gone down well on Twitter.

Dominic Raab went to Cambridge too. Really Milo and Dominic are just two peas in a pod.

Clymene · 12/10/2021 19:15

Is it me or is it weird that someone who is female but identifies as male wants to be women's officer?

Artichokeleaves · 12/10/2021 19:21

It's about taking a post to refocus and redirect it away from female people to more important people.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 12/10/2021 19:37

The primary TERF assertion is that trans women are not women, and accordingly have no place in women’s spaces. TERFs define misogyny as sex-based oppression, which results from being “biologically female”

the scare quotes!

I wonder what they think 'gynaecologist' means?

PattiPritell · 12/10/2021 19:46

Since the UK Sports Councils new guidelines for trans inclusion I 'm not so interested in what terf hating extremists are saying.

aweegc · 12/10/2021 20:01

That reads like Roahld Dahl's description of how to spot a witch! It's just missing the scratchy scalps! 😂

NiceGerbil · 12/10/2021 20:24

@parentalhelpline

Trying again.
Christ almighty!

How has it but crossed the mind of this young chap that gender is not what's going on with him.

That in fact he is a member of a very very old and pretty large group of other men who feel the same way.

i.e. Those with a well documented psychosexual condition (paraphilia). Called transvestic fetishism.

It is a condition that is not unusual in sex offenders of various types.

If any who want to jump in and reprimand for kink shaming / suggesting X people are all sex offenders etc.

Don't bother. This is all widely medically accepted info, that has been known and studied for yonks. Google and you will see.

Just grabbed this from Google first page results-

'Separation from parents, same-sex sexual experiences, being easily sexually aroused, pornography use, and higher masturbation frequency were significantly associated with transvestic fetishism. A positive attitude to this sexual practice and paraphilia indicatorssexual arousal from using pain, exposing genitals to a stranger, and spying on others having sexwere particularly strong correlates to the dependent variable.'

Ekofisk · 12/10/2021 20:33

So a female that identifies as a man but, being brave and stunning, overcomes their gender issues to become “women’s officer” then thinks they can lecture women on being Terfs?

Milo (yeah right, we can see you) can fuck right off.

NiceGerbil · 12/10/2021 20:39

And this is an area that exposes (no pun intended!) the total contempt for women and girls. The total refusal to even consider what women have been saying for years. In fact to just ignore it and tell anyone who points it out that they are bigots, Nazis, religious traditionalists with outdated prudish views, hysterical, fear mongers, hate all males.

And best of all. Only raise their totally fucking obvious reasons for saying no to xyz. Because they want to have a group of people in society (men women children) exterminated. It's definitely nothing to do with protecting women and girls.

A priority of this movement is to get single sex spaces opened up to males. Everyone knows the obvious massive risks. The people who have fought to get so much changed from single sex to gender. They know full well. They DO NOT CARE. Hence the meh reactions to k white, WiSpa guy, b Kardashian, plenty more. No shock horror. No OMG this is terrible mustn't happen again.

Nope. Meh. Shrug. And you women STFU about it, couldn't care less.

Ekofisk · 12/10/2021 21:07

And when your “women’s officer” is busy being part of “Dragtime!” you might wonder how they can support women?

I wish I hadn't seen that. I didn't think I could dislike drag more, but that version of Wuthering Heights made me die a little inside.

Blimey, it hasn't, has it?
Milo's arse being handed to he-him-they-them on a large platter.

Ekofisk · 12/10/2021 21:16

Hopefully drag will be assigned to the same “not worthy of respect in a democratic society” bin as The Black and White Minstrel Show.

redsplodge · 12/10/2021 21:21

Milo's manifesto had four points -
1 - diversity training for staff. Omitted to mention the need for this to address women's issues whilst mentioning other disadvantaged groups.
2 - access to IT. I fail to see how this is a women's issue rather than an everyone issue.
3 - consent education. Finally, a policy that will address a problem disproportionately impacting women, yay! But how good will it be when delivered by someone steeped in an ideology that refuses to hear the word 'no' when uttered by the wrong sort of woman?
4 - free period products. Again, should be a good policy, but in all toilets, even the men's? I think we all know what will happen there. Also manages to not mention that women have periods.

Depressing. You're women's officer Milo. You have one job FFS.

Ekofisk · 12/10/2021 21:27

Milo will insist that period products are available in the men’s toilets. Milo will think this is important because Milo thinks that men can have periods.
