And where did Patricia Hannah-Wood, a trans woman, suffer this "abuse"?

In the loos, apparently. The women's loos, I assume.

I wonder what the nature of this alleged abuse is? A woman expressing her discomfort with having to share a female-only space with a male-bodied person?

But as we have been told, there is no conflict between women's rights and trans rights, so...

That article credits the pic to you tube.

I cannot find the vid on YouTube.

Original link not working.

Nothing I can find on Google or Twitter.

What's going on?

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 22:21

That YouTube takes me to their livestream and you can't wind back.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 28/09/2021 22:22

My attempt at a link:

If you search YouTube for "watch labour conference 2021 live day 4" it'll bring up a list, make sure you click the day 4 one. Clip is at about -5:15

DdraigGoch · 28/09/2021 22:22

The automated subtitles could do with some refinement. Some of the misinterpretations were quite amusing.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 28/09/2021 22:22

You should be able to wind back by clicking on the thin red bar at the bottom.

DdraigGoch · 28/09/2021 22:23

Works fine for me on my laptop. What device are you using?
DdraigGoch · 28/09/2021 22:23

I would assume "it" meant the speech, rather than the Councillor.
Or perhaps "it" means "the motion"

Yes you can. I just have.
Cailleach1 · 28/09/2021 22:25

@NiceGerbil , for the video:

  1. Go to Labour Party on youtube.
  2. Select this video, Watch Labour Conference 2021 Live - Day 4 .
  3. Go to around -5.16mins and you'll see and hear Patricia from Pendle. Patricia makes the allegation that some 'sister' in the women's toilets (at the same time as Patricia used the women's toilets, I presume) said something to which Patricia took exception.

Ah yes, you’re right, I misread it.

PHW's speech against women and girls' rights to female-only toilets will not go down well where PHW is a councillor. Women have to be able to look after themselves and their daughters and their safety in Nelson. They know the meaning of the word abuse. Sexual harassment/verbal abuse of women, especially young girls, is common on the streets in Nelson and very little is done about it by the authorities.

Additionally, learning to swim is a genuinely lifesaving right that would be removed from Muslim girls and women if males are allowed to invade the swimming sessions which are currently "female only" "with no males present". www.pendleleisuretrust.co.uk/fitness/Female-only-Timetable/.

I hope PHW takes this story to every news outlet around.

Cailleach1 · 28/09/2021 22:40

Oh hark! I've just come across the 'pan sexual' woman. Everyone clapping to this status declaration. When I hear the words 'social scientist' now, I groan inwardly.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 28/09/2021 22:40

It worked!
It starts at -7 and you have to move forwards to -5.15

nauticant · 28/09/2021 22:56

Case after case after case of men who decide to call themselves a woman's name, look like men and then go into a women's' safe space and don't expect to be challenged.

Great, isn't it? Don't get challenged, validation. Get challenged, vindication.

It's win-win.

MeAndDebbieMcGee · 28/09/2021 22:59

Dudes gonna dude

toomanytrees · 28/09/2021 22:59

Strong undercurrent of (male type) anger on display.

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 23:00

Yes seen it!

Thank you.

SpindleWorld · 28/09/2021 23:03

Yes, @nauticant, absolutely.

And that Labour conference hall is a crucible of social contagion, dotted with people too fearful to say anything.

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 23:04

Cailleach not trying to be an arse. I do wonder though if even hinting at / raising anything like that on a thread about a named person. Even with saying not saying it happened. I think it could be used to get the thread to go zap.

I mean I don't know but it's good to be careful with these things.

Sorry not having a go just would hate this thread to be vanished. Think need to tread carefully.

unwashedanddazed · 28/09/2021 23:06

Absolute drivel being applauded by sheep.

But the sub-titles are great! Just who is Auntie Bigotry? And was she in the ladies causing a ruckus? Comrades we need to burn the witch!!!

FurzeMinister · 28/09/2021 23:33

FFS, shades of Teddi Hope!

If you experience abuse at a party political event, report it promptly through the official channels and detail specifically what occurred. If you can identify the alleged abuser - there can't be that many nuns at the Labour Party conference these days! - then report the person. This coy public innuendo helps no one, and just fuels a lot of pointless speculation.

Cailleach1 · 28/09/2021 23:36

Point taken NiceGerbil, although of course this a very real possibility with mixed toilets and I was not stating that is what happened in this instance.

To be careful though, I have asked for the post to be deleted.

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 23:38

Thanks for taking it how I intended cailleach :)

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 23:39

Having watched the video clip.

I find it even more unlikely that a report would not have been made.
