Starker: Not only women have a cervix

This has made me cross.

Labour conference: Not right to say only women have a cervix, says Starmer www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58698406

I'm about to go for my smear test. Any man who feels like a woman is welcome to have a speculum inserted into his non-existent cervix - as long as it isn't at the expense of appointments for biological women.

What about children? Who do you give “the period talk” to? Presumably schools will have to treat all children as if they all might menstruate and might have a variety of body parts, including a cervix, as if biology were some sort of buffet from which you can select characteristics.

What's happening is you're becoming radicalised by all the transphobic shite on here. Disgusting. Report anything you see that is transphobic... t'ain't allowed.

But do be advised that women talking about womens issues isn't transphobic. And that stating that men don't have a cervix isn't either.

Your problem @Lokdok is you haven't actually read and digested what is being said here. You've surface browsed and found women dissenting from your own world view!

That's "disagreeing with you" in old money!

yourhairiswinterfire · 27/09/2021 14:16

What's happening is you're becoming radicalised by all the transphobic shite on here. Disgusting.

Yeah, couldn't possibly be that women are capable of forming their own opinions on the subject all by themselves, could it? Must have been radicalised 🙄

OddSockReunion · 27/09/2021 14:20

@Lokdok if one group if people is stating scientific facts and another is throthing at them in outrage for having done so, it's a pretty safe bet that it is the latter that have been radicalised.

And think it through radicalised who uses language like that?

Are we to take it that the implication is that women talking about being women is akin to terrorism?

Oh, yes, of course! Ongoing court case about ribbons; many other hate crimes including stickers. Of course that's your implication @Lokdok

Pshaw!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 27/09/2021 14:23

To vote tory?? Something severe must have happened to alter any sane person's mental state. I suspect that was the point being made.

Pity you missed it!

WarriorN · 27/09/2021 14:24

Careful lok, your tone is abusive and you could be modded yourself.

MissMaple82 · 27/09/2021 14:26

Trans people need to stop being so precious. The world doesn't revolve around them. They are the minority - they should not want to change wordings to suit their needs. A woman's identity should not be taken away at their expense

Helleofabore · 27/09/2021 14:27

What's happening is you're becoming radicalised by all the transphobic shite on here. Disgusting.

Could you please give some examples of transphobia on this site?

And I hope you realise that making derogatory and false generalisations about any particular group is against the guidelines for this site.

MissMaple82 · 27/09/2021 14:27

Also a trans man with a vagina and cervix is STILL a woman

And there is one of those generalisations again. Keep it coming !!!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 27/09/2021 14:39

Oh dear! And we are supposed to be the unreasonable ones!

Artichokeleaves · 27/09/2021 14:43

Women requiring to keep equal rights is not like 'racism' or 'radicalisation'. That's as ridiculous as claiming that anyone other than a woman has a cervix. You'd have to come from a fairly extremist pov to be able to view it that way.

JazzyBBG · 27/09/2021 14:45

All the arguing about this deflects from some real serious issues - eg not enough women going for smear tests. How can we overcome problems like these if we can't even identify who should be going? It will put more people at risk, not less.

EdgeOfACoin · 27/09/2021 14:45

Maybe Lokdok could address some of the points being raised on this thread?

yourhairiswinterfire · 27/09/2021 14:45

Pretty much the whole of the feminism board

Can you give specific examples?

Is objecting to women and girls being called ''bodies with vaginas'' like we're breeding stock ''transphobic''?

Is objecting to rapists being locked up with women in prison ''transphobic''?

Is knowing that a woman is more than just a feeling in someone's head ''transphobic''?

What's your definition of transphobia?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 27/09/2021 14:46

Oh! That was so good @JazzyBBG right until the very last line. I found myself doing the same a while ago, then realised what I had done Blush

It will put more women at risk, not less.

ArabellaScott · 27/09/2021 14:49

According to Lok it is 'transphobic' to be a feminist, to support women's rights. It is 'radicalisation' to consider voting Tory (best report that straight away, the govt takes radicalisation very seriously and they'll have a bunch of work to do if every Tory voter now needs to be reported). And women on here are not 'sane' (note the dig at mental health. Classy).

Lok, you're an absolute disgrace. Grow up.

JazzyBBG · 27/09/2021 14:51

@CuriousaboutSamphire haha yes - jeez I'm being caught out now!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 27/09/2021 14:53

You forgot the Stormfront, neo Nazi allusion: To read then feminist boards you you must be fascist, racist, anti semitic, Holocaust denying, hate filled...

2old4thissite · 27/09/2021 15:06

New Farher Ted script unearthed:
Dougal: So Ted, is it true we can all have a cervix now?
Ted: Yes Dougal, sometimes.
Dougal: Oh great. Ted..what is a cervix?
Ted: Erm, ahh. Mrs Doyle might know.

ducksalive · 27/09/2021 15:10

The first time I realized that some of my views, like it isn't possible to change sex and allowing men into female prisons was a safeguarding risk were considered transphobic I was upset and shocked. I'd never been considered any type of phobic.

But I have come to realize that it is a term that is used to silence dissent. One used to try and prevent serious adult conversations about issues like safeguarding because of the paucity of arguments possessed by some activists.
A childish screaming of its not fair.
It is a descriptor that has lost any meaning for me past, " shut up, I can't actually rationally debate these serious issues with you"
