Who is Lang Cleg?

I am fairly new (i.e. Less than 5yrs) to this board. I often hear tell of a Lang Cleg, there are lots of user names that seem to be referencing her.

Who is she and where did she go?

She was a mainstay of the MN feminist boards and an expert on safeguarding. Banned, sadly. I don't know why but there are people who monitor our threads here and report anything they find problematic. Worth bearing in mind, sadly.

A brilliant well-informed poster on these boards who was particularly knowledgeable about safeguarding. A few years ago, under pressure from TRA trolls, @MNHQ decided to ban her. It wasn't justified. For some time after posters referenced Spartacus, posted 'I am LC' posts and otherwise protested. Some still have LC in their usernames today. It didn't work. I hope she's around under a secret identity but if you are there Lang please don't tell us

She was a long-time poster on here. She was really hot on safeguarding and had a lot of knowledge of it. She was banned when she stated that MN moderators were being coercively controlled by TRAs. This was definitely within the last five years, so you would have come across her posts if you've been around for that amount of time.

There are people who monitor these boards obsessively and report specific posters whose knowledge is a threat to their anti-woman activism. It didn't help that MNHQ (deliberately?) misconstrued her post as saying that they were coercively controlling users of the Feminism boards.

Thanks all. I may have come across her in the early girl guide posts then, I remember alot about safe guarding there. That was how I came into these lands.

I wonder what she thinks about Wii Spa incident.

She was a staunch advocate of safeguarding, and made a point of underlining that creating any 'untouchable' group, be they priests, scout leaders or trans people, drives a truck through safeguarding measures.

She was banned because she was targeted by TRAs who didn't want that highlighted and repeatedly reported her. When she suggested that the moderation team was being manipulated and groomed by TRA reporters, she was banned because this was deemed disrespectful to the moderating team.

She also does unspeakable things to weetabix.

She was very clear and knowledgeable about safeguarding, it's probably the reason she was targetted.

She was good on class, too.

She had some very problematic views about Weetabix!

Lang Cleg is a safeguarding expert who is relentlessly targeted on that basis.

Getting her banned from here has only increased her activism elsewhere.

She always cuts right through the bullshit and is a fierce advocate for child safeguarding and women's rights, particularly less privileged women and children. I believe she's still active on other sites such as Spinster.

She would be excellent on a Baroness Nicholson webinar. Is she openly GC in real life?

She is a wonderful poster for whom the ban hammer fell, I believe.

I had hoped some of these banning issues would be resolved in light of the Maya Forstater ruling; but then again maybe some posters don't want to come back for good reasons.

In real life Lang is actually JKR. But we don't publicize that too widely, so keep it under your hat.
