Up until 1982, it was legal for pubs to refuse to serve unaccompanied women in England. Seems we're going back there.

Horseshoe used to be a great pub. It really is such a crying shame to see this incident used like this.

Even IF someone was refused because they were judged to have had too much to drink, it's hardly headline news, is it? Happens every week in most city centre pubs, I'd guess. I just cannot imagine a barperson feeling the need to write up a whole long moany post about it, and the Union subsequently sharing it seems totally off.

I hadn't noticed until this thread and that ridiculous tweet, but thinking back to my most recent purchases, I have been buying a lot of purple and green things lately as well. But they do go so nicely together. Always reminds me of springtime and Easter.

Waiting for Laurie Penny to come along and tell these people not to look at the ribbons or not to look at the t-shirts.

I was thinking of making myself some new jammies so have, today, bought green Jersey for the bottoms and lilac and white stripes for the top.

Have Greene King provided any update on their ‘investigation’/apology? Or are they another business to add to the boycott list?

It's cold this morning and so when I got up I wore my dressing gown. It's purple. I asked DH if he was intimidated by it and he said yes. I said is it because it's purple and he said yes. I asked him if he was scared of me in it and he said always so I said "after all this time?" and he didn't get the reference.

He peaked a long time ago, mostly due to my talking about the issue a lot, so he wasn't surprised when I showed him the purple shirt tweet but he did roll his eyes at it and wonder what's wrong with people.

I still want a green, purple and white cloth lanyard (but a subtle one because I also need an income).

Mine is all beads and I got it on eBay. It’s quite pretty.

They also have stripey ones.

Thank you KK - I have seen this on Etsy but I really want a cloth one (I had a whole thread on it and everyone agreed that although there were beaded ones and ones with adult human female written on them there were no simple cloth ones).
