Gay man 'bullied' off Manchester Pride for wearing LGB Alliance hat and t-shirt

LibDem activist delighted by this. Here are two of her tweets. The gay man who turned up in an LGB hat and t-shirt was allegedly advised by police to leave for his own safety and seems to have had the hat stolen.

Another young fool tweeted that 'bullying the guy in the LGB Alliance shirt who came to the protest march is my favourit part of Pride so far xx'. He has since deleted this (possibly because he is now sober and/or has seen how many people had reported this to his employers) and now claims he was just chanting 'Trans lives matter!'. 'Bullying' is an odd choice of words for this. How could anyone think admitting publicly to 'bullying' was a good look?

The LGB Alliance man has been advised that people shouting at him is actually assault if he wants to take it further. Doesn't sound like he does, though.

Unedifying, to say the least.

Well, the difference between transwomen and men is indeed something invisible, as I understand it. A gender identity is something that can’t be seen, or even defined, as far as I know.

The cock and balls is pretty fucking visible.‘

Well, yes, and that would apply to most transwomen as well as men.

I’m wondering if you thought I said women not men?

Anotheruser02 · 29/08/2021 21:02

The black LGBA hat is now sold out, I wonder if they all went today.

OhHolyJesus · 29/08/2021 21:07

Brief statement from LGBA. Honestly, I wonder if it wasn't for them, who would speak for the LGB?

Not Stonewall
Not Pride

Who then?

I did!

My heid's away with the madness of it all.

"trans lives matter" is that cultural appropriation?

Is it like "blue lives matter"?

FloralBunting · 29/08/2021 21:28

I didn't buy a beanie, because I'm more of a trilby woman than a woolly hat one.

Did get a T-shirt, though Grin

MistandMud · 29/08/2021 21:28

No worries, Grombke, I had to reread my own post to check I’d typed what I thought I’d typed!

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 29/08/2021 21:35

@InspiralCoalescenceRingdown

"trans lives matter" is that cultural appropriation?

Is it like "blue lives matter"?

Is "trans lives matter" related to Black Trans Lives Matter, the co-founder of which made a very damning confession in a blog post?

extract from a article about that post

For reasons of personal safety and livelihood, I can’t tell you who I am. But I can tell you this much: I’m a progressive feminist who has spent years working on the front lines of the left. I have opposed conservatism my entire political life in the most strident of terms; under other circumstances, I wouldn’t admit to even reading this site.

Yet, I’ve known for a while that questioning the official narrative of transgender activism (a cause championed wholeheartedly and without question by nearly everyone on the left) can get you blacklisted from media and political work.

People I thought of as friends and colleagues have turned into thought police, and anyone who dares to question the official line is intimidated into capitulation and silence — or forced to find another line of work. So I’m writing you like this, here, to ask you to think carefully about the public safety impacts of the story you’re about to read.

On March 26th, 2016, there was a certain rape. Let me be more specific: a prominent transgender (born male) activist raped another transgender (born female) person and bragged about it on the Internet.

Both the details of the event and the larger circumstances matter, because the truth matters.

GBNews are covering this

Nothing on the BBC News website, though they have got something about M&S not doing men's suits anymore and there was a fire in a restaurant.

Fitt · 29/08/2021 21:38

I was reading that there's been complaints that the event headline act was a straight man, this has disappointed twinks according to Pink News (their word) who would prefer a famous woman to headline along the lines of Ariana. The reaction to the complaints is that they should be glad it's someone from the "community".

The man they picked can be seen online with a string of girlfriends, but because he's been interviewed once when he asserted himself to be pansexual, he's in the queer community!

It really is a heterosexual event now, without the "queer" heterosexual pound it would collapse from lack of interest.

Thelnebriati · 29/08/2021 21:40

So its not being treated as a hate incident, even thought the victim is gay, and it happened because of his sexual orientation?

Quaggersx · 29/08/2021 21:42

PurgatoryOfPotholes thanks for posting that. That is a very hard thing to read. But it's important to be aware.

OhHolyJesus · 29/08/2021 21:49

The man himself, Alexander Bramham on GB News:

Artichokeleaves · 29/08/2021 21:52

If you want to see 'hate' and intolerance and really ugly nastiness towards others, read that Twitter thread. What the actual fuck has 'Pride' become when anyone feels it's appropriate to speak to another human being like this just because they disagree with them?

This used to be a celebration of tolerance and diversity, it used to be a very safe, happy occasion. It was not the LGB who changed this.

AdoptedBumpkin · 29/08/2021 21:55

Not very liberal is she? Surely this goes against the ethos of her party.

No, not really.

There is an interesting thread on that, here.

Shock PN are treating ever greater numbers of people with utter contempt each week.

Chilling. Look at the guy in the black jeans and top. Just chilling to see this this hate.

They're so brave and stunning.

They, however, are very lucky that us lot tend not to stoop to their level in terms of doxing etc.

Transwomen?

Quaggersx · 29/08/2021 22:40

How and earth can that person be viewed as a transwoman. Is that a mistake?

Quaggersx · 29/08/2021 22:40

What do you mean, "viewed as"? If they've stated their gender then that's what their gender is. what gender actually is, is never explained exactly, but it's a feeling, so no-one can view it.
