@C4tintherug
Pride in Surrey has made a statement now about how they don’t support her because she is transphobic….
Was it this one?
"At Pride in Surrey we recognise and value the long-standing support for the LGBTQ+ community shown by Surrey Police, and we continue to welcome that support from those on the operational “front line”. We know all too well that the views of the elected, political Commissioner do not represent those of the overwhelming majority of police officers or the public in Surrey.
Pride in Surrey has requested a meeting with the Police and Crime Commissioner to discuss the issues raised in the News and we will continue to seek to form a practical working relationship.
Our mission statement is to celebrate, educate and connect and the education element of our mission is important to us. Often people’s views are based on misinformation and it is part of our remit to assist people within all areas of society in gaining access to the facts.
We wish to work with the office of the PCC to educate on the issue of transphobia.
The views expressed by our Police and Crime Commissioner are unacceptable for someone in this position and we will continue to challenge her views with force.
Trans rights are human rights."
Sounds a lot like re-education to me.
Also Pride is political, Lisa's views expressed in the Daily Mail were more biological relevant than political. Are they saying that a police and crime commissioner can't be political, did they not know that she is a conservative and in an elected role?
I wonder if they have written to her directly or just posted this on Facebook...
