@MurielSpriggs please actually look at this person's profile: their 'about' field literally says 'Kinky' and they've posted images of BDSM gear and Hentai imagery, on a page which other protest attendees (including minors) will no doubt discover and interact with. There's no issue with grown adults wearing pastels, but there IS an issue with a grown adult decorating herself with children's characters (Jigglypuff from Pokemon) and simultaneously using 'slut' and 'catboy' badges to reflect her sex life, in a venue where children are confirmed to be present - and while discussing children's medicine and rights.
I'm sure there are many other people with these same tastes, but according to the basic rules of 'queer, kinky' BDSM, you need to take precautions to make sure you aren't exposing minors and other non-consenting parties to your sex life. This would include a separate NSFW Twitter account (with the protest information and advocacy on the SFW one, not the two mixed together), and it would also include not wearing these badges at a public, daylight, non-sexual event.
This isn't about subverting gender norms at all, unless you count the gender norm of males being sex pests.
(For those who don't know, 'catboy' also has sexual connotations from - surprise - anime)
