I can't say this on Twitter because I use my real name and my employer is "woke"/"right on"/claims to be an equal opps employer until you have an actual EO problem so here goes:
I don't GAF how anyone identifies (tho "non-binary continues to mysify me, I mean, by most definitions, many women are NB but still define themselves as women) unless by identifying as a certain "gender" (whatever) you then try and take away the hard-won rights of women (fought for, over 100s of years).
I agree with the George Carlin quote in that Twitter thread. "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF STUPID PEOPLE IN LARGE GROUPS". I also agree that stupid people shout the loudest (because they don't have intelligent arguments to back their claims they just yell).
Identify as a male, female, nothing, a sheep, don't care. Really, I don't. You do you. Are you kind? Could we be friends? Ok, cool. I don't even see transpeople as freaks, they are just being themselves.
But you cannot change sex. You cannot tell children they are trans just because they want to present with characteristics that are judged to be "male" or "female" (sexist load of shite) such as playing with dolls or wearing trousers (I've seen a lot of stupid things on the internet). I do think we need more money poured into CAMHS to support LGBTQ+ teenagers but we shouldn't be telling them (especially those who are neurodiverse) that because they don't fit into a box they are trans/NB.
I've read the "demands" and my first thought was, well, they don't ask for much, do they? Legal recognition for NB people? Sack a government minister (who, imo, has made some brave decisions)? Talking about, "marginalised people?" Marginalised is a derogatory term to describe people in our society that tbe Wokeists believe they should speak for without even asking these "marginalised" people what they think in tbe first place. Owen Jones speaks of the "marginalised" a lot and it really pisses me off. It's as if these white, middle class twonks who have suffered no personal trauma and enjoyed loads of privilege now want to speak for minorities who have a tongue in their own head and can speak for themselves, thank you very much.
And don't get me started on OJ labelling all GC folks as "hard/far right". Dear god, anyone with a GCSE in biology must be "hard right" then.
This has been ranty and I fully expect to.be deleted but I don't fucking care. The whole thing yesterday sidelined women, it told 90% of us that we're transphobic, that the government is transphobic, and that the CULT will continue to label people, put them in bixes, and cry bigot if anyone doesn't comply. They can fuck right off.
